We did see an alligator, but the views and the history shared by Captain Cook were worth the tour even if we didn't see any wildlife. My husband and I recommend the airboat tour and plan to make it an annual tradition. Captain Cook makes the tour fun but the swamp views are worth the trip even if the alligators are hiding. Tip: if you are in the front row on the airboat I would recommend not wearing lipgloss....everything sticks!

I have had the privilege of being a guest on his fishing vessel quite a few times over the last few years, and he has amazed me with his personality, know how, and his ability to make you comfortable enough to always have a great time. It's pretty comical as numerous guides call Charles while he is on the water to get fishing tips and locations to go to! In his laid back and gentlemanly demeanor, he kindly helps them, as I'm sure he has done many times over the years. He has yet to disappoint, and I can't remember a time that he hasn't put us on the fish. It seems like I have caught a thousand fish off of this man's boat! We took the 4 hour cruise in the afternoon and were most impressed...Exactly the boat we wanted (houseboat so we could choose to be inside or out), comfortable, lots of lore and nature info, especially on birds. It was a great time and we'd go back and do it again. 4 Hours may seem like a long time, but it flew by like an hour-there was so much to see and information to process. Good price, good man, good boat. This is a "Don't Miss" when you're in or nearby Apalach.

Word of caution, the embarking location is different from the 479 Market St address. We made the mistake of going to that address to meet Captain Larry. The actual meeting place was really under the bridge off of Water St. (Just be sure to confirm meeting location when you make your reservation.) The trip was quite interesting, as Captain Larry speeds through the swamp land. You truly get to experience and see nature, untouched by man. It's quite the estuary. Captain Larry even stopped along the way for us to just sit and observe the surroundings and share fun facts. We got to see an eagle, an alligator and other birds during the trip. For my first airboat ride, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would I recommend? Yes.

The captain and the deckhand(who was much more than that) run a great fishing operation. We…read morecaught bait quickly and efficiently and then off to fish for grouper. The captain moved often if the spot was not productive. The deckhand was never asked to do anything. He knew what to do and did it well. When we all hooked up, the captain took off fish and baited as well. We caught a limit of grouper, caught and released some snapper, some others I cannot recall the types, and of course the sharks. I have been out on a number of trips and this was my best overall trip. I will be back and it is a long way from Texas.
