Since Pastor Ken started several years ago (pre COVID), there's been a lot more community outreach and meaningful events open not just to their own church members, but to the public such as the Women's conference, a fall harvest festival with crafts vendors, food, carnival games, and other fun activities such as bounce houses for kids, and monthly men's breakfast. Our family appreciates the outreach events they put on here to share the love of Jesus with the Elk Grove community and beyond.

The congregation at St Andrews is smallish, but has a wonderful sense of community. They are also welcoming. There are two focuses that Dan has tried to instill in his congregation. Community and knowledge. There are many activities through out the year to be involved in and small groups to join. To live a healthy life, I feel that it's good to be involved with good people who support and love you. The second is knowledge. To get that Dan organizes or hosts a myriad of small group studies. They have interesting curriculum and realistic goals. He tries to focus on what is in the bible without getting into too much else.

I drop off my son at 7:30 am and pick him up at 5:30 pm and everyday he is so happy. They hold the children accountable for their behavior with a happy face chart you can see what kind of day your child has had. They have a huge yard that the kids to get to go play on and during the summer they have a dunk tank water balloon fights and get to have water days outside. My child is super happy here and all the staff makes it a point to treat each child with love a respect. I know that Noah's ark is only preschool but it is a part of Stockton Baptist School and I plan to keep my child here through 12th grade so excited for his future.

He and his wife truly feel like a power couple, positioned well to help this church continue making an impact in the community. The events surrounding the church's 40th anniversary celebration were nothing short of fantastic. The decorations, presentations, music, and overall fellowship created an atmosphere that was both welcoming and meaningful. You could feel the care and intentionality behind every detail, and the social interactions felt natural, warm, and uplifting. I'm honestly excited to see where this church is headed under new leadership and renewed momentum. I am not young and I'm not old and of the youngest there. So the rock and roll vibe? No. It's genuine , worship. The leader breaks out into spontaneous prayer and worship and it's not a rock concert. I drove to sac every week for church (Calvary chapel, church of Christ) and missed one week and decided to come here. I NEVER LEFT.... My fav pastors are Paul washer , David Wilkerson , and Charles Lawson... so I know when a pastor is preaching the unadulterated word of God. They do here. The pastor is on fire , lead by the spirit of God , and he prays for his congregation... there are old and young , and we are all in the same body. We are small and powerful by the living God. Every Sunday is spent IN THE WORD and the messages are powerful. Being so sensitive to false teaching , prosperity gospel, and sugar coated garbage (false gospels) I was on high alert our first week. It offers a once-a-month study welcoming all ages for men, one for women, and a weekly Bible study, with a Sunday school class, and Sunday night service. They provide child care for children 4 and younger, during the Sunday morning service. Otherwise, they believe in worshiping as a family and welcome children into the services and various classes.

Their current site used to be a recreational area including a driving range, swimming pool and batting cages. What prompted me to write this review is their production of the drive-thru Living Nativity scene. Really cool. Very well done with 10 different story stations. Even the donkeys and bonfires are real! This is the sixth year now for this activity. I was told that last year they had over 1,200 cars that viewed the display. It takes a lot of time and effort of many people to make this happen. When we stopped by tonight there were about 10 cars waiting their turn to drive through. This event is for the community so if you have a chance, drive through. My DIL Aleah expressed an interest in seeing a live Nativity and I was finally able to deliver this year-a great experiential early Christmas gift to her. I really liked the drive-thru stations and the fact that it was obvious that family members, the whole family, participated in the live re-enactment. There were also a few llamas, a nice and fun touch, and with a little imagination they almost reminded me of a middle-eastern camel! Thank you congregation at Horizon for keeping Christ in Christmas!
