Mission and story on the menu was very inspiring! Friendly staff with a family dining area in front and a sport bar area in back. We started out with beer cheese and bread and I ordered the Berried in the Sand (raspberry!) and husband ordered Hoppy Daze (IPA). Mine was smooth and tasty. Brandi recommended the Brewberry, in which she gave us a sample. It was very good! Husband ordered the pulled pork poutine and I ordered the caesar salad. We fully enjoyed our maiden voyage to Man Cave. Not sure what to expect when we pulled up to Man Cave but we were pleasantly surprised. Food, atmosphere and service was good. Our server was attentive, friendly and offered suggestions on food and beer. We had the Southwest Poutine and the Three Little Bigs burger. Southwest poutine was made with sweet potato waffle fries, chorizo and served with salsa and sour cream, it was very good and the burger was packed with meat and flavor. The beer was good, easy drinking for a summer afternoon on the lake or deck. Not a lot of full flavor beer options when we visited, a few were unavailable. read more

So, I have been to Man Cave Brewing Company a few times. The first time was in November of 2019. The second time was this past June. Both times, the food was pretty good. I don't remember what I had to eat the first time, but this past June I had the burger with Boursin on it. Pretty good, although it could use a tad more Boursin. However, on the beer side of things, I was not impressed at all. To put it in perspective, I brew beer at home, judge beer competitions, and have worked at breweries professionally. In November when I went, the beers were ok. However, one of the things I experienced was that the beers had an acetic acid (acetaldehyde) taste. This can make it taste sour, or vinegar like. At the time, they didn't have only their beers on tap, and had a guest beer on. To rule out production issues, I ordered a pint of the guest beer, and it was the same flavor. This lead me to believe they had dirty lines or taps. So, I messaged them, letting them know where I was coming from in experience, and what I tasted, in order to bring it to their attention. They read it, but never responded. When I went back in June, it was even worse. I ordered their IPA on tap, and it was almost as sour as a Gose. One person at my table ordered a flight, and each one tasted sour. And someone else ordered their Kolsch, and it was also sour. I hate to have this happen to them. Hopefully this will help them out, and they read this and take it as constructive criticism. read more

All beers taste like sours. They must have a virus problem. There beer before was ok to good but now unless you like a little sour in all your beers this is a pass. That being said their food is really good. I can't get passé the spurs though. They really need to shut down and get rid of the problem and restart. I know that is a burden cost and labor wise but they need to do it. read more

A gem in regards to beer options for the region! I live in OH and love the microbrew scene, I came here with family over the summer. I was thoroughly impressed with the variety of beers brewed and the depth of flavor. A lot of breweries seem to make multiple varieties of the msame type of beer so if you don't like gose you're SOL - not here! The hefeweizen did have an odd color but the wheats wheats and lagers were on POINT. Crisp, light and refreshing with a moderate ABV, perfect for the lake. I bought 2 growlers to take home. Fam was skeptical they'd get finished by the end of vacation, they were both gone within a few hours of floating on the lake :) read more

We were in town for a mini-getaway and stopped by here for dinner. We arrived just as it opened for dinner. We walked in from the front which I guess is a coffee shop which was closed. We actually had to be assisted to walk all the way in to get to the brewery since they didn't have any signage indicating that. We even mistakenly sat down. We definitely recommend them to include a sign to head to the brewery in the back for non-locals such as ourselves. It was quite empty at that time but seemed like a good size space with multiple seating options. We skipped appetizers and went straight to a flight of beer, entrees and burgers. Another recommendation is to fix the menu since it did not indicate that the entrees come with a salad and side. However, it's unfortunate you could not substitute a salad for a soup. For drinks, we recommend ordering a flight of beer to try out the various kinds they have on tap. Nothing rang our bell as they all had a sour aftertaste. If beer isn't your thing they also have wine and special cocktails. The pork-beef burger was alright. The tomato could have been sliced much thinner. There was a lack of sauce on the burger. The loaded au gratin potatoes were good with cheese but could have been more loaded with some bacon bits. We also ordered the chicken with waffles. It's quite a large order for one person. Would love to see a half order size instead. The salad was good but could've used more tomatoes and possibly Parmesan cheese. If we had to come here again, we'd ordered a different burger, likely the 100% beef burger, not the pork-beef mix. Also in terms of plating, I think they could use a more unified approach. Did not care for the different colored plates that the food came on. Presentation does a lot for the palate and the green plate with my chicken just didn't hit the same. read more

I have been here twice and received the same great food and excellent service both times. The outdoor patio is casual and comfortable. A wonderful place to enjoy food and sinks with friends. I've had different burgers each time and they were delish, I want to try some of their other dishes sometime. Their drinks are flavorful and strong! This place is so good! I have yet to try anything here I haven't liked. If they have the shaved Brussels sprouts or broccolini as the side dish on the night you go there, make sure to try them. Ridiculously delicious. The service is quick and accurate and the kitchen obviously knows how to crank out superb food that arrives quickly and perfectly cooked. The beers I have tried have all been very good to great, and I would say the "Aye Aye PA" is super great. Highly recommend the Elvis burger, the bourbon chicken sandwich (it's spicy, sticky, and wonderful,) and the onion rings. Go try Man Cave, you won't regret it! read more

I have been to ManCave on several occasions and went there this evening with some friends that have been there many many times. I ordered a beer and it was extremely sour so I asked the waitress if I could get something different. I did not drink the first beer at all, other than to taste, she brought me a second one which was equally sour. Two other people at our table also tried it and agreed that something was wrong. I did not drink the second beer either, but I expected that I would have to pay for it. when the bill came both the first and second beer were on the hill. I checked with the waitress who was very nice and attentive and she said she would have to check with the manager. The manager finally came to our table and told me that she would take off the cost of the first beer but told me that 30 other people had ordered the beer that night and no one else had complained, she said I must've eaten something that made the beer taste bad. This manager handled the situation in the very worst way. Instead of apologizing, she tried to shame me and tell me I was wrong about the beer. Although I am sure this manager doesn't care, my wife and I will never come back to this establishment again. read more

Food is great. Beer is disappointing, tried 2 different styles both were flat and tasteless. It was like drinking poorly flavored water. I have had Man Cave in the past and I'm a big proponent of a local brewery but it seems that something is wrong with the process. I'll keep trying it and hope that it changes. Overall the pub is great, just need to fix whatever is causing the flat beer. 3 stars because of the beer. Fix that and it could be 4 or 5. read more

We had a meal in the bar there tonight. We had a very mediocre dinner that included an over cooked medium ordered burger and a BLT that had bacon that was so hard that it was dry and had no taste. I mentioned very nicely one of our two concerns about our meal to our waitress. We received no compensation other than "I will notify our chef". I will say on a positive note? I am giving Cave Man brewing 5 stars for the awesome food and the superb service. I was underwhelmed with the beer. We had 4 people with us. One of the people runs a beer blog reviewing beer. He said give this place 5 years to figure it out and it will be great. I though all of the beers we tried started well but seemed to have under developed profiles and finishes. Ok on to the food. We had the pork belly sliders, beer cheese, classic poutine, and fried pickles to start. The beer cheese is a mild cheese with ale and toasted in a cast iron skillet. It was very good. The poutine was robust and super yummy. The stars of the show were the friend pickles- I would call them pickle fries and the pork belly sliders. They were both awesome. The sliders were glazed to perfection. Two of the group had Cajun grouper and I had the steak pork burger. The Cajun grouper was the best. The bourbon bacon cupcake for desert is a must try. The crisp brownie with ice cream in a hot cast iron skillet is something to write home about. Overall this is a super cool place to go and hang out.
