STAY AWAY!!! Southwest Medical in Pahrump, NV. Very heartless, cold and cruel place. Rude staff at…read morethe front desk and back. They treat you like your nothing and they act like they are doing you a favor by going there. They insult and belittle you if you have a question or you don't hurry up. The type of care there is mediocre at best. PILLS, PILLS, PILLS! Their answer to everything. Then they will see you in one year. When you go there, they can't seem to find your exam results. They keep charging and over billing you even when you have the receipt that you paid. They say the same thing over and over about switching to a new system. How many years does it take? Whatever. It seems promising at first (like any other deception), but the truth is revealed the more you go there, they leave you empty and bitter because you trusted fools with your life. You are better off with a band aid then Southwest Medical in Pahrump, NV. STAY AWAY!!!

I am a diabetic taking insulin, I take a blood pressure medication and blood thinner. I went to Walmart where the prescriptions were to be sent on August 14, 2019, and they didn't have them and Walmart said that they would get in contact with the Pahrump SMA and have the scripts filled. Each day, I either went to Walmart to see the status or called SMA to see the status or went to the clinic to get a paper copy. I called or visited every week day from August 13 to August 30, and I never got my prescriptions due to Southwest Medical Associates not sending the prescriptions. Additionally, I was never able to speak to the doctor or the supervisor of the Pahrump SMA clinic. Finally, on August 31, a Saturday, I went to Las Vegas SMA urgent care to get my prescriptions as the Pahrump clinic is M-F. I am being billed for the $40.00 co-pay despite telling the Las Vegas Urgent Care the problem and that I should not have to pay it. I got a bill and believe that I sent them a letter and now I am getting past-due notices. I called the billing department, who had no authority to do anything and would only transfer me to the supervisor. I hung up and hoped to speak to the Pahrump supervisor and they would only let me talk to customer service, who took all the information and said that they would get back to me within 24 business hours. Waiting to see what happens. I will never use Southwest Medical Associates again because of the roadblocks that they put up.

What a difference 2.5 years makes from when this office first opened. Don't expect to be able to see Melanie Lentz, she only does procedures and leaves the little people of Pahrump to her hired LVNs to deal with health issues. I asked for 'Crystal' for mom 91 yo mom's 3rd annual checkup because when we first went there, she was patient, kind, and willing to listen. Not so this trip. She was rude, a bully to my mom, and just downright disrespectful to us both. It started out bad because she was upset that my mom hadn't answered all the 'depression assessment' questions before we got into the exam room. These questions were difficult and lengthy, and I knew would be hard for her to read, understand, and answer. In the waiting room. After lecturing me that I could have asked for them to be sent before the appt ( which I was not aware she would have to fill all this out, and we were not told to be there early to do the paperwork-which I was told I should have known it anyway and got another accusatory lecture) crystal proceeded to say if SHE had to to it it will take a very long time! Then proceeded again to rudely and angrily ask my 91 yo mom the questions-confusing her, causing her great stress , and getting her very agitated! Crystal only doubled down on being rude, loud, and getting louder when my mom didn't understand the questions or the answers she was to provide. My mom finally started to break down and ask ' why are you asking me these questions, I can't answer these anymore.' She had become very distressed. There was no compassion or generosity towards my mom, or me, only more impatience, forceful manner, and incredulous behavior from crystal. When she finally got thru the last 2 questions, it just got worse. When I'd made the appt, I'd asked that we'd get a diagnosis or opinion on if my mom had dementia or not. Mainly because to me it's obvious she does have acute mental decline, that's getting worse, and crystal was so incredibly rude and accusatorial about the request, she was further distressing my mom. I explained I thought it important to have an assessment because if she did have dementia, we'd be able to get her the care she may need. Crystal wanted concrete examples, I gave her a few situations but she responded that it just sounded like my mom just didn't 'understand what was being asked of her,' or in another situation, 'she just sounded confused waking up from a nap,' which was absolutely not the situation she was in. There are many smaller larger 'examples,' but I didn't realize it would be expected-so I wasn't prepared. I expected a more official medical initial exam be a doctor (well, 'LVN'). But no, she wanted a log kept of the situations, instead of requesting a full exam and official diagnosis done, even saying she would refuse to do it anyway. When I challenged her on her behavior and unprofessional attitude, she basically threw me and my 91yo mom out of her exam room saying I'd have to find another provider...which I most definitely will be doing. There is no excuse for how Crystal handled my mom, me, and this appt. The front office ladies and the assistant were all decently helpful, but crystal was condescending, rude, and greatly distressed my mom. I'll be reporting her behavior to Melanie Lentz and any NV licensing board necessary to make sure it is known she is not the type of 'LVN' to take an elderly person to if you want to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
