The staff member I spoke with was dismissive and rude, stating she had "no idea" how much longer I would need to wait and that I was simply waiting for a technician with one other person ahead of me. I returned to my seat and waited an additional 10 minutes, during which no one was called back. At that point, I decided I could no longer wait and requested a refund of my deposit. The staff member informed me that cancellations require 48 hours' notice but added that, "as a courtesy," she could "probably" issue a refund. I found this response ironic, as it felt anything but courteous given that I had already waited more than 30 minutes past my appointment time. What I find most frustrating is the inconsistency in expectations: clients are required to arrive early or on time, with the risk of having their appointments canceled and deposits forfeited if they are late, yet the practice does not extend the same respect for clients' time. To wait for over 30 minutes without explanation or apology is unacceptable. When I asked to speak with a manager, the staff member became noticeably snippy and refused to get one. There is always an appointment available fairly soon whether is a spay/neuter or clinic visit. The process to book online is easy and quick, they send you confirmation and instructions right away as well as reminder emails. To check in, you scan a qr code when you get there and they will text you when your turn is up. Check in is super quick and easy, staff is efficient and friendly. I got my 6 month old kitten in on a Tuesday morning, the parking lot was full so I had to hang out and wait a bit for a spot to open, but she me people just parked wherever they could, at the red fire lane, blocking other cars etc. The fairly small parking lot is probably the biggest challenge. I got a text my kitten was ready for pick up, it took about 15 minutes from when I got there to pulling out of the parking lot. Baby boy did great, staff said he was a good boy and he didn't seem to have any pain after the procedure either, so the pain meds they give work well. I got extra pain meds for next day but we didn't even need it. I will be taking other pets here for spay/neuter in the future, because of the great pricing and wonderful experience. read more

The scheduled drop off times are not followed for dogs and cats. Especially during a voucher for spay and neuter and this time for cats. Very unorganized management without attention to the details. Parking lot chaos and when I got yelled at by one of their patrons for crossing the parking painted line your management told me to park on the street. Why don't you have your staff park on the street instead.!! Plus it says "no stopping on the signage on the street" posted all sing your curbs. Now besides treating me without professionalism you tell me to park on the street. Such a smooth process of getting my cat her vaccinations. You can scan the QR code to sign in and wait tell it's your fur baby's turn. You do not get to go to the back. I recommend this place so much! Affordable with exam fees to be $35 and work to be affordable range. I am sad you can't call them for immediate answers for the wellness center, but they respond fast on text and email! The nurse and doctor (I will leave out names for confidentiality) were superb. I felt so reassured and so happy that he is being seen by them. Their demeanor is pleasant and so gentle that my naughty cat behaved! They handled him with care and ensured to respect his space and boundaries. They were absolutely kind and easy to talk to as they provided their diagnosis and findings. They also made sure to play the TV and find ways to bring him comfort. You can really tell that they love animals, and it warms my heart that my cat was in their care. I was glad to bring him here with great fast service and wonderful staff. I was also late, too, by 7 minutes and more with paperwork, but they were accommodating and so kind I was already stressed with my cat anxiety and having to make pitstops for him driving there. I was worried they would turn me away or cold in my delay, but they were so kind and so welcoming. WARNING: I do admit it is a little hard to make appointments with bookings being booked so fast. I recommend checking every day and near the end of the week. The first time here, I got lost and realized that the spay/neuter building is different from wellness. I want to issue a serious warning to anyone considering taking their pet to H.O.P.E. Animal Foundation in Fresno. Please RECONSIDER--your pet's life could be at risk due to the reckless and negligent care provided at this facility. After relocating to the area, I was searching for a new vet for my senior dog. Most highly rated clinics were not accepting new patients, so I gave H.O.P.E. a try. My dog had recently begun drinking and urinating excessively and had developed a light cough, so I brought him in for a checkup. We were seen by Dr. Angelica Reyes, who ordered bloodwork and other tests. The next day, she called to tell me the results were mostly normal except for elevated liver enzymes, and that based on symptoms, my dog was likely showing signs of Cushing's disease. She prescribed Temaril-P, instructing me to give him two pills daily for four days, then as needed. Trusting her professional judgment, I gave my dog the medication as directed. What I didn't know--because no one explained it--is that Temaril-P contains prednisolone, a corticosteroid that is strongly contraindicated in animals suspected of having Cushing's disease. Giving this to a dog with Cushing's can be life-threatening, as the disease is caused by excessive corticosteroid production to begin with. Adding more can seriously worsen the condition. And to make matters worse, abruptly stopping steroids like prednisolone can also be fatal, as it may cause an adrenal crisis--yet no tapering instructions were provided at all. Shortly after beginning the medication, my dog's condition took a sharp turn for the worse. He became severely lethargic, disoriented, and almost completely unresponsive. He would have died within days if not for my daughter--who is a Medical Doctor--visiting and immediately checking the prescription. She was horrified to discover what he had been given and the lack of any tapering plan. She drove to H.O.P.E. Animal Foundation immediately to demand answers. Dr. Reyes refused to speak with her and hid in the back while a technician attempted to downplay my daughter's concerns and told her not to "look up medications online." Only after my daughter stated she was a physician did the technician begin going back and forth to relay messages. Still, Dr. Reyes never came out, never called me, and no one followed up. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of what could have happened, and no accountability for what nearly did. We will never return to H.O.P.E. Animal Foundation. My dog's life was put in serious danger by a veterinarian who either lacked basic knowledge or failed to act responsibly. He would have died without my daughter's intervention. I strongly caution every pet owner in the area: DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. read more

Beware of this clinic! I am updating my review to make it clear that our dog Blanket passed away due to this clinic's negligence, and now they are trying to shift the blame onto us. Despite completing all the tests they recommended and following their treatment plan, Blanket's health rapidly declined, and we were given conflicting and incomplete information that led to her death. When we first brought Blanket in, they informed us that her bloodwork was "abnormal" but they didn't know why. Concerned for her health, we decided to go ahead with all the tests they recommended, even though we initially only planned to do a few. Despite completing all of the tests they suggested, they still told us that Blanket was "fine." Tragically, just four days later, Blanket passed away. In their response, the clinic now claims that further diagnostics were necessary but not pursued due to financial constraints. This is completely false. We paid for all the tests they recommended during the visit, and at no point did they mention the need for additional tests or treatments. Any decisions about further testing should have been discussed with us, but they never communicated this. After Blanket passed, I reviewed her medical records and discovered that she had kidney and liver issues, which were never mentioned to us during the visit. Despite these conditions, they prescribed Meloxicam, a medication that is known to worsen kidney and liver problems. This likely accelerated Blanket's decline. We trusted their expertise and followed their treatment plan, not knowing that this medication would harm her even more. It was only after her passing that I discovered these issues by interpreting the medical records myself--something that should have been communicated to us clearly from the start. They did mention a heart murmur during the visit, but reassured us that it wasn't dangerous. Additionally, the systemic inflammation and excessive thirst--the reasons we brought Blanket in--were never properly addressed. They also briefly mentioned cancer when they examined a mass on Blanket, but after the fine needle aspiration (FNA), we were told it was just fat and not cancerous. Cancer was never seriously discussed during the visit, but now they use it as a possible explanation for her sudden death. This clinic's lack of communication and failure to inform us of critical health issues contributed directly to Blanket's passing. They gave us incomplete information and neglected to inform us of her kidney and liver conditions, instead prescribing medication that made those conditions worse. Our pet deserved better care, and so did we. I'm sharing this update to make others aware of our experience. If you choose to go to this clinic get a second opinion or better yet, avoid this place altogether. Rest in peace, Blanket. read more

The level of negligence and disregard for proper post-operative care demonstrated by HOPE Foundation is unacceptable, and we feel it is necessary to report this incident. If you had a similar incident I HIGHLY encourage to report them to the California state veterinary Boards. When I arrived to pick up my puppy, I immediately noticed a foul odor emanating from her. Her tail and bottom were visibly wet, and I informed the veterinary technician that I believed she had soiled herself. I was told that this was "normal" and was not offered any assistance with cleaning her. After I left the office and helped my puppy into the backseat of my car, I noticed another unpleasant odor. Upon closer inspection, I realized that my hands were covered in a brown substance, which I later determined to be feces. The feces was smeared all over my car's back seat, and I was shocked by the extent of the mess. I tried to take a few pictures, but the situation was overwhelming as I tried to clean my puppy, who was covered in both feces and urine. The feces appeared to have been on my puppy for an extended period, as it had crusted into her paws and was present on her incision site. This led me to believe that she had been left in this condition for several hours, which I found deeply concerning. I immediately returned to the office and informed the receptionist about the state in which my puppy had been returned to me. No apology was offered. I requested towels or wipes to help clean my puppy and my car, but I was told there were no towels available and was directed to a public restroom for paper towels. No staff member offered to assist with the situation. It wasn't until my mother intervened that a staff member came out to assess the situation, at which point they took my puppy back to "clean her." However, the cleaning was inadequate, and I had to continue cleaning my puppy once I got home. After explaining the situation to my husband, he promptly called the facility to speak with a manager but received no response. He followed up with an email on the same day, stating that if my puppy developed any infections as a result of the negligence, we would expect the facility to cover the associated medical expenses. Despite several attempts by my husband to contact the facility via phone and email, we received no response until he visited in person. Throughout this process, the facility denied responsibility, and we were told that our puppy was not covered in feces, despite photographic evidence to the contrary. Unfortunately, my puppy did develop a severe urinary tract infection (UTI), which caused bleeding, straining, and incontinence. She required a week of wearing diapers to manage the condition. We consulted our primary veterinarian, who confirmed that the likely cause of the infection was the neglectful care at HOPE Foundation. According to our veterinarian, this type of infection is typically "ascending" and can result from prolonged exposure to feces and urine. We have made repeated attempts to contact HOPE Foundation to seek compensation for the additional veterinary care required to treat my puppy's infection, but to date, our calls and emails have been ignored. Update as of 9/22/2025: They emailed stating this incident does not meet the criteria for a refund. read more

Waterhouse Animal Hospital Estimate: ~$3,271 (including mandatory cardiology assessment by expensive magician who shows up only once a week) Sierra View Animal Hospital Estimate: ~$2,928 Hope Animal Foundation: $768 Note: I love the people at Waterhouse and Sierra View, my other animals still go there for regular checkups, but for surgery/procedures, they are out of my price range. On top of that, for Waterhouse and Sierra, there were a lot of "what if" scenarios in their billing/estimates where it the amount could go way over. I had an easy experience with Hope: from scheduling my visit on their website to scheduling my follow up surgery 2 weeks later. The initial assessment was thorough, the vet answered all my questions (I strongly recommend preparing a list beforehand). Hope Animal Foundation bills surgery by the hour/15 minute increments, and if they come under the estimate, they reduce the bill. Dr Reyes only took 10 mins to complete the surgery, the bulk of the time was waiting for the anesthesia to wear off. I would have had a 5 star experience but there was some miscommunication about the drop off. The issue is that the front desk worker, who was extremely helpful and polite, mentioned that the drop off process the day of surgery was to wait in the car and they would call our name in the parking lot. The process is actually to ignore the line and go to the front desk with the animal and mention you have a scheduled surgery/procedure. read more

Very frustrated by Hope right now. I had an appointment last Wednesday for a cat I found on the street. The appointment system is fine for a low cost clinic and the vaccinations were quick but I also purchased her a dewormer. When they brought the cat out after the vaccinations they handed me a dewormer tablet to administer myself. As a first time cat owner I expected them to have just done it while we were there but the tech said it would be no problem to get her to take it. Boy was she wrong (keep in mind she's from the streets. Which I told the tech). I tried several different ways to get her to take this tablet (which was the size of her mouth to begin with) including letting her try to eat it herself, the scruff and stuff method (whole and broken up), and crushing and mixing it with the liquid treat she goes crazy for. She refused, scratched the crap out of me, and I ended up having to dump it. I called to see what my options were but it was already after hours so I sent them a text (per the answering machine's instructions). It says they get back to you within 1-2 business days but I heard nothing from them. So I called today (exactly one week later) to try and figure this out. They were ZERO help. They said "we can't give you a replacement dose because it's been a week since you were here. You would have to repurchase it and we legally cannot administer it." So basically I would have to spend more money for the same tablet that she refused and they can't help me get it into her. I am beyond frustrated. Thanks for all your help, Hope. I'm trying my best to care for this cat and you can't even help me help her. Moral of the story, if you decide to go here, you better know what you're doing and have some experience because you won't get any help if you don't. read more

Took our female dog to HOPE on July 18, 2024 to get spayed. Arrived at 7:00 am, checked in by scanning a QR code (posted by the entrance). I was notified by text when they were ready to take our dog. 2 1/2 hours later, we were able to pick her up. Overall the check in and pick up process was easy and smooth. Employees were nice and friendly. The photo below was taken today 7/25/24, 1 week post op. Our dog is healing, no sign of redness just a little swollen. She was her normal self by day 3! Have to keep her in a playpen to prevent her from moving too much. We are very happy with the procedure and overall experience. Thank you to everyone at HOPE! ***Please!!!*** DO NOT take your pets here!! I had taken my fur babies in to be fixed. One was my daughters puppy that she loved so much. I am so sickened by this place and they could care less. I brought our babies home on a Friday late afternoon after getting then spayed and neutered. They were both really out of it (thinking well ya, they just had surgery). The next day they were getting even more lethargic and then the vomiting started. It being a weekend I couldn't call them like it says to do if we have any concerns. We ended up taking our babies to the ER. They wanted of course to start running test and such. Well just having them fixed I wanted to know what was going on because I felt they (Hope) should be paying for something if that's what's causing all of this. But I needed also find out what was wrong with my babies. So ya!! I had to run tests. It turns out they have tetanus. Animals don't normally get tetanus unless you have an open wound and well dirty surgery tools. We wanted the hospital to start treating them but Hope Needs to pay for their carelessness. It's now Monday and we FINALLY got a hold of Hope and they said they did nothing wrong and they weren't paying for anything. After going around and around with these people (I was Mad!!), waisting treatment time they finally said we will cover it if you take puppy's to a specific hospital. It's almost as if they knew to just waste more and more time and eventually they'll be too far gone and not have to pay for a costly treatment and/or taking the responsibility of admitting they were careless. By time we took our babies to the other ER hospital that Hope told us to go to, and our babies were examined, they said they were already too far gone. =( Yep!! Just as they planned, I believe. Basically they ended up killing our babies and did just enough to basically cover their but$$. But that doesn't matter because it will never bring mine or my daughters fur babies back. The damage is done!! Now that I look back and read all the Google and other thousands upon thousands of reviews that this same thing has happened to so many other pet lovers. It just makes me sick that I didn't look there first. Just be warned and do your research. My pets are a part of my family. And I lost not 1 but 2 that day as I'm sure others did as well. read more

Hope has very reasonable cost for spay/neuter and vaccinations so I booked it all for a kitten. Communication with the facility is 99.9% online email or text. When I attempt to call I always receivea voice message referring me to text or online. The only time I spoke to an actual person was at drop off and pick up. They were pleasant and quick to get us in and out. Once I figured out how the process works it went very smoothly and I am pleased. The only thing that bothered me is when I picked up the kitten she had pooped several times in her carrier with her inside and that's how she was released to me Poop and all. During the first time I can, I kind of got into it with the person taking my info, cause she kept making it seem like the prior shots need to get redone just because I didn't have paperwork but I just got the kitten and the prior owners stressed to me when to get the next shot by since the first round was done to avoid the very scenario of needing to redo the first set... I'm giving 2 stars simply because the surgery went good everything else communication wise did not I took my 4 month old female (Daisy) and male (Damon) golden retriever puppies here today January 20,25 to get spay and neutered during drop off everything went good the staff told me that because I have two puppies with them today to wait till I get a second text to then count 2 hrs after that text to come pick them up for example which is the example the staff gave me (if the second text comes in at 12pm you could come get them at 2pm or wait till 4 if your working or busy etc ) so in that 2 hrs the staff can monitor and make sure there's no reaction to anything and everything would be fine well my male (Damon) got done first at 10 am and my female (Daisy) got done at 12:06pm immediately after I get the text about Daisy I get a call at 12:13pm from staff that was super rude saying that they are overwhelmed my dogs are having anxiety and being very stressed and hyper (mind you I got the puppy surgery pack for both of my babies that costed me $410 dollars and medicine for discomfort and everything is included) I had asked to verify well have they received their medicine because they should not be as hyper and full of anxiety like your saying if they just came out of surgery and are all loopy I'm just trying to make sense of what she's telling me because it didn't make sense if my babies have had their medicine and just came out of surgery's they should be a little loopy she said yes they have had their medicine but their medicine is not a tranquilizer!!! and you should come get them now!!!in a super rude tone I told her unfortunately I am busy at the moment and wasn't planning on getting them till around 3 as I was given the time that they could be there till 4 and Daisy's surgery is much more invasive then Damon's so she definitely needs the 2 hrs to be monitored so I asked well why are you rushing me to come get them right now at 12:13pm when Daisy had literally just got out of surgery at 12:06 when I got the text and is supposed to wait the 2 hours anyways for being monitored after the surgery the lady on the phone was rude and did not give me a direct answer where we then shortly ended the phone call with me telling them I'll be there as soon as I can I was able to get there at 3 and I asked to speak to a supervisor because I did not like how I was spoke to over the phone and how I got anxiety if my dogs were being treated properly or not by the way the lady spoke to me on the phone and didn't have no reasonable explanation on how to handle the situation instead they were trying to rush me to come get them out as if my babies were an inconvenience to them even though I was following the instructions and was just trying to make sense of what was being said The supervisor did absolutely nothing but make excuses for the staff and company explaining how they deal with a lot of people who leave their dogs there for days and that's why they're so on top of calling people to get them to come pick them up ( so not even addressing the issue because its not that they called that's wrong it's what they said when they called!)and the supervisor then explained that they are short staffed so even though they are out of surgery they are not being monitored closely and if they pee and poop they will sit or lay in it till they notice or get the time to clean it (Are you serious right now!!!) the supervisor also stated that they do not call unless the drs have to release the dogs to be able to go home before they call well the lady on the phone never said (hey the dr released your dogs is there any way you can come get them sooner) nothing like that was communicated so my understanding is that they are trying to push my baby out earlier then needed the supervisor never apologized for how the lady spoke to me she then said that as it being a holiday monday they expect that most people would come get their dogs when they call because it's a holiday and when I said I just feel like you guys have made me feel like my babies being here have been an inconvenience to you the supervisor said well your not inconveniencing us your inconveniencing your dogs because their the ones that have to sit back there probably in their poop or pee I wouldn't know because I'm not back there I'm between two buildings but probably until someone comes and checks on them or cleans them she honestly insinuated that I created the inconvenience for my babies being left in their care because I was following directions and couldn't come get them fast enough to their liking even though the staff I spoke to when I dropped them off said if your busy that's fine just get them before 4-4:30 like are you serious once again no apologies very rude and miscommunication I should give it 0 stars but the surgery within it's self seem to have been successful so that's why I'm giving 2 stars other than that the supervisor gave a read more
