On our first visit, the one volunteer who actually seemed to care about getting their pups into a good home was frantically trying to find a dog who had gotten lost after breaking out of his collar on his walk. Understandably, she couldn't give us her full attention, and the other volunteers there didn't really seem to care about helping us. It was like pulling teeth to ask one of the volunteers what the adoption process entailed. We decided to come back the following day. The dog we had been looking at had been adopted--which is great! I hope he found an excellent home! The new crew of volunteers in on that day were just as blase as the one volunteer the day prior. One woman insisted that we decide on a breed we want, pre-pay the application and adoption fee, so that when our ideal breed comes in, we can just scoop them up! Except that we weren't looking for a breed, we were looking for a personality. She didn't seem to understand that, and kept saying that the only way to get the dog you want these days is to pre-adopt based on breed. Nope. No thanks. The facilities themselves were great, the volunteers blew it.

Our almost 19 year old doggie, Buddy, who was the best dog that ever lived, finally got to a place where life was overwhelming for him. We had heard about Dr. Ann from friends, who couldn't have been more impressed with her. This wasn't the first time we had called her. She reminded us that we'd called literally 2 years before then. Having thought that our dog was terminally ill at the time, but having been happily proven wrong, we had cancelled her visit. This time, however, we were sadly right. Dr. Ann came at the pre-arranged time, and spent a long time with Buddy and with us, answering all our questions and confirming we were making the right decision. What is so good about Ann is her peaceful and caring spirit that Buddy so quickly acknowledged, making his way over to her and nuzzling her as soon as they met. She helped us understand that sometimes animals love us so much that they hold on to be with us to make us happy. As soon as she gave Buddy the first of the staged pain-killing injections, and we saw how he became so completely relaxed for the first time in such a long time, we found ourselves also able to relax and be with him totally while he left us. Over the years I have had the occasion to take old or injured family pets in for euthanasia. But now that I understand what a much better experience it is for everyone involved to have your pet die at home, I will never do it another way. Animals give us so much love and pleasure, we owe them the added kindness of having their death occur in an area where they feel safe and at ease, and not in a vet's office. There is no better person than Dr. Ann to help you through that terribly sad time.

The level of unprofessionalism is unbelievable. Communication was sloppy, accountability was nonexistent, and the overall attitude was dismissive at best. Aspen Creek clearly has no respect for clients, their property, or basic standards of care. I will not be paying for services that never happened, especially after dealing with the damage they caused. Save yourself the time, the money, and the headache -- there are plenty of veterinary practices out there that actually know how to show up, do their job, and treat customers with basic respect. Aspen Creek is not one of them.

Immediately I felt the peace come over me when his receptionist asked all the right questions and then actually listened compasionately to my responses! Amazing! She found me a spot for my Nala to be seen and within 2 hours Dr Curt was performing magic. Even tho I was being squeezed in and Nala wasn't his patient, he still took his time and was thorough, compassionate, kind, and most importantly extremely knowledgeable. I emphasize knowledgeable! His price was honest and very fair. Outstanding service! 5 stars! I will continue to drive the 3 hours if he will have us. Finding a quality vet, let's face it any servicer these days, who truly cares and isn't just trying to make money is a rare gem and worth the drive! Nala continues to fight and is holding steady!
