They made everything very apparent, and we even got to sign the interior of the bus. The next time I came, my daughter had taken out a piece to inflate my paddleboard, I called James River Canoe Rental, and they remembered me from my previous float trip. They were able to send a friend that has a paddleboard company out to me to give me a hand blowing up my board! No one ever goes out of their way like that!! This was an additional $180 cost! there was no mention anywhere when on website! when we inquired about transporting the coolers ourselves, we were told we could not do that; don't know if that meant that it was private property or there was no public access. We surrendered because we had no other options as far and paid their huge fee. Waited over an hour for transportation to put in spot, our group was split up in two buses, loaded kayaks were blocking the seats before we were allowed to get on, and passengers were scolded because some younger people did not climb over the bus seats and were expected to do so versus the older passengers!!! Shouldn't have had to climb over the seats at all. This is also a safety hazard, probably against the law. We finally arrived and only one person there to assist our large group and many other people to put in the river. They did have outfitted canoe kayaks staged for our group, but other groups were taking half of the one set aside for us which further delayed us another 45 minutes, we finally got in the river only to find out that three of the kayaks were broken. Overall, I would rate this outfitter as the worst I have ever seen personnel under demand equipment, and very poor condition. Operation for basic services was not very well organized. Needless to say we will never return to this outfitter or recommend anyone else use them. In fact we will recommend they use anybody else than James River Outfitters!!!!

Our campsite had great shade but wasn't on the water (late night loop 104) but was near the bathroom which I appreciated. The showers and toilets could be cleaner but I feel like there is only so much they can do with the amount of lake swimming and sheer amount of folks using the restrooms. I definitely recommend water shoes not only for the lake but also the showers. Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.

Their business info states to come early for check-in so you can purchase sundries and snacks. Well there were things like chums, there were no snacks nor beverages for purchase. With the heat one would think it wise to offer water to your customers. On our trip the shuttle driver told us where to meet him for the shuttle pickup and about how much time it would take us to get there. There were 12 of us on the van and 10 of us were able to get to the place within 10 minutes arrival of each other. The last couple did not. We waited another 30 minutes in the heat for them to arrive. Although you cannot control for self absorbed people, it might be a good idea to give some instructions on keeping up in the group so that you are not holding everyone up waiting for you (think pace of play or pace of float). I would still recommend Float Eureka as they provided a great experience overall.

I visited Busiek for the first time this past weekend and in regard to the scenery, all I can…read morereally say is 'Wow.' If you're a fan of hiking, horse back riding, or pretty intense mountain biking, this is a fantastic place to visit on a beautiful seasonal day. You can do any of the above-mentioned activities on Busiek's lengthy trails, which range from flat and grassy to rocky and winding. All of it is stunning and serenly quiet. Things you should know about Busiek: there are no bathrooms, unless you count the ground. Speaking of using the ground as a bathroom - there is horse poop, so watch your step. Finally, there's a shooting range where the trails meet near the parking lot, so take that into consideration if any of your camp has an aversion to loud noises or if your animals are easily spooked. The pops of gunfire do dissipate after a few yards in the woods, though. I'll let the pictures I added speak for themselves, but if you come here when the leaves are changing, you'll be reminded why the Ozarks is actually a very lovely place to live. Truly, Busiek is about as good as it gets (and worthy of five stars) if what you're looking for is a date with nature. A note on kids: I'm not a parent, but I'd be willing to bet this wouldn't be a good place for tots or even youngsters because it's unmanned and can get very tiring, especially as the elevation rises.
