My son has been at Hope since late 2019... I could not be happier at this school! It's not just school for him (or us) it's a family. Communication between teachers and parents is super easy. They're helpful respectful, loving and nurturing to everyone who attends or visits. I've suggested this school to all my family and friends over the years, I'm so grateful for Hope truly

Hope has delivered more than expected for the education of our child. Small class sizes, friendly/loving/safe environment, family oriented, strong focus on math, science, vocab, etc. They are a well-rounded school with a fantastic administration that ensures your child will get a great experience. Academics is obviously very important, but so are extracurricular after-school activities such as: football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, meet up's, field trips, etc. Most recently, there was grandparents day, half day event where students could share their school with grandma or grandpa. Our child has excelled in Hope's loving environment. He was once a shy kid, but he now beams with confidence and self-assurance. Would highly recommend them for the education of your children.

Hope is a small, well-rounded school that gives a lot of attention to its students and parents. All 3 of my children have attended since kindergarten and have thoroughly enjoyed their teachers, friends, classes and extra activities, including various sports and dramatic performances. The families are inclusive and caring. Most importantly, it's a place where children feel loved through the power of Christ. Those who enroll and get involved quickly become part of a school family that strives to excel in academics and so much more.

My husband served as a local pastor for many years, and I spent three decades as an educator, including teaching in nearby Azusa. Our five daughters grew up here, so our family has deep roots and friendships throughout Glendora. Today I am a grandmother, and two of my grandchildren attend Sandburg Middle School. We appreciate the many teachers and staff who work hard every day to support students. Our family does face some health challenges. My grandchildren live with autoimmune conditions that sometimes cause physical pain and emotional strain, and their mother -- a dedicated social worker -- manages lupus and fibromyalgia while continuing to work full time and care for her children. Because of this, occasional issues with absences or timing can arise. One small example happened this morning when my daughter arrived just one minute late turning in a required form. The immediate response from the front office was "no exceptions." Several minutes were spent explaining the rule, when perhaps those same few minutes could have been used to help find a solution -- such as assisting with submitting the form to the staff in the gymnasium. Policies are important, but so is the tone in which they are delivered. A moment of empathy and problem-solving can make a tremendous difference for families navigating health challenges or difficult circumstances. As a retired educator who worked closely with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, I have seen how impactful empathy training and family-centered leadership can be. My hope is that Glendora Unified School District continues to strengthen training for staff and administrators in areas such as empathy, cultural awareness, and understanding the mental and physical health realities many families face today. Glendora is a wonderful community, and with continued growth in these areas, our schools can reflect the same care, flexibility, and support that make this city such a special place for families.

During those years I had severe asthma and weighed about 90 pound. another student attacked me and I was compelled to defend myself. Both of use were sent to the vice principal for fighting. The vice principal Gadel hit both of us with a large wooden paddle leaving welts. On another occasion I witnessed a gym coach Moses grab another students penis in the locker room and said " let me help you with that ". These experiences negatively affected me throughout my remaining school years. I did not want to participate in any school activities I just wanted out. St. Lucy's integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. Though it is a small High School, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving the girls more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within your daughter- their good behaviors and achievements; and they know the importance of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful, approachable manner. I certainly didn't have one like this when I was in middle school. I hope it inspires 6th through 8th graders to dream big and start thinking about what they are passionate about and start working hard towards those possible futures. Sierra Vista has two leadership tracks for students who are interested: one is ASB which is mostly in charge of rallies and school functions and the other is WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) which is designed to have 7th and 8th graders orient and welcome new students including 6ty graders. Both sets of leadership students had important roles on today's career day. The WEB students designed all the Peanuts and Snoopy themed decorations of the event and gave a speech to welcome the presenters to Career Day. The ASB students guided the presenters to the Professional Development room next to the school library as well as to their respective classrooms. These leadership students were very polite, respectful, and did an excellent job representing their school and making the presenters such as myself feel welcome and glad to participate. Well done, Sierra Vista, to the whole team that made today happen! Thank you to the guidance counselors for overseeing and planning the day and to the PTA for providing the breakfast and lunch!! I look forward to next year!
