The boneless wings were tiny, the service was subpar but the biggest issue, the restaurant was definitely segregated. There was a white section at the front, Hispanic section in the middle and in the way back by the toilets was the black section. My wife is black so this is where we were seated. The service in the other 2 sections was much better than the service we received. Whether this was coincidental or on purpose, this something that should be investigated. I've been to Hooter's plenty of times on Higgins, but this was the first time we went to the one in Melrose Park for convenience sake. It's also probably the last time I'll be going there. We ordered salads and boneless wings. The side salad is listed as having tomato, onion, and cucumber...none of which were found. It was literally the bag of Fresh Express salad you buy at the grocery store, dumped into bowls. I have that same bag in my fridge, so I know what it is. The salads and boneless wings were brought out at the same time and the wings were already soggy. You know that texture you get when you reheat fried items in the microwave and the breading becomes soggy and falls off? That's what the wings looked like and tasted like when they were brought to the table. Definitely will not be eating there ever again. Today 7/30/2019 I went to Hooters in Melrose Park, IL with a co worker for lunch. This is one of our normal spots to come for lunch. We ordered two drinks, shrimp appetizers, Salad with chicken, & 10 piece boneless combo. Our waitress was very nice, I cant complain about her service at all. About 22 mins passed by and our food was brought to the table. My co-worker and I began eating. Half way through our meal I noticed what looks like a silver fish bug on the table and crawled to the napkins. I was disgusted. I called the waitress over, she apologized and took the roll of napkins. Never once did she go over to her manager to let him know what happen. I couldn't even eat my food, after witnessing a bug crawling on the table I was eating at onto the napkins. Where did the bug come from? Under the table? From the food? Just nasty!! I called the waitress over and asked her to inform her manager and see if there can be something done with our bill after all there was a BUG on the table where we were eating!!! The manager came over and said I heard there was a caterpillar over here & smiled on top of it like it was no big deal. Unbelievable. I said there was no caterpillar sir it was a Silver Fish bug! He said sorry, and then said at least it wasn't on your food. I said I don't know where it originally came from but it was on the table where my food was and where I was eating. I said is there something you can do to accommodate this disgusting issue. He came back and said I took your drinks off! Really? The drinks! Not the appetizer & drinks or even one of our meals. I placed an order with UberEATS and only received a part of it and the other part was spilled all over the bag. I called Hooter and spoke with the manager, Dave, I believe his name was, who was exceptionally professional. He contacted UberEATS to refunded my missing and ruined part of the order. He agreed to replace my order free of charge. It was a great way to keep me as a returning customer. We got there at 11:40. we ordered our food (lunch specials) and it took almost an hour to get it. when we received it, a few were cold and one order was wrong. One of the worst hooters I have ever been to. The service was very slow. Our waitress did not check up on us. The worst part was the food. The buffalo chicken wrap was HORRIBLE! There was very little meat and the sauce was non existent. The fries were served Luke warm. Overall a very disappointing experience. No longer will I ever go here...the waitresses are amazing. They do their jobs perfectly but the kitchen staff and management has ruined this place for me and all my friends. The last 2 times we went there we had horrible experiences with an hour wait for food on a slow day and hair in our food the next with nothing taken off the bill for it. The kitchen is an open kitchen and is always always ridiculously dirty. Sad to say we won't ever be going here again. So went in on Thursday night after a haunted house for some wings, with a buddy of mine. Everything was ok, except for an experience with one other customer. A gentleman who was obviously was drunk, finished his tall beer, stumbled off of his chair, at the bar, into another chair. He then walked over to us and asked us, what the F**k are you F**king F*gs looking at? He then stumbled out, with the manager and security, watching at the door, waiting for him to leave. If I could give zero I would! This establishment is racist and scams patrons to pay more. We came with party of 9, two came late after orders were made. Our friends let us know that the waitress said we are not allowed to have separate bills. We sat down at the table NEXT to our groups of friends but not with them. The manager walked up with a police officer and said in a hostile tone so yall you know have to pay an 18% service charge for having a party more then 7. My best friend and I told the manager our orders will be separate. Our friends were already in the middle of eating and were about to be done. He raised his voice and stated no yall are together so you have to pay the service charge. One of the friends in the group asked why did you need to bring the police over here to tell us this. And why did yall not say this before we ordered our food? He stated yall can call corporate and give them my name this is our policy. (I work in the service industry) They seated us at a dirty table however our waitress Irene was very nice and cleaned it immediately. This Hooters is just...ugh. I've went to others and not had any issues but twice now have been seriously disappointed. The first time I came here the waitress somehow double charged me but only brought out one reciept for me to sign. I had to look at my bank account to see that and then after calling was told it would take a week for the money to be put back in my account. I about a year later tried to give this place a second try and regretted it. I came with a girl friend of mine and literally got ignored for 20 mins without even so much as a water even though the place was relatively empty. Also the wings i ordered were cold, not room temperature, but cold. My friends order was also cold. They did recook it for us and even that took long. So... We used to be regular customers here once upon a time (as in a few times a month). Food and service has rarely if ever been an issue for us. Unfortunately as of late we have noticed a change to the foods portion sizes... Buffalo shrimp is much smaller and the wings (which they're known for) is now smaller and has most of its parts cut off.... very sad to see...
