Having just started smoking 3 years ago, I am by no means a Hookah Expert. Though when I first started out coming to "The Lounge" as it's been dubbed, the staff has always been a great experience. The owner is a great guy, everyone who works there is extremely helpful. at 8$ for a single flavor of smoke, you can't really beat the price as they will take care of any issues with the smoking experience you may have no problem. I.e. Dead coals, burned shisha, etc. The atmosphere is really relaxed. To the point the owner has walked in on a few occasions and said "Something is stressing me out, we should fix that." and lets the place just mellow out and relax. Their house blends are an amazing smoke, if you're trying it for the first time I personally recommend anything names after a band. If not, ask whoever is working for a suggestion, or some of the other customers. I don't think I've met a person who's gone there not willing to discuss flavors or tell you what you're in for. Having smoked 90% of the flavors offered there in a myriad of combinations, I've made a few bad choices before. Though if the staff had tried it, they usually let me know ahead of time what I'm getting into. Also Blueberry Muffin, if you try nothing else, try Blueberry Muffin. Monday night movie night is always a blast. Get to enjoy a great atmosphere, a huge selection of movies and they let the customers pick when it's time to change films. If I'm not mistaken I believe they allow people to bring in DVD's for movie night, if there is a specific film you want to see that they don't have. (I'm sure it has to be business appropriate.) Also since "The Walking Dead" is back on T.V. they do a Sunday night showing of it. So if you're a fan, why not come sit down with a nice Hookah and chill out while watching the newest episode. Every other Thursday is Open Mic Night. We get a lot of very talented people coming up to read poetry, rapping, acoustic guitar players, some stand up comedy, etc. Always a great night to go up there. A lot of talented people come on these nights to grace the usually chill, relaxed atmosphere with an awesome night of great music. Usually Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday there is live music performances. Between Daniel O'Ryan, and Angela Coley, the place is worth checking out. Let alone the DJ's that get up there and spin all sorts of music. Ranging from Dubstep to House and Trance. It's a really nice spin on the general chill atmosphere. All of that aside, the games in the back booths, Free WiFi, Cable T.V., and the hardest choice you have to make is what flavor you want to enjoy next. Totally worth the check out. I first came to this little Hookah Bar with a friend who was hoping to cheer me up after a horrible night in which there was a ridiculous amount of drama and I needed to relax. I had only ever smoked Hookah once before so I didn't really know what I was expecting. One crazy night filled with Hookah, jokes, cards against humanities, and about 20 new friends, and I was completely hooked. This place literally brought me out of my shell; every time I go in I am meeting new people, learning new things, and trying new flavors. They are always getting new and interesting products, the music is always awesome, and they even have movie nights! I am sorry if anyone had ever had a bad experience here but if you can't accept the place for what it is: a place to reconnect with your childhood with video games, somewhere to go when you need to escape the world for a second to vent and relax, a cry against the usual bull shit that you have to deal with from day to day society, well then stick to Starbucks. These people are awesome at what they do. They connect with every costumer that walks in through that weirdly heavy ass door and bring them into a whole new reality, one in which there is nothing but good vibes and good smoke. Be glad that, when you were walking back to the bathroom you got carded, because that means whichever employee stopped to ask you recognized that you were a new face and not just a part of some crowd of ever changing faces that shambles through their lounge every day. Be glad that the bathroom is completely covered in writing, it's a bunch of people expressing their silly perverted selves without having to worry about getting in trouble for it like many people wish they could but act like they don't. Be glad that you "Got a full face and vision block of smoke" you just got a preview of all the amazing flavors they have got stashed away for their guests. Going to The Hookah Lounge on Gulf To Bay 2420 is like walking into your best friend's house, the one with the cool parents, who always has a smile on and is ready to just enjoy your company because you're just that damn comfortable with each other that it's okay to sit around on your ass and do nothing but chill for hours on end. This isn't a snooty place to sit around and pay $20 to puff on a hookah while boring music plays in the background and your butt goes numb from sitting on a wooden bench. This is a chill zone, where you meet up with your friends, sit back on the couch or in a bean bag, and enjoy their company as well as the friendly staff while you pull on a hookah that you paid $8 for knowing that it is worth way more than that in memories alone. read more

I moved out of the area years ago, and whenever I come into town I know I will see a friendly face there. This place has a different feel to it, which I enjoy because there aren't many friendly, trustworthy, inexpensive, and laid back environments around. Kind of like a Cheers place - Everyone on staff is friendly, courteous, welcoming and treats you like you're at their own home. The place is very cozy and I enjoy the lighting. My favorite aspect of the hookahs - which they recommend everyone getting their own - is that you can mix and match your own flavors, and share with each other. They will tell you what their personal favorite is, flavors that compliment each other, or something new to try to step out of your normal flavor zone. A lot of people that go there become friends with each other, so it being a lounge is a very accurate name. Like a hookah version of your neighborhood bar spot, this is a great place for friends that want to hang out for a bit but don't know where to go, listen to some music, meet some new people, and enjoy the atmosphere. The bathroom writing I find a really neat interactive part of the lounge itself - they encourage you to leave your mark! I went there first after it had recently opened, and there were only a few (a lot of wall space). It's so neat to see how many people have been through there over the years! To protest what the girl with the very negative comment had to say about this establishment and its staff, and to put it simply she must be really stuck up. This is the best hookah lounge I or any of my friends have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff is always happy to help every customer with flavor choices and other purchases. The reason they may have been sitting down or relaxing with customers is because that is what this establishment is all about! They love to sit with customers and get to know their clients. That is how they get repeat customers. I thoroughly enjoy the staff. I started going there when i was eighteen and they have done nothing but make me feel like family. I love this lounge and its staff. All of the art around the lounge help create it's character. The bathroom grafitti gives the place an urban feel along with the rest of the place. People share hookahs because it is a friendly environment and people that visit like to try different flavors. One of the great things about this place is that you can bring your own hookah and it is cheaper and you can be guaranteed a hookah if you go on a busy night. The hookahs are great, they smoke well and if they don't the staff is eager to help fix the problem to make sure their customers walk away happy. This is a great lounge, one of the best in Florida. The Hookah Lounge knows how to please!! The Clearwater area has been a part of my life for over 28 years. If you are interested in smooth hookah, incredible live music and remarkable people, The Hookah Lounge is the place to visit! Their live performers take an obvious pride in making sure the perfect mood is always set. From the rehearsed sets to the impromptu ones on open mic nights - something about this place makes you feel incredible and draws in people from all walks of life. You never know what type of wonderful people you will meet here, but you can always taste love in the air when you walk through the door. The staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever known. I went to the hookah lounge during holiday season 2010 and when I went back for the second time almost a year later, the owner remembered me by name! The owner! By name!! I wont mince words. It's not a very reasonable place price wise. You're better off buying the unlimited package for 15 dollars which puts you at a 3 hour limit but you get like six change-outs of 3 flavor mixes and despite being allowed to pass a hose around everyone still has to pay for one. HOWEVER, The people running it are super chill and really quick with their service. The bathroom does have writing all over it but it's something they allowed, it looks like art to me, fucking gorgeous in fact. It's also got a really kick-ass atmosphere. There's definitely not a lot of options for hookah near Gulf to Bay but IMO you get what you pay for. This place is always fucking packed and they put the limit to keep space open so that the lines outside don't get fucking ludicrous and if you go mostly on weekdays half the time they don't care if you stay past your limit and the staff is super attentive. "The hookah Lounge" is one of the best. At the same time, they are our older sister. They been in the area for more than 5 years now and they even use to send us some customers if they are busy and running out of hookah and we appreciate that; in return we send them whomever asking to buy any hookah or related supply. In addition, both "Mr. Hookah" and "The Hookah Lounge" are targeting different kind of customers. I've been going to this lounge for a few years now. It's not only incredibly chill, but the hookah quality is divine. This lounge has a wonderful staff, very friendly and inviting. They accommodate to your needs, whether you want to hide in a booth and have a calm smoke, sit in the front open area and mingle, listen to awesome live music on the weekend, play some video games in one of the booths, whatever! They have any flavor you could ever think of and are knowledgeable and ready to help you out. This place attracts all ages and lots of amazing people. This is the place I go to when I need a calm getaway, when I need some friends, and most of all when I'm craving some good smoke. I've been to quite a few lounges and none compare. I have to say, everything on the previous review is truly false and/or can be explained by how awesome this hookah lounge is. They may have been out of hookahs because they were packed, as they tend to get from time to time. How can a business be so busy if it sucks so bad? And yes, the bathroom has writing all over it but it is full of memories and good times spent. The entire atmosphere in this place is amazing. It is full of great music and extremely great people. They always have something going on whether its open mic night or a live dj. And in case of a busy night, there is plenty more parking back behind the building. I absolutely love the hookah lounge, I have been going here for nearly 10 yrs !! It not only has a great atmosphere , they have a great staff as well. They offer multiple flavors, which you can mix and match. The blueberry pancakes are my favorite. :) you can have an individual hookah for only $8 that last a good 2 hrs. There are plush couches and booths. they offer live entertainment nightly, have board games and video games for whatever mood your in!! I have always been ID'd as soon as I walk in. I am 27 yrs old and the atmosphere is very relaxing and chill. Perhaps "some" people can't enjoy the personal touch that the de'cor provides ;however, I find it quite endearing . :) read more

The best Hookah Lounge in the area. I think my favorite thing about it (besides the staff, music, and other patrons of course) is that there's no cigarettes inside. Some Hookah places allow that, and it's gross. There is a different between Hookah and cigarette smoke people! Staff is always friendly and willing to help. They also sell Hookahs, shisha, coals, and a few other things I think... Water... There are a few booths with game systems you can play, they also have board games, movie nights, DJ's and live music on weekends. I have been going to this hookah lounge for years now. I absolutely love it! The staff is awesome and friendly, the flavors to pick from are endless, the atmosphere is totally perfect. They have tv's to watch, game consoles to play and regular board games to bring back old times with. They have live entertainment on certain nights that are fantastic to watch. I hosted a birthday party (12 people) there and it went super smooth. I brought the decorations and the staff put them up for me. The prices are great and the vibe is like no other. If you haven't been here you're missing out.. The Hookah Lounge is my escape from reality. All problems are left at the door. Whether there's live music, Movie Night, or Open Mic... You're gonna have a good time. I am dating one of the musicians who plays live music here and he took me here on our first date where we sat alone in a booth. As far as hookah bars go this is one of the best I have been to. I have traveled the world to Dubai and Bahrain and would prefer this bar over some of the expensive places that I have been. Its a great place to go and hangout and have nice conversation. The place is unique and great. One of the best times I have had after a long Wednesday of work. I have only been to one other hookah lounge, but this one is by far my favorite. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have booths with tvs and video games. They also have board games and live music on the weekends. Monday nights they play movies and the customers get to vote on different movies.
