The Harvard Stadium turned 116 years old this year. It has the distinction of being the oldest permanent concrete structure in intercollegiate sports. For more than a century it stands proud as the "aristocrat of American sports amphitheaters". As one writer described it. Their first game was against Dartmouth in 1903. Get a photo op on the field and experience the history of Harvard Football. It's a darn cool place to say you have visited.

It's absolutely packed, from the restaurants, to the vendors, to the rides, to the beach. I used to come to Fiesta when I was younger, and it had been 15 years or so since I've been, so I returned. * Your experience of Fiesta is completely dependent on who you know or go with. It is a very different experience for locals and tourists, and both have their pros and cons. I went on a couple rides, it was $20 and the ticket booths take cards for an extra charge. I had so much fun and I never went on the rides before. The staff were nice to let me get on as a single rider instead of waiting in long lines when there was space available. I went on Sunday, so the boat race was rescheduled for Monday since it was completely foggy. You could hear people cheering and partying from their boats but you couldn't see them. The weather was bizarre, but it didn't stop the crowd. I ended up trying Tonno's after, and it was the perfect place to end the evening.

We decided that we wanted to come back this year to see what the fuss was all about. I have to say I didn't have any crazy expectations for this event and wasn't sure really what to expect but it was so much more fun than I thought it would be. Everything from the greasy pole competition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, to the carnival rides, games and food, to the late night drinking celebrations at the various bars by the wharf to the parade. The engines themselves are also very cool and quite a bit larger than i expected. I was surprised as well that there was a little section on the second floor which allows you to see the top view of the engines as well as the steeple. Fair warning that the museum isn't air conditioned except the top levels. You can also join a tour which I believe costs money, but this allows you to go into the engines and explore.

They have one single 3-foot wide entrance (besides the VIP entrance, which I didn't experience other than to see it similarly lacked signage and coordination). They had zero line management and no signage outside the venue. Once inside, the space was a little calmer, but still had terrible logistics. The bathrooms had no line management, a terrible layout, and lacked signage so people were confused and bumping into each other constantly. The food and drinks were disappointing, but at least they had a few different options. The acoustics and sight lines were decent but the seats were uncomfortable and only 2/3 had cup holders. The worst part is that it seems like this place could be so much better. They have nice staff and they have enough space. It's just being managed terribly.

I loved the venue size - totally manageable and not overwhelming. Lots of bathroom stalls meant any lines moved quickly. I loved taking a break between the opener and main act to stand quietly by the water. Several drink and food options (pizza, dumplings, chicken nuggets, fries, burgers), and a free water fountain + water bottle filling station. Definitely still plan on wearing ear plugs - the music was as loud as any other venue.

The staff is always very polite and accommodating. I highly advise anyone that has not visited to make it a point to purchase some tickets to a show here you will be very pleased. FYI, I believe it's only on street parking. Just come a little bit early to secure a spot on the street close to the theater.
