Lighted basket ball court that they flood & turn into an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter complete with "warming" center with a snack bar, bathrooms, etc. Extremely basic playground, a few toddler swings, a few big kid swings, a slide, etc, but it is fenced in (there are openings in the fence though, & they're open, not gated), with a bubbler, a picnic table, & a big tree that provides a nice shady spot no matter what the time of the day is or where the sun is. It's kept up really well, they do a nice job keeping the grass & shrubs trimmed. Conveniently located less than 1 mile from all of the schools in Jaffrey & from Jaffrey's town center & main street. Parking on the street & across the street. The grade school uses the area on field days for the higher grades. Cons: No gates on the openings to the playground. Small, so if there are more than a few people there you're kind of "on top" of each other. I've seen it get super crowded on game days. It's Jaffrey, so if you are there at the same time as some "townies" & they're chatty you might get stuck having to make small-talk with people you'd rather not get stuck having to chat with. The parking on the street & across the street can get super crowded on game days & big trucks & XL SUV's frequently park on the street leaving their vehicles sticking out into the street... Overall: I think having the ice skating rink in the winter really "makes" this area. During warmer winters when the lakes don't freeze over for very long it is nice to have somewhere to go to ice skate.

They have 3 softball-baseball fields although one is too small to be used for adults. They have a skate park one of the only one within 30-minutes in any direction an outdoor basketball court that is in good condition for how old it is and how much use it gets. There are a lot of good games here and the skate park sees a lot of activity. The fields are packed for almost all of the spring and summer so it is harder to walk on. If you want to walk on for a pick up game go to ConVal or PES. There is a pool that i think opens in late June or early July and there is a playground area for the kids that has been kept in good condition. Ecco field (closest to the road) is doubled for soccer use and because of that there is no fence in right but that adds a neat feature for that. skating for hockey or just skating in the winter, sometimes is hard to keep maintained but they do a good job all things considering. Parking is hard to come by if they have a lot of people playing softball on all the fields. Some scrap construction materials laying around so you need to keep an eye on your kids for that. Tennis courts that have been kept in very good condition. One of the best features of any town in the area.

There's a bubbler there which is nice on hot summer days & a few trees provide some shade, although depending on the time of day & where the sun is, there are times when the heat is just unbearable & there's really very little shade. There are benches scattered all over the playground & two picnic tables under the trees, next to the rhododendron bushes. Across the street there are bathrooms in the little building next to the baseball fields. They're usually pretty gross but hey, they service both areas & there's only 1 woman's stall & 1 men's stall so it's not surprising. Next to the playground there's a pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, big gazebos, & a big (mostly) shaded parking lot.

My family has been enjoying Stoughton Pond for many years…read more Since I was a kid, we have been going there for picnics, swimming, hiking, and family get togethers. SP is great because it is local, and not too many people use it. It is rarely crowded, and the beach and picnic area is always immaculately clean. There are bathrooms and a changing area as well. So much wildlife to see here. The best of all, the park is free to use. There is a shelter, for groups to use for a nominal fee. Trash is carry in and out, and there is a No pets rule :-( There is a ton of land here with some wonderful hiking trails well off from the picnic area. A wonderful Vermont resource.

The bouncy houses somewhat obscure your view of the children so it is hard to make sure that older kids are not being too rough with the young ones. My daughter went down the slide and slammed her crotch on another kid's leg. She started to cry and the employee said she had been crying awhile when I thanked her for getting my daughter out, as she was 4 feet closer to the bounce house than I was. Often my daughter does not seek "rescue" when she gets hurt anyways. I usually see if she wants to come to me or not. My friend's daughter was with my daughter when it happened and we all could see that she had not been "crying for quite awhile". We were standing around the corner from the employee and out of sight to her, but we were watching the whole time. I found it pretty rude. It is an okay place to let kids blow off steam, but I like the overall set up at Twice the Fun in Dover better and the staff are more friendly. By the way, if they truly thought I was in violation of their rules or was not watching my daughter, they should have said it in a more professional manner instead of a snide remark. I think it was unprofessional.

I cancelled our membership for our two kids because we were moving and was charged for 2 months…read moreafter the cancellation. I have had to call there four or five times and still have only received half of what is owed back to me. Often times the staff has to take a message and they say they will be sure to pass it along but you may want to call back the owner your self-seems like they know she is not going to follow through with any type of refund unless you hound her. I have spoken to the owner 3 times and have left voice mails. Each time she says she will take care of it right away and then doesn't. Frustrating! It is also nerve racking with my two and three year old because many parents of the older kids do not pay attention to what they are doing and how rough they are being around the younger ones. My son loves the loop with the cars but my daughter has been taken out while trying to cross it. They need to figure out a way to make it more safe. Both kids do have fun but is stressful as a parent to go there when there are a lot of checked out parents of older kids. I would have given it a three if it was not for my on-going refund issue.

Free lock and towells to borrow. state of the art water fountains to fill up a bottle and vending machines if you don't want to leave for a snack. Be warned, its not just students and the older crowds don't like to wear towels in locker rooms. Keep your head up when you walk in. Free for students. Parking available with permit. If you forget your UCard, you get in 2 times a semester (I think, don't quote me on that) with just your ID number. Much better than a $10 gym at home. If you commute, go here before you go home and save the expense.
