I drove past this church for years, intrigued by the rainbow, Black Lives Matter, and "all means…read moreall" flags outside. When I finally made it inside for a service, it was clear that this community means and lives these messages deeply. There is a strong commitment to social justice and many opportunities to be involved in the work happening around that at lots of different levels. I attended for a few months and found people friendly and didn't feel like I was being recruited into something or pressured to participate in a certain way. When I felt like I wanted to get more involved and meet some people it was easy to do and to find a way of connecting that was comfortable for me. My I'm-never-stepping-foot-in-a-church-again teenager loves it here too and even comes on his own sometimes. I especially appreciate the approach to sermons that the pastoral team takes. There is usually a series happening over a couple of weeks though if you drop in and out it doesn't feel like you are missing something. Both pastors infuse the sermons with lots to feed both my intellectual and spiritual curiosity. Also the music is extraordinary - I'd pay good money to see these musicians play on a Saturday night!

No pipe organs here - the sacred music is guitar and vocals. It's fun to sing along or just tap your feet to the talented church band. Pastor Marc is a gem too. His sermons are uplifting and he's a great guy to chat with before and after the service. This church reaches out to midtown adults that want to enjoy a friendly and open worship experience. Come join us, service is at 10:30AM every Sunday.

I like City Life, because the community there is built to welcome people whether they are including lifelong believers, those mired in doubt or even those who are feeling hurt and/or openly hostile towards the church. Wherever you are at, this place welcomes you without sacrificing orthodox theology. There is a real commitment to understanding and living in grace. I also really love their current meeting place which is sublet from Sol Collective, a great community arts non-profit.
