Justin and Judy are incredibly kind and giving individuals, and their passion for the land is manifested through their dialogue, and that simple look of absolute adoration they both bear. Being from California, I am not accustomed to seeing such a great mass of land and understanding that it is managed and maintained by a few honest people. Though I cannot possibly fathom what drive and dedication it takes to care for the ranch and creek, I do however know, without a doubt, that when it comes to Yelp, five stars is an understatement.

They offer relaxing rides to enjoy the breathtaking scenery from meadows down to the rivers, or more advanced rides to hells canyon where you can experience rocky terrain and steep inclines. They pair you with your horse for the week so you can really establish a bond. The fly fishing is great! They offer lessons for first timers in their pond which does not require a license or you can head down to the boulder river and enjoy some of the best fishing in the area (license required). They offer other activities such as a Jeep ride, river floating, campfire dinners, and games (volleyball, horseshoes, and roping). There is a hot tub to soak your worries away in your spare time and lots of places to sit to take the beautiful views in. You will not go hungry during your stay here! The food is homemade, fresh and prepared for cowboys and cowgirls! Enjoy meals such as steaks, pastas, potatoes, brisket, full chicken, fresh veggies, seafood, salmon (fresh!), burgers prepared over a campfire, full breakfast spread of pancakes, eggs, bacon, homemade breads, muffin and more. We brought snacks with us that we purchased in big timber and did not touch them once so leave those in big timber and bring your appetite as they do not disappoint! The best part of our stay was the staff. This is a family run operation and it shows by the level of service they provide. I haven't ever experienced something quite like this before. The level of passion, care and concern they have for each one of us was so amazing. They just want each guest to have the best time and live their life to the fullest for the week they are at their property. There are no TVs, radios, cell phones so this is a time to truly disconnect. You can choose to get a phone card which will work in the main lodge for emergencies. The staff for the summer of 2019 hit it out of the park which is why all but two of the families were repeat guests who keep coming year after year. We can't wait to return to Hawley mountain and can't speak highly enough about this magical piece of the world.

They are all very knowledgable about the local waters and insects and willing to teach you whatever you are willing to learn. If you go out with these guys you will be put in a position to catch some very nice sized trout if you are able to follow their directions. As I did my first fly fishing trip ever with a guide from here I can say from experience that they know how to teach and aid anyone from their first cast onward as they are also able to help hone the skills of more seasoned veterans. Highly recommend you get a guide from here if you are fishing in the area and want to set yourself up for some great catches and memories. The shop itself is also very cool and has a lot of great merch and lots of friendly folks around who are easy to strike up a conversation with and get some insight into how the river is fishing and what bugs they are getting hits with. What a great trail!! This may need to become a frequented trail for me. I met some very nice people…read moreand dogs along the trail yesterday and really enjoyed the view of Bozeman. At the summit the views are of the valley back into Livingston. Very well marked trail as well as a nice parking lot. The creek that runs at the start of the trail is beautiful and dogs are allowed off leash here so I may need to see about trying that out next time as well. This trail is very close to town so easy to get to if you're in need of a quick hike. There is a decent elevation gain as well so I really got a good workout in!!

My son (18 years) and I have traveled from NC to fish Montana's top streams with Greg for 2 years. We have found him to be way more than a guide. Greg is like a coach (and that is what we asked him to be for us) not only putting us on fish, but coaching us and educating us, while at the same time making the trip fun for both of us. From the first minute that we met Greg, we could sense this was going to a great day (or days as the case was). First of all, you will notice immediately Greg is meticulous with everything about the trip, from the gear, to the organization of his drift boat, to the plans for the day, this was evident throughout the day. On the ride out, Greg was very conversational, but at the same time very focused on our goals and trying to understand our skills, background, and experience. On the water, we really appreciate how hard Greg works to give you the best shot at catching fish. At times he rowed us back upstream, just to get a 2nd shot at a "money hole". Additionally, he brings a wealth of experience in his guiding business and his experience becomes more and more evident as you fish with Greg. His years in Montana and Chile, make for great conversation. As stated earlier, Greg bring a wealth of knowledge of fly fishing, entomology, and specific location/stream knowledge...not to mention a few good stories along the way...again, that is what experience provides! I first started fishing with Greg in Chile, and he encouraged me to drop by Montana when I got back Stateside to check out some of the fishing around Bozeman. Mind you, it rained 10 straight days on us in Chile and we never had a down day, so I figured if I were to going to trust someone to show me what Montana fishing was all about I certainly couldn't go wrong with Bricker. He's a consummate professional in the low cloud cover and torrential rains in Chile as well as in the high dry plains of Montana. He's got me on fish every single time (on both continents) and I've come to believe he may have a PhD in fish-doctoring. I would also add that he can take just about anyone with interest in fly fishing down the river and get them in the best position to catch fish, with the same exuberance he would have in fishing with a more experienced angler. There's plenty of guides out there, and it can be said that the very best in the world are in Montana. Without overstating my message, Bricker is very comfortable working in that environment - he takes each day as a puzzle, and has the depth of experience to find the missing pieces and make the most of each day on the river. I would encourage anyone to spend some time him on the water.
