I'm glad we stopped and tried this place, but it's not really my thing. When we walked in, it took a minute to figure out how things worked....noone was around to greet or seat us, so we went to the bartender and he took our order even letting me know which foods might have an allergen. Our food came out in a timely manner, but we were one of maybe 3 groups there so that wasn't surprising. Unfortunately the food was really bland. Like...really really bland...and within 15 minutes of leaving, I started to show signs of having eaten something I am allergic to. Maybe it was cross contamination, maybe it was just him not knowing for sure what ingredients are used, but that is dangerous. Food allergies are no joke, especially when it causes anaphylaxis. It seems a lot of people enjoy this spot, and I hope they continue to support this local business, but I won't be visiting again. read more

Wow! Really impressed with this cool spot. Built in a former grain mill, next to the railroad tracks in sleepy Leesburg, IN. Plenty of outdoor seating that is protected from sun and rain. Parking seemed to get a bit tight as the evening wore on, but folks were parked in the grass and seemed to make do. Extremely friendly and patient service. We ordered a flight first. You fill out a piece of paper with your four choices and they serve them up on a numbered board. Generous pours. I really liked their beers. I especially enjoyed The Fury of Vic Citra IPA, the No-Bake Cookie Porter (I enjoy beers brewed with peanut butter) and the Milford Ditch black IPA. The Milford Ditch was so tasty that I ended up getting a full pour in addition to my flight tasting. Wish they had it in bottles or at least to-go in a growler, but unfortunately, they did not. Would have loved to bring that one home to Bloomington. The food is also very good. I was seriously not expecting to find such delicious food in this neck of the woods. No offense to those of you who live in the area. The house-smoked brisket sandwich was perhaps the best I have EVER had. The slaw and chips were good too. My friends had the tacos and the hummus and snack plates. My partner loved the tacos, she chose to go meatless and instead just had the smoked black beans and slaw. She loved it. We had so much fun that we ended up buying two of their porter glasses with their logo on them. Highly recommend this place. If you like great beer and great food, this spot is for you. read more

Amazing food and amazing brews in an awesome facility. When I was there, I tried the beer cheese pretzels. I'm having a hard time coming up with an example of a place with a pretzel/cheese combination served elsewhere that comes close to how good these were. In the beverage department, I had the amazing opportunity to try Smells Like Disc Golf on release day. Every IPA I've ever had from Hoplore has been of the highest quality, but this was especially fresh and delicious. The deck is a great cool hangout spot on a hot summer day! Love Hoplore! read more

The good news, they have OK beer.... That's where the positives ended. The outside seating area was covered in bird crap, the paint is peeling off of the building, the server is not very friendly(maybe he is to regulars, but I'll never find out), the food was overpriced and lacked flavor, & the general vibe was not positive. I know the options in Leesburg are limited, but if I lived in town I'd have to move... Save yourself the time and find somewhere that works as hard to earn your money as you do to make it. This brewery is located on the outskirts of Leesburg next to a farm field and a RailRoad tracks. The brewery is house in a old granary. It's is a super cool space that you immediately feel welcome in. Our bartender Blake was super helpful and took time to explain not only their beers but all the beers they have on tap. He recommended the Milford Ditch triple IPA. It was super tasty. We had the Bavarian Pretzels with hot beer cheese and the prime rib sandwich special. It was fabulous!!!! We went out to eat for the first time In ages. Hopelore advertised having smoked Ruben on st Patrick day so we came here. Place was busy but we decided to stay and order food. 45 minutes later I asked one of the helpers about our food. He replies that they were swamped. An hour and a half later I flagged down another person who then apologized and got our food ready to carry out. He also didn't charge us for the food. I like their beers, but if you are going to be a restaurant then you need to get better wait staff and follow up with your customers. read more

They were super easy to work with, well priced, the food provided for catering was delicious (and they picked the menu, not me), beer/cider was fantastic, and the staff was super helpful and polite throughout our time there. Wow! Just driving on a back road and what we see, a brewing house that is awesome! We got the bbq charcuterie board that was out of this world. Then their taco's were really good! Then they had a special today-seafood Pho, who would have thought. The HopLore Blackberry Cobbler has a great taste. Great IPA's and a band on Saturday. Glad we stopped! The people that work here are very nice and will ask you what kind of beers you like to drink, they're very knowledgeable. Great food. Lots of places to park! I try to come here every other weekend. You won't find a bad beer. Update: I had one sample of a beer, and then when I asked for a second one, they got real tight about it and asked me how many beers I had sampled? I love this place...it's located to the east of town across the tracks in a building designated the old mill...great place. The beers are as good as they come and the prices are excellent. I would not have imagined that the food would be as good as it was but it is created and tasty and will not break the budget by a long shot. Its such a tiny brewery but they have plenty of beers to sample. If you go be sure to order the house-made pulled pork tacos topped with jalapeno strawberry jam and Amish style peanut butter...very good and worthy of any place that serves beer! read more

I live in Columbus,OH but grew up in IN. I was visiting my parents lakehouse and had seen this place last summer. I was finally able to go and brought my parents who are not beer people but always enjoy a nice drink with family. . . The beers were diverse in option and full-bodied! Though the bartender poured 3 wrong, he immediately corrected it, no questions asked and was very polite. Great beer! Nice patio and friendly people. Dog friendly outside which is great! We tried calling to find out about dogs prior to arrival but they didn't answer. Found out from a bartender you can totally bring your dog. You can do a flight (4 -6oz for $10) or sample as many as you wish. Try the porter- yum! read more
