I am truly grateful for MUSC for many reasons, especially this hospital being located in the area…read more With the appointments my dad has here, the care and service provided have been excellent and deeply appreciated. Having access to quality medical care is especially important in a rural community, where medical services are often limited. The staff and doctors do everything they can to help, and that level of care truly matters. This review also highlights the cafeteria located in the hospital. When we take my dad to his appointments, we often arrive either in the morning or around lunchtime, so I'm very familiar with their breakfast options. Their breakfast is honestly one of a kind. I usually opt for the grits, eggs, and bacon, but they also offer breakfast rice, which is really good. There are several other options to choose from as well. I don't have a photo of breakfast, but it's always been a solid choice. More recently, I went with my dad to another doctor's appointment, and by the time he was finished, they were serving lunch. I had never tried their lunch before, so I thought it was the perfect time. On the hot bar, they had pasta and meatballs along with other Italian-style dishes, which aren't usually my go-to. However, my sister mentioned that the grill was open--and if you know me or are familiar with my reviews, you know I'm never turning down a good burger. I ended up getting a burger with cheese and regular fries. They also offer tater tots, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. I was hungry, and the burger definitely hit the spot--it was good. I would absolutely recommend eating from the cafeteria. They also have a salad bar, a Subway, and a Starbucks located across the hall in a small shop. Overall, MUSC continues to be a place I'm thankful for--both for the care they provide and the thoughtful amenities that make long appointment days a little easier.

My gripe is how doctors have you waiting forever without much of a check up to let you know why. I do understand sometimes other appointments may go over . However my time is also valuable ! My nurse was patient and friendly while talking general medical information and vital signs . Checking out their general medicine , orthopedics and gastrointestinal! All doctors were pleasant just the time of the appointment should reflect .

Happy I followed my gut and took my baby to mcloud. Mcloud is the reason she is still alive. If a hospital has no nicu they should not have a labor and delivery. Update my baby is still in the hospital in Columbia if she was out in a nicu she wouldn't still be in the hospital now. We have been here for 2 weeks now and counting.

So, nobody in this God forsaken town has a clue what that is but they MAY have heard of POTS (which is a form of Dysautonomia). So I should have known from our inpatient stay in August, at MUSC Florence (which is what this hospital is now, not CHS). First off, test were not run at appropriate times, 2ndly the male NP in the ER, I think his name was Summerfield, looked like he has just crawled out of bed. T-shirt was on inside out, his scrubs were too small and his gut was hanging out and his FLESH was shining in the ER. The room was dirty. Needle caps, etc in the floor so it's no wonder you leave the hospital sicker than when you came. They have a few marvelous docs & nurses, but we only saw 1-2 in November and none in August. They almost killed my child. Wouldn't give him his meds cuz he didn't have an assigned dr when we got on the floor (that's what his LPN-Linda told us). Then they say he's in a-fib. FREAK OUT #70 by now. Btw, the technician told us that and he WAS NOT! So, no meds for the night but some Tylenol that he's allergic to, (he takes more meds than I do including heart meds). I brought ALL his RX bottles so they could see his meds. Written by a local dr/hospitalist at that. My son was dosed with 1000 mgs of Keppra and then less than 18 hrs later hooked to a 24 hr eeg video monitoring system. He was severely dehydrated. No nurses coming in to check like they should. Not checking his bp. Supposed to be checking on his every 2-3 hours at night but didn't happen and we were there over 24 hours before we got IV fluids or saw a dr. I had to threaten them with a lawyer to get IV fluids and the fraudulent billing ......another story entirely. omg. I worked for BCBS and I did billing. These people not only try to kill you but want you to go broke at the same time. If you have another option. Take it. If my son has to go to ER again, we will bypass Florence and go straight to Charleston. I feel so bad for patients who go up they're alone. God help them. If you have a loved one who's staying overnight in the hospital....you better be there. So you know what's going on. Advocate for your loved ones who aren't able to do so for themselves. We had a couple really nice nurses, but otherwise everyone we saw sucked. The supervisorS I was complaining to were very nice and there were several of them. They were rude. Liars. Hateful. Disheveled and basically didn't know what to do without asking someone else. They'd come check the nurse board every 4-5 hrs and Fill it in as though they came every hr or 2 like they were supposed to and got mad because we erased it. That's fraud. I have videos and pics of everything that went on and ALL notes and we are seeing a REAL neurologist who knows about my kids illness today. Crying shame I have to go to Camden to see a cardiologist and Sumter to see a Neurologist who even know what Dysautonomia is. For any docs who actually read these, it's 2020. DO NOT TELL YOUR PATIENTS YOU'RE IGNORANT! Try Google. They lose faith in your ability and you lose face because you don't know! It's very common and you're probably misdiagnosing people with other things who really have Dysautonomia! WAKE UP PEOPLE. Educate yourself! www.dysautonomiainternational.org By the way, we HAVE found an Internal medicine guy here who didn't know what my son has either, but we referred to him by Dr Owen and he's been a TRUE GOD SEND! He has made every effort to learn about Todd's illness and has all kinds of information on my son and on Dysautonomia. There are amazing docs in Florence who really do what you to feel better, not just dollar bills. Thank you God for Dr E!!! We love him and are so thankful for him & his precious family too!
