We had such a great time last night celebrating my best friends birthday. He had never been to Hookava before. He loved it and had a blast throughout the whole thing! The DJ was so awesome and was playing some very nostalgic mixes that brought back great memories. We've had so many amazing flavor combinations of Sheesha from Hookava, but we had to go with Gummy Worm this time. It has always been a favorite, and it's a good first introduction to Hookah for those who haven't tried it yet. Another favorite flavor is Blueberry Muffin, and also Spiced Chai by Fumari. Also I highly suggest getting an ice tip for a more smooth and cooling sensation while smoking. Every Tuesday is free ice tip day, otherwise $5 regularly which, is still very worth it. The incredibly fun and unique staff have always been phenomenal in so many ways. They are wicked fast in everything they do, and deeply knowledgeable in giving recommendations for flavor combos and drinks. Definitely my number one for Hookah in Reno. I've been wanting to come here for years, and finally made it after the UNR football game (we actually won a game!) to celebrate. I've always said this space is amazing and the location is one of a kind. We were quickly greeted by the hostess once we arrived and she got us seated and comfortable before our server showed up. There are lot's of different Hooka options. I haven't enjoyed Hooka in a longtime so many of these options were new to me. We opted for the tobacco free option so as to enjoy the experience without any negative side effects. Our server was friendly and attentive, helping us get it started and checking in frequently to make sure it was burning smoothly. My only slightly negative gripe is the alcohol selection is lacking and expensive. Canned beer at a premium price always stings a bit. I would definitely go back, was great for a fun date night out and a relaxing experience to enjoy downtown. read more

However, the server was terrible, we were the only group in there at the time and she sat by us on her phone the whole time and couldn't bother to check on us at all. We had to push the bottom to get her attention which is so ridiculous. We have had much better service before so it was disappointing to be treated this way. Also not friendly when communicating to us. Whole group agreed the service should be better especially when we kept actively buying drinks. Still left a tip but they should hire someone new. We came on a Saturday night and was able to get seated right away! The worker that greeted me at the desk had a fun personality considering it seems like a decent busy night! You have to press a button when you're ready to put your order in and they acknowledged it in a timely manner! The tables were pretty spaced out so even though it was busy it doesn't seem like you're just inhaling each others smoke! And then, you go upstairs and there's a little bar upstairs, and a pool table and a bunch of places for people to kick back. Decided to stop by for a night out. Hookah was okay. The price was a little steep if you ask me. 25 for Fumari... The ambiance was nice, I hear it's a lot better than their old location. I had sort of a negative experience with Jeff who was working the night we went, multiple songs we had queued were skipped and when I brought it up it was only met with disregard. It didn't ruin our night as Dylan and Cheyanne have always been absolute saints and tended to our group throughout the evening, but it left me wondering whether or not it was worth it to spend the money we do playing our preferred tracks if they'd just be glossed over. I've been informed that Jeff actually no longer works for their company, and it appears our regular gatherings will continue without worry of our songs being skipped or not being able to enjoy ourselves to the fullest while we're there. There are a variety of mixed drinks, beer, and wines for a fun filled night: my personal favorite mixed drink here is the Bloody Mary made with a garlic whiskey. The servers Zoie, Aly, Janaya, Ginivieve, Kelvin, Deja, Naomy, Jaime, Jennica and Lala are all amazing people who have top tier customer service and always something interesting to talk about with the patrons. The regulars that come (myself included) create a calming, ambient environment that makes it easy to make new friends. They serve alcohol there and they make them pretty good and the hookah is really good. The staff is very friendly and chill. They also have a pool table and TVs.
