Do not adopt from this agency. We were foster to adoption and the puppy had to go to the vet because she had bloody diarrhea. From that point forward it was a rush to get the adoption paperwork done so she had no liability anymore. She doesn't care about the dogs she only cares about her. What a piece of work and she is the only person in charge so if you try to talk to someone else, there is no one else to talk to. I had stomach flu in the hospital but I better get home and get my paperwork completed and because it was not done she adopted the dog to someone else. What a crappy person!! It might be cheaper with her but not worth the headach. read more

Please do your research on this business before adopting a rescue from them. I adopted an adult dog who they said they were going to spay, but then didn't. They only tested for heartworm and gave 2 vaccinations. They sent her to me with kennel cough and didn't follow their own policies for meeting the entire family. When questioning their practices, i was met with extreme hostility. Please know there are other rescues that spend more time making sure a dog is the right fit for your family and that do offer trial periods. This rescue does not. They will take your money and say they have to revet any dog turned back in, which is total b.s. Again, please do your research on rescues before choosing this organization. read more

DESPICABLE EXPERIENCE. We adopted a dog that we believe Hoping Fur a Home/the Foster knew was dog aggressive. They lied about her behavior/completely glossed over it, to make it seem like it was much better than it actually was so we would adopt her. Then when it was VERY CLEAR that she was meant to live in a one dog home, because our other dog was PETRIFIED to be around her and we feared for his safety, we were then guilted and shamed into trying to keep the newly adopted dog, because we didn't give her the adequate "time." I was SCHOCKED that an animal advocate in the community would place one animal's wellbeing over another's, because it caused them an inconvenience in rehoming. It was a terrible decision to make, but when we adopted our other dog, we also made a promise to him that we would protect, care and love him. Hoping Fur a Home led our family and the adopted dog into a dangerous situation. They were setting us up for failure and then gaslit us when we said we didn't think we were the best fit. They also asked me to write a bio for the dog and when they posted the bio, they edited my words to make the dog seem more dog friendly than she was, essentially trying to set another unsuspecting family up for failure. However, Amanda, the President was completely unprofessional in her communications. Just sending emails with attachments and no directions or emails with the type of directions that only someone in the foster circle would be able to comprehend. I don't care if you don't agree with our decision, but it's your job to handle this, so do so with some decorum. She also randomly told us to take her to the vet and I said we wouldn't, unless they paid or refunded us (which is against the contract, however, I didn't care at this point.) I felt used and taken advantage of and the only reason I was being cordial at this point was, because I loved the dog. I wanted to stay involved, because I know it was my responsibility to make sure she got into the correct type of forever home, because that agency sure as hell didn't give a damn about her. Oh, and now my original dog has behavior issues due to being attacked so many times. So, thanks Hoping Fur a Home and Amanda go to therapy. STAY VERY FAR AWAY. read more

I had a great experience with Hoping Fur a Home. We adopted a sweet, calm, one year old dog who had already had puppies. The shelter took two checks from us, one for the rehoming fee and one for a spay deposit. If you don't send them proof of spay within the first month, they cash your deposit check. If you send them proof they shred your deposit check. We had such a good experience and got such a good dog that we recommend them to everyone. My brother in law also adopted a dog from Hoping Fur a Home and had a positive experience as well. I would recommend this shelter to anyone. read more
