These people are very rude. They have an attitude that they can do a job like no other. Chris had an incredibly rude attitude. Throughout the conversation he was speaking to me as though he was doing me a favor. I would not even ask him to inspect my garbage can! I fired him before the job started. Scheduling was easy. Paul was early and in my opinion worked long and hard to complete our inspection of a home that had two of everything-- in very hot weather. We had the benefit of an inspection report done a month earlier to compare, and Paul's diligent work caught many more issues. He probably saved us from significant repair costs. Though his inspection ran until dinner time, he still spent more time that night to get the report, pictures and video all compiled and sent to us so that we could act quickly. The online system Horizon uses to to share pics and data is really good and so is their report structure that gives tons of extra information to help you better understand things the inspector is reporting. This is our third time moving and getting inspections, and Paul is far and away my favorite inspector; I plan to use him on the next house. read more

We would Like to change our rating on this company. After having the inspection done, we moved in slowly. We didn't take full possession for a couple of weeks. We continued to drop things off. When we moves in to stay we noticed the hot water in the kitchen was a trickle. The cold water (which they pictured in the report) works fine. We asked them to check it out. Carl came out and tried to figure this out then said he had to check with his boss before any other action. They came back with an email pretty much stating the problem was due to the house being vacant for 2 months and that sediment had settled or possibly corrosion. We had a sewer scope and every possible thing we could inspected. Now we are stuck with paying for a plumber to come and fix something the inspection should have caught. Horrible experience with Horizon Point Inspections. Among many other things, the inspector Paul failed to call out in his inspection report the extensive dry rot in wood windows and window trim on home exterior. The inspector Carl reviewed the damage that Paul failed to note, conceded I had a legitimate complaint, and assured me the company wanted to "make this right." They then offered me $1950 toward repairs that will cost me more than $25k. When I said that was unacceptable, they asked me to work with their insurance company, which I did in good faith. The insurance company upped the offer to $2100. What a farce. This saga is ongoing 5+ months now. read more

The company, specifically the technician Carl Heywood, did a Wood Destroying Insect inspection on one of my listing properties, stated that the property showed evidence of carpenter ants bodies wings and frass. Stated that a treatment was recommended or that a current contract be shown to the buyer. This is an FHA buy so it needs to be clear of WDI so I had another company, (one that the inspecting company had provided a coupon for) (kickback) provide a second opinion which stated that there were NOT any wood destroying Insects. The inspection was free but the written report wasn't. All this exercise did was cost me $60 because the technician couldn't tell the difference between a carpenter and and a black ant. It maybe time to go back to WDI school. read more

We asked for an inspection of a house we had built a few years ago. We didn't have it inspected back then, and I wish we would have. Our builder still has to fix things that they did wrong under our warranty, but I felt we were getting the run-around and told some things were "normal" that are not normal. So, we asked Horizon for a professional inspection before our warranty is up. Horizon offered prompt scheduling. The inspector was knowledgeable, courteous, and took the time to answer all of my questions about things that had been bothering me since we closed. There were a couple of small issues that we were able to fix ourselves but could have turned into MAJOR issues down the road (such as a lack of caulking that could have lead to rain water entering our electric panel!). We also have had an issue with some of our windows, which the builder ignored when we brought it up. The inspector was able to confirm the problem, and our builder has now promised to fix it. We had a great experience with Horizon Point Home Inspections. As first time home buyers, we were not familiar with the home inspection process and were a little nervous. Our inspector, Brian Tregoning, was fantastic at explaining everything and was willing and able to answer any questions that we had. He worked hard for about 3 hours looking over every aspect of the home, taking pictures along the way. He really knew his stuff! He made us feel really comfortable and even told us to reach out if we had any additional questions. 5/5 stars would recommend for a first time home buyer! read more
