Our large extended family has gone year after year. Our group size ranges from 15-25 any given year. We've gone for 5+ years and will keep going. A great time is had by all. There are some rope swings along the way. After 2 miles, you get out, ride the bus back and do it again. read more

This was our first time to visit Camp Tomahawk and it was really fun, however, the place looked really sketchy. There were campers with junk everywhere, nothing clean and neat. Looks like many live here long term. The cashier seemed really confused on prices. I thought I had read online that we could use a cooler tube for free for every 3 people we had, but she charged $5 and gave us a receipt to show the bus driver. When we arrived at the drop-off sight the bus driver didn't get out, just said help yourselves to the tubes and off he went. We ended up not needing the cooler tube, guess we donated $5. It was really relaxing floating down the river, just wish there was a little more communication with the people that work there. Also would encourage some clean-up to make people feel more comfortable and welcome. read more

When you pull up to this place, it does seem a bit sketchy. Lol. There are these weird bubbles to the side where people live in? And inside the public bathrooms there is a laundry unit. Lol not sure if the owners live here or if that is for the campers. But regardless, the people are really nice. The price to float all day is really cheap also. But we also bought the water shoes and they all ripped halfway through the float so the quality on that was big poo poo. The bus that picked us up to float and it was super old haha. The bottom glass piece on the door was shattered out. Not sure what happened there. Might've even been the super bumpy ride to the start of the float. Lol but they did have a huge pile of floaters and tubes. And nice variety of tube options - if you wanted to lay out of be in the water to float. Good options. And you could tie your floats all together. The water is really really shallow the whole float so it does stay relatively warm and there are fishes. But they had two rope swings and with the super shallow water, it's a bit unsafe to be jumping from the swings since you basically land and then stand up. It's probably only 4 feet of water... yikes! But the float takes about 1-2 hours so it's a good time overall and everyone working there is really nice. It was also relatively empty. I did have a good time there but not sure if I would go back! read more

I highly recommend this!! It was a little tricky finding it, but WOW! So glad we did!! The tubes very high quality...my husband and I even had a double tube which was great! This river is PERFECT for a fun, relaxing, scenic float! It took us about 90 minutes and if you want to do it again it's only another $5!! read more

Went here during the week on Wednesday, had about 22 in our group. They made the tub rental very easy. (WiFi for card transactions took a few minutes, so I'd bring cash). They were very helpful and informative with the rental and what to do once you got to the end. Rope swings are fun but was a bit shallow so be careful. This float is so beautiful, try to bring an extra bag for trash collection. (Maybe ask the tub rental place) You can buy a cooler for $15 or rent one for $5, along with a cooler float that has a bottom (nice place to store the trash bag for the float down river) It was a very peaceful, relaxing yet fun with friends float! For sure a place to visit if in the Springfield, MO area! read more

A very casual set up. They are in the middle of the woods down a long dirt path with a few friendly dogs running around. They drive you in the worlds muddiest school buses (inside and out) to a big pile of tubes and single person kayak(?) floats and you paddle or float back to your car. It's a good "country" experience and I'd recommend it, especially to other city slickers. read more

We keep coming back to float here because it is off the beaten track, family owned, very rustic and everyone is so willing to help out and answer any questions you may have. It is a 2 mile float but you can stop and play along the way with rope swings and water is shallow enough to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We had a great visit tubing in the James River. Location is rustic and family owned and operated. Friendly service and beautiful lazy river for an enjoyable afternoon. Water is shallow with lots of convenient places to get out and play. Lots of fun and well worth the drive from Branson. read more

Spontaneous outing turned into loads of fun!! While on the river we saw American Eagles amongst other beautiful sites. This is a family owned and ran location and both the father and daughter were so sweet and attentive to all of our questions. Very inexpensive and worth driving about 40 minutes outside of Branson. Nice peaceful drive. If you have kids or just an adult adventure you have to go. Enjoy the fun of nature! read more
