I did not ask them about a service fee. The technician showed up on Wednesday an hour and 1/2 later than the window they gave me. He didn't have the hardware needed, he was not knowledgeable as we explained 3 times to him what we had discussed with the scheduler. He was here 10 minutes, told us he would be unable to get the hardware until next week, we are leaving on vacation Sunday so needed done by end of week. He spent 10 MINUTES, didn't do anything, and charged us $146.00 for the visit from Brandon to Tampa. This company is ridiculous, I called the manager and was told that their service fee is $164 so I'm getting nothing back on my $146; what a waste. I live in a single family home. I am 82 year old and handicapped. After my husband's passing I had Sheppard Security install a camera near my front door as I was getting groceries delivered but they would not always ring my doorbell as I instructed in my delivery instructions. Also, sometimes I had strangers come to my house. Last Sunday at 6:30 P.M. I had two men come to my door but I did not recognize them so I did not answer my door. They started walking back and forth and keep ringing my doorbell. Then they went to my hose in front of my master bedroom window and turn it on. At that point I called 911. I spoke to an officer and told him of my situation and he said he would send an Officer to my home. Meanwhile one man stayed in front of my home and I lost sight of the other man. They had a SUV parked in front of my home with both passenger doors open and the hatch open. They were here for at least 20 minutes and I asked the officer on the phone at 911 when somebody was going to help me. He then told me that nobody could come because they were taking care of more serious problems then mine. Those two men were here at least 40 minutes. They finally left. On Monday I called Sheppard Security and talked to Joe their IT man. I told Joe I would like to have 4 more cameras installed around my home. On Sunday I was really scared because I could not tell where the second man was during the time they were here. I spoke to Jim the owner of Sheppard Security on Wednesday and he told me that the Cameras had been ordered and that he would make sure that the Cameras would be installed quickly. Friday morning Joe and another technician came and up dated my old camera and installed 4 new Cameras. They worked quickly and made sure that all five cameras were wired in and adjusted them so that I can see the 4 sides of my home. They also made sure that everything was clean after installing all of the new wiring. They were here for several hours. If I could I would give Sheppard Security, Jim the owner and Joe and the other Technician 20 stars. In this day and age it is nice to find a Company and their staff who takes pride in their workmanship and treats their customers with respect. They make you feel they have your back and that you are important to them. I think you can only get this kind of service from a family owned company.

I called and was told it would be between $350-500 to have someone come out to perhaps upgrade the system. I was LIvId! Nobody called or emailed or sent us a letter to let us know this happened. Needless to say we told them we were done. Apparently we were suppose to send in a formal email and we didn't . So now they want their money for the past four months. I am extremely disappointed that ADT chose to partner with Google. I do not like the Google Nest…read moresystem at all. It consistently fails to record or capture important footage. For example, it rarely detects the raccoons on my porch or the commotion coming from my neighbor's property, while another camera I own captures all of the activity without any issues. I also have serious concerns about the reliability of Google Nest because it appears that footage is missing or being deleted. This has caused me to lose confidence in the system. Had ADT disclosed that its security system relied on a partnership with Google Nest, I would never have purchased your services. I expected a dependable security system, but my experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

She can't get out of the contract. Meanwhile, they want to charge $350 an hour for another daughter who needs a small adjustment to a water sensor.
