f you want to pay for a monitoring service and NOT have your home being monitored then go with synergy!!!! Who knows how many months I went without being monitored!!!!! We only found out when the babysitter set off the alarm and nobody called and the police never showed!!!! I have NEVER written a bad review but I must share my experience with Synergy. My HOME, my possessions, most importantly my family was not being monitored. Of course there is no way to tell for how long. I have had them for about seven years. I called and was told it would be between $350-500 to have someone come out to perhaps upgrade the system. I was LIvId! Nobody called or emailed or sent us a letter to let us know this happened. Needless to say we told them we were done. Apparently we were suppose to send in a formal email and we didn't . So now they want their money for the past four months. Don't care we weren't getting monitored. Wouldn't drop it even though we were no longer being monitored by them. Now have turned it over to collections for there $130 that we owe them for a service we were NOT receiving . Manager can't speak to me about it anymore because it is with collections but they say that they don't do business that way so I must have been notified about an upgrade....NOPE!!!! NEVER NOTIFIED!!!! Would be fine paying for a bad service paying for NO service at ALL is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! read more

Synergy did the wiring for my Networking, wifi, and security systems while my home was under construction. The cost was high, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, I was let down. Some components were missing, some installed in the wrong places and some have never worked. Installers are capable, but not particularly helpful in explaining how various components work or should be cared for. No user manuals are provided. If you want any support materials, you're left to find them online, but only if you can figure out the brands and model numbers of the components. Services and equipment are incredibly overpriced. There is no interest in customer service after the sale. Calls are never returned. In addition to low voltage equipment, they provide security services affiliated with Alarm.com. Alarm.com's service is adequate, but there is no interest in support after installation. I will find another vendor to install new equipment I want, and to replace the original WiFi system. And when my security contract expires, I'll find another provider. read more

So happy that my 3-year contract expired! Fire alarms randomly went off in the middle of the night several times, the security alarm also went off several times and NEVER received a call to check on our safety. Many of our neighbors have experienced the same issues, but unfortunately for them, they are still tied to the contract. I WOULD NOT TRUST THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF YOUR FAMILY ON THIS COMPANY. Asked to cancel the contract multiple times due to my increased concerns of lack of security monitoring. Even when they can't deliver on their responsibilities, they will not let you out of the contract. $58 a month wasted on this Company. Even when the contract expired, they still require you to sent email cancelling the contract...and pay a partial month? Another Company with an ounce of decency would've let you out of the contract after it expired without having to partial pay month, particularly when they never reached out to check on your family when alarms went off. Don't waste your time with them. Had a new build done (most builds in development have issues with them) and they did not put wires in the correct location. Tried to get it resolved but after many phone calls and emails I get no responses. When I finally reached someone they said they need to get reimbursed by the builder even though it was THEIR techs that installed the wires in the wrong place!!! Plus, they sold me a 20" cheap plastic panel knowing all the components that I would have to put there. There is NO way they would fit. Their sales person who is supposedly knowledgeable should have stressed that I should go with the larger box..... They also sold me coax runs for all tvs.....hmmm, who uses those anymore I'm learning. My fault on letting the salesperson for talking me into that. But again, you trust someone whos job it is to educate and sell me something. Slimey if you ask me. Plus, the doorbell does not face out where a person would walk up to the door. Their suggestion is to mount a bracket on the wall that would turn the doorbell to face out. Sooooo, somehow this is MY problem since they put the doorbell in the wrong spot?? This has been a grueling, exhausting, and beyond frustrating experience. I also see their own employee's or friends/family of employee's reviews account for their ratings on various review sites yet, there's no experiences shared. This review is loooong, but you'll learn something! If you just can't stand to read, at least skip to the last paragraph & see my photos. Our builder contracted Dynamark (renamed "Synergy") to do the security system install on our new Vacation home. In order to get all of the bells and whistles installed during the construction phase, we had to go with them or wait until after closing. -March 2014 (construction phase) unprofessional installation of "interconnect" tubes (to hide the cords of wall mounted TVs). Rather than cutting a proper hole to run the tube through, they pushed the thermal insulation board off of the 2x4s and just ran the tube, pinched between the two. Would have decreased energy efficiency had we allowed it to stay this way. -Jan 2015 Tech installed 8 analog cameras. Cams not consistently working. Dozens of emails & several remote attempts to correct. IP Nanny cam installed, "recording capabilities not functioning yet". -Feb 2015 After numerous failed attempts to correct ongoing issue, tech discovered there was an incompatibility with the cables and DVR. Required another in-home visit to replace DVR. -March 2015 Home incident occurred. I was unable to retrieve video surveillance due to insufficient memory capacity of DVR, as it had only stored the last 30 HOURS (not days) of video. Communicated with S.N. (AV Project Manager, at the time) and J.R. (VP of Sales, at the time).. Upgrade in DVR hard drive storage capacity. Required in-home visit. Nanny Cam recording functions, still not released yet. -May 2015 Two cameras down. Required in-home visit for tech trouble shooting. -July 2015 Two cameras down. Required manual reboot. -Aug 2015 Three Cameras down. Contacted S.N., but was told he was replaced with G.O. (AV Project Manager). A week went by without a call back from G.O., so I tried to contact J.R., only to find out he's been replaced with D.T. (VP of Sales). You read that right, two members of management replaced in 5 months. Installation of a device in DVR said to notify Dynamark of outages. I can't recall the actual item name. Required in-home visit. IP Nanny cam in beta testing mode. Now taking snapshot images, but still no recording capabilities. -Dec 2015 11 months after install, IP Nanny Cam app finally released. Only records on arm and disarm, not on motion like a Nanny cam is expected to. Control4 remote malfunctioning. Contacted C.D. (sales), who then forwarded me to C.B. (yet another new AV Manager. Replaced G.O.) That's 2 AV Project managers and 1 new VP of Sales in 9 months! -Jan 2016 Nanny cam replaced by one from a different supplier than the last. Requires in-home visit. I find the techs have yet again, pulled the thermal board off of the 2x4s leaving the entire 5 foot space of the attic from the home to the garage wide open. Decreasing my home's energy efficiency. I complained. Days later, they did send a tech out to reattach the thermal board. 14 days later, these IP cameras went down. Required backup battery installation. -April 2016 Remote malfunctioning and delayed response. Tech visited home, did some version of "repair" and left but the remote continued to do the same. I was able to research and find out that the issue could be resolved by simply resetting the router, which did in fact work. -June 2016 Analog cams down again. ***At this point I started using a different company to service the cameras, but Synergy/Dynamark was still monitoring out security alarm system until... -Jan 2018 I began having issues with setting the alarm remotely from my iPhone. I reached out to C.B., but it turns out he no longer works there. I was then forwarded to A.V., then C.E. I would be told "We'll call you tomorrow" and no one would call so I started calling to follow up on the progress until finally, after a month, I opted to finally cut all ties with Synergy. I have spent thousands of dollars in products, thousands more in airfare to allow for excessive in-home visits, and countless hours of my time with emails, phone calls and appointments. "SYNERGY"... they couldn't have picked a more contradictory new name. read more

I have been using Synergy in Tampa to maintain my Control4 home automation equipment. I previously used another company, but they just didn't have enough technicians who were really well trained on Control4. Since moving to them, my projects have been completed quickly and exactly the way that I expected... I worked with Chris Deluca on my latest ATMOS project, and he sent two guys who knew exactly what they were doing (Aaron Tucker and Brevin Baxter) and my system is working exactly as I imagined... I will be using them for all of my Control4 related stuff... read more

I had Synergy do my audio/TV and WiFi router system installation purchasing all equipment from them. On the equipment purchases, their prices were competitive compared to Best Buy and Amazon. The installation team was very professional and communicated during the process to insure all equipment was in correct location (installed 3 flat screen TV's and Yamaha surround sound theatre system). There is a lot of "technology" involved with both systems and they took the time to insure everything was correctly running and explained all of the equipment to me. I would recommend based on my experience and will also be using them for a security system as well. Also, very grateful for their recommendation to include a battery back up system for internet router, it's proven useful as we've already experienced a couple of outages and highly recommend. read more

Synergy has no consideration for job relocations, moving out of coverage area, etc. I also had a camera go bad in the first year and was told I would have to pay an unreasonable amount for diagnostic. worst company ever. After reviewing with them for about 4 months and the salesman taking weeks to answer my calls., they delivered a system that I need 3 different apps to control with. I was told that the only way for me to integrate my whole house was to buy the 1K Control 4 doorbell. Not only do I have to use 3 different apps for my home system but now they told me that I would have to pay more bc the 1K doorbell was not the right one to use. The system is slow to respond and echos. I want my money back for a system that they breached every single contract with and they are refusing. They offered to charge me more to fix it. RIDICULOUS. Run away from this company or get every single thing in writing and that they will refund you if they don't produce. read more

The services were just "ok". We could never set our alarm when we were out of town because there were so many false alarms. The keypad to lock and unlock the door was nice and so were the cameras and ability to check/open and close the garage doors from the app. After four years, we moved to a new home and canceled our service. Apparently we signed a FIVE YEAR contract. Had we known it was for five years, we never would've signed because we tend to move every 3-4 years. We had to deal with a woman named Sharon. She is probably the least friendly person I've ever had to deal with. I figure she must be an unhappy person in general. She was extremely unpleasant to work with. We ended up paying $500 to get out of the contract because after dealing with her, there was absolutely no way we were going to ride out the last year of the contract. I typically only post good reviews on Google and Yelp, but I feel like people should know what they're getting themselves into before they sign up for five years! read more

Built a house that completed in 12/2016. Had the builder recommend Dynamark for alarm, internet, etc. researched the company like a good ol American but surprisingly found more negative than positive reviews. But I like to root for the underdog so..Paid for alarm and security camera pre wire as well as putting cat5 internet connections in each room. I believe each prewire was around $500 each. After the house was finished I realized they didn't label any wires but I guess every homeowner is psychic. No problem to figure out which 50 wires went to what. Then called to have them "install" alarm and cameras system. Was quoted $550 for alarm system that costs $239 on amazon. Wow! So much for saving money on prewiring my house! Installers put screws right through my drywall where they came out on the other side of the wall. They did fix it within a few weeks but still...really. Then wanted to have them install a camera system since I paid for prewiring and probably drunk to even consider wasting more money on this company. Was told I had to install their specific camera system which of course was $2000 for 4 cameras that I think where 2mp. Wtf... So learned my lesson from the alarm install and went ahead and just bought a great 4mp system from amazon for $440. Googled how to make the connectors for the cat 5 and could of installed the system myself but decided to pay one of their techs on the side to Install the system for a very reasonable price just to stick it to them. Saved myself over $1500 but overall wasted my money with this company. If you need an alarm or camera system go wireless. 80% cheaper and simple to install. I wasted a few thousand with this company. We hired Synergy for alarm services and committed to a three year contract. At the end of the contract, they refused to cancel the contract, despite over 20 calls and emails providing them with exactly what they requested for cancellation. Throughout the 3 years of service, they were unprofessional and disorganized, and consistently overcharged us (charging an auto pay and also claiming we had to pay by check). Stay away from this fraud of a company. Once we were finally able to cancel, they continued to charge us even though we have all of the paperwork confirming cancellation. read more

Very unorganized company. I recently built a home and this company did my smart house. I have been in the home for 5 months. The customer service is terrible. Needed to call multiple times for services. No after hours availability for alarm system service having to jump through hoops. I now have a camera issue as this is the second time in 5 months it is not working. They want to charge me upfront 125.00 before they even come out to see what the problem is. I am very unhappy with this company as they preach Godliness!!! William Ryan homes works with this company. Just know buyer be ware when you get the sales pitch of there impeccable service and products. Will never recommend use Synergy Florida again also located in Tampa and Orlando. Dont be fooled. They did not come with adaptors so we had to pay an additional 220.00 for them to come out and spend 10 min putting adaptors on. Synergy management stepped up to resolve any concerns we had and truly listened when discussing exactly what we felt we're weaknesses. We signed up for alarm monitoring for our previous house in March 2015. Decent service. In 2017 spoke with them re doorbell camera and other upgrades. When tech came out didn't have right equipment. After delays, decided to cancel. Went through several rounds of them billing us for a doorbell camera never installed, plus insisting we owed for the equipment never installed. Contacted Chris Deluca (sales) twice in December 2017 about setting up service for new home, never returned either phone call. Went with another alrm company, then found out we had a five year contract which they "graciously" discounted 20%. Left messages for Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, no return calls. Likewise no response to letter faxed to COO. Perfectly happy to take your money, but don't expect management to even discuss problems with you. Beware! read more

The worst company in Tampa for security system. Totally agreed with above comments. Cheating and dishonest after you sign with them. Then they will screw you when you find out how terrible they are. In my case, it is totally cheating. I do not know why they are still in business. When you try using another company they will prevent you from using the equipment you bought from them by not giving up the install codes. So you must stay with them or buy new equipment. In fairness, i did get into a over-the-phone argument with the A/V manager who was very upset with me at the end of our conversation, and might have told the technician to run up the bill (who knows). No customer service recently purchased a home and stuck with them doing prewire. Overcharged and then never showed up to two appointments to fixed home security. Their excuse from the person who set the appointments was they forgot to mark it in the tech's calendar (are you kidding me!)..... like really what a waste of day sitting here waiting for them. They are the worst just want a sell nothing more. Also, when house was complete not one person showed up to show you how things work or even how things are setup or tell you what wires are what (apparently we're are suppose to know what all the cat5/cat6 go to) and a lot was spent on prewire, entertainment system, home vacuum, and security system. Sell person said they would show up to give you white glove treatment and explain the ins and outs of the house (vac system and home entertainment) no show. Complete garbage! Before they were Synergy, they were Dynamark in Central Florida. We had a new home built and I had about $25K of tech installed. Of course, they don't do this until after you have closed on the home. Well, needless to say, it took 3 to 4 months to get everything installed! Plus, they dont tell you that labor for their shit product is NOT included. And at over $100 an hour, you are goi ng to be paying a LOT. The technicians are no better than any guy off the street, and they were arguing with me over the capabilities of the system. (Not surprisingly, I was correct in the arguments.) I eventually had to get the regional specialist to come down and get things fixed. Oh, and to add to their legacy, they were RELEASED from their contract with the builder mid-way through the development's creation Back to my house, of course, things STILL dont work. I eventually disconnected the theatre hook up because it was so messed up and I hooked up a Harmony remote, which is infinitely better and cheaper. They wont give you access to the system so you have to deal with them only! And now for the home security - that, too, is a joke! For the 1st 2 years, I had a Tech out 6 or 7 times because the alarm kept malfunctioning. They kept resetting it and repairing it. Well, its past the 2 year warranty and it broke again and now I have to PAY for repairs on something that never worked right to begin with! I wont even get started on customer service and availability. They close at 5pm and they are closed on weekends. And it takes DAYS to get service - something I think is ridiculous when it comes to my family's safety! I tried to call my rep to discuss this, but it's been a week now since I left a message and I wont hold my breath. They spew religious quotes but are only in the business of screwing you over. I would not recommend this company to my dog to have a doghouse serviced by this crew! DO NOT WASTE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LIKE I DID! read more

Dynamark has hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The alarm in my new home went off periodically for no reason at all. It would go off in the middle of the night when my infant daughter was sleeping. Of course this did not start until 13 months after moving into my new custom-built home, so their 'warranty' was expired. Neither the alarm code we set up, nor the master code provided to us by Dynamark would work to disable the deafening alarm.They would not reset the panel unless I signed up for their monitoring service that costs $36 a month with a three-year contract. If your home builder insists on using Dynamark I would request that you ask them to use another company. Definitely don't get trapped into you using them for monitoring services. This Company engages in shady business practices, and then has the audacity to to put biblical quotes on their webpage. Update: I was subsequently contacted by a VP president of the company that offered to send an individual on site to fix the problem for a $150 fee. He said they would not be available for about 2 to 3 weeks. I declined his offer. read more

I have to agree with other dissatisfied customers. Most companies will allow you to terminate a contract with 30 days written notice. Not Dynamark. We sold our home in S. Tampa June 2015. In the busyness of moving, we did not notify Dynamark until first of July. We offered to pay the additional 30 days for ending our contract. They would not allow us to end the contract 5 months early even though we didn't live in the area anymore. Dynamark quickly told us we had to pay the remaining months of the contract in full and reported us to collection, damaging our excellent credit score. Instead of harassing home owners that move or need to end their contract with a 30 day penalty, Dynamark should contact the new home owner to sign them up for service. Before signing with any security and monitoring company check out reviews, ratings from BBB and clients of the company that built the home.
