We got a pedicure together for the first time three weeks ago in Kaimuki. It was pretty good, but we had no basis for comparison. Today, we had intended to try a salon at the University Plaza, which is closer to home. Although the sign on the door indicated that walk-ins are welcome, we did not feel that way after stepping inside. My wife asked generally, "Are you busy?" No acknowledgement. Understood there happened to be no free technicians at the time, but the gentleman behind the counter seemed to ignore us as we stood by the door assessing the situation. When my wife turned to exit with me following her, the gentleman finally spoke up and offered, "If you'd like to wait..." My wife responded "No thank you," and headed for Honolulu Nail Salon, a few doors down in the same complex, which she had noticed upon our arrival. As we entered, it appeared they were busy as well, but at least one of the techs sat us both down and started my pedicure. My wife waited a few minutes until the second tech was free, thanked my wife for waiting, and proceeded with her pedicure. She was able to engage my wife in pleasant conversation. Overall, Honolulu Nail Salon offered competent service and better value than our Kaimuki experience. We were both satisfied with our pedicures and foot massages. read more

Lynn was my nail tech and was super accommodating and nice! I walked in and got a pedicure. They are super clean. I don't like being forced into a gel pedicure (like many other places) because it ruins my nails. I didn't get that pushy energy from Honolulu nails. Will definitely be back! read more

My partner and I were looking for a place to get a manicure and pedicure while on vacation in Waikiki. All of the places either had websites only in the Japanese language or were extremely high-end. Given that we are males who don't need fancy nail work, just a clean up, callus removal, and trim, I kept searching. Thankfully we found Honolulu Nails. We called 10 minutes before they opened and Kim returned my call within 5 minutes regarding availability. While we were on our way there they called were able to see us even earlier! I've been going here for a few years now and the quality of service is unmatched. They also have very reasonable prices. I do a gel manicure with Tina every couple of weeks and she is the best!!! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The 2570 S Beretania Street location is closed for renovations but these ladies are still working. Go see them in their temporary location inside Aloha Hair & Nail salon just across the intersection at University and King/Beretania. Their service is always great. Honolulu Nails does manicures/pedicures, waxing, massages and eyelashes. They are always friendly when I go there. I've been going to them for 12 years and never had I had a bad experience. Linh and Kim are the two wonderful ladies I always ask for -- Linh is the owner. Kim always does my waxing (eyebrows, upper lip, Brazilian and legs). They also take COVID protocols where they all where masks at all times and clean and sanitize their chairs and tables after each customer. They even have these big shields on their pedicures chairs for extra safety. They prefer cash over credit card due to the service fee. Please tip them well!! This review is based off of my daughters experience. I kind of already knew from the start that the lady was rushing to do everything fast. Of course, that's a no-no. My daughter complained that her hands hurt after about 15-20 min into her full acrylic set, she's 11 and had her nails done a bunch of times and never this bad. After she was finished about 15min earlier than expected, she says her fingers were on fire. Upon inspection, many of her nails were different lengths, she asked for short, but got 2-3 that were short and the rest long, longer, and longest? Her skin on almost all of her fingers had been sanded off above the nail. Small pieces of glue/acrylic underneath the nail, which I guess is ok to have some? Idk. From the top, yes it looks good, but I will have to take her somewhere else to fix the lengths. read more

I paid extra money to have my callus done but unfortunately nothing was done. It was the same as when I walked into the salon. I told the lady that I wanted my fingernails cut shorter but she refused and did not trim it either. Also, I paid extra to have a design on both my big toes a leopard print and the lady said she can do it. The design was not even close to a leopard print. It was dots and a glob of glitter in the middle of the 3 dots and the design was smeared. I called the salon to let them know and the lady said she will have a manager call me back after taking my number but I have not received a call back. I don't think I would ever go back there again. I paid $80 plus tips and is far from satisfied on the service. I paid to have what I want not what they want or think I should have. read more

There's about 5 pedicure stations, 3 manicure stations, and a room for waxes. Experience: The technicians were just like any other place, ready to get you in and out. They asked my what I wanted and got straight to doing it. Some small talk, but it turned pretty silent. Services: My nail tech took ~70 minutes on my pedicure, but I got the deluxe and she did an amazing job. I got my nails done a week ago with my sister. I had Lyn and she did amazing with my nail design! I absolutely love how they turned out. However, my cuticles were really sore and bleeding a little, same with my sister but she had it worse (she had cuts on almost all her fingers). The file kept going against my cuticles and eventually made cuts into my hands while the nail was being filed. My sister's is still hurting after a week, but mine are okay.
