If I wait until my treatment is complete before writing this review, possibly someone will miss out on starting their journey to feeling well again. I started coming to Hornback Chiropractic back in December 2019 due to back pain. Due to finances and my work schedule, I had to discontinue treatment. Then.. fast forward a couple of months. I injured my back and an old back surgery failed. I couldn't even stand up due to the muscle spasms and crippling pain. Dr. Cindy's office got me in right away. Not because they weren't busy but Dr. Cindy and her staff of Hannah, Dana and Jess are and the other Dr.s have great communication skills and work together to help get you in. One time Jess, The CA, saw I was in excruciating pain, she told me to hang tight , she would get me in a room to see the dr.. They also are compassionate and emphatic about your finances and the need to get treatment. They make it affordable with payments so you can get the care and rehabilitation. Palmetto location. Agree with other reviews about waste of time and money. I went in with lower back pain on the right side and left with the same after two months. Went back to my old chiropractor that took my insurance again and I had a rib out of place. Fixed with one visit. Dr Cindy is a good chiropractor, however, her billing practices are HORRIBLE. Her billing department incorrectly billed my insurance company and I had to spend months and countless hours on the phone with my insurance company and emailing Hornback and her billing department in order to get the situation rectified. I was not allowed to be seen by any of her chiropractors even though the error was on their part and I was in extreme pain. My insurance company told me it was not my job to rectify the incorrect billing. And yet the billing department did not take the time to call the provider line for my insurance company or open the thousands of portal messages that had been sent to them regarding patients' billing issues and other matters. My insurance company clarified multiple times that all of the bills had been correctly paid and that ultimately it was not my job to do the billing department's job for them. In the end, my insurance company and I were both correct, as my insurance company had verified multiple times, that my services had indeed been incorrectly billed. Hornback Chiropractic also appears to be in violation of Florida Statute 501.142 which requires merchants to post a notice in the store or practice regarding their "no returns accepted" policy and Merchandise Return Guidelines. This Florida statute applies to Durable Medical Equipment (such as an ergonomic pillow) which is not classified as a medical device under Florida law. Ultimately money is the bottom line for this chiropractor and her practice. Hopefully, you will not have the same experience. Just beware and take a look at the reviews from other patients, on this and other platforms, who experienced similar issues regarding incorrect billing and the lack of motivation or cooperation to correct these matters. read more

I have been receiving care here for several months. Dr. Cindy and her AWESOME staff has been Wonderful at showing Great Care and Concern during my visits. Since August of 2021, I have been receiving excellent chiropractic care from Dr. Shena Martin and her team on Market St. The staff is very attentive. They are flexible about rescheduling my appointments to fit my needs. Dr. Martin listens to my concerns. She is able to adjust my neck-back each and every visit. The Chiropractor was very nice but the office staff and accounting department/their practices should be carefully reviewed. They scheduled work without checking for proper insurance coverage leaving uncovered services for the customer. They do not follow up with the insurance company in a timely manner leaving explanation of services not sent for months and ultimately getting denied for lack of documentation. Don't even wast your time. The chiropractors are inexperienced and they overcharge you!we were there for a back alignment and $200 later, we left the place with no treatment at all! All they did was an X-ray which the person told us she didn't know how to interpreted and we had to come back the next day to speak to another doctor! Really?! And yes, they charged us for that! I have been going to Hornback Chiropractic for over a year now and was really pleased with my adjustments. The problem arose when I went to pay my typical $25 copay this week and they told me I owed $138. When I asked why they told me there was a part of my typical therapy that hadn't been covered since April. They never told me it was costing me extra and being added as a balance to my account. If I was told 6 months ago that it wasn't being covered I would have just told them not to do it. I truly feel like they knew they would be either reimbursed by the insurance company or could just eventually charge me for it. I have cancelled my treatments with them and will be looking for another chiropractor. I strongly recommend you do the same unless you want to get unexpected bills from them that have accumulated over your time as a patient. read more

I've been going to Dr.Cindy for years now for chiropractic care during my high school swimming days. I recently suffered an injury and went to Dr. Shena Martin. I was kind of skeptical because I didn't know her but let me tell you she has the exact same hands as Cindy! She's such a sweet Doctor. She really cares and takes the time to explain all the medical jargon. Within less than a month my injury was completely healed. I came in literally unable to bend down and now I feel better than ever! I love their office staff too! Alex is so sweet and always helps me with E-Stem & Grace at the Front Desk is the best and is so kind! Pam has been so patient with explaining how Health Insurance works! Cassie up front is a really nice girl and the process flows seamlessly back to Dr. Hornback whom I can't recommend enough. Had heard good things about this place. Unfortunately, my experience was a bad one. I paid $50 to sit in a waiting area past my appointment time, sit in a room waiting to be seen, had to watch a video on why to choose chiropractic care. I had already told them I had been going to a chiropractor, where I used to live, for years. When dr finally came in I received barely the briefest of evaluations. Took some xrays, which I was informed I had to come back later that week (and pay another $50) to get the results. Put on a table for electric stimulation therapy. Never once told how this was going to help me vs. the adjustment I was hoping to get. After my 10 mind of stim a random person came up to me to take off the pads; and "Ok, you're all set." All set for what? Oh right, to pay $50 for pretty much nothing and to be asked when I wanted to schedule my next appointment. Uhhh....NEVER!!! read more

The staff (Dr Shena, Trish, Alex, & Pam) are the absolute best. My son started receiving care at Hornback when he was 14. He plays a plethora of sports and needed adjustments. I am so thankful another mom from the football team recommended this practice. My son is now 16 and the care he received and continues to receive is top notch. I am now a patient and my neck and shoulders are feeling much better. The staff is very professional, personable, knowledgeable and most of all--friendly. I found the treatments very beneficial but billing practices are horrendous. Twice I have received an alarming bill only to find our that insurance was billed with improper coding so was rejected. I suffered from tendonitis in my elbow until the pain became incapacitating. An acquaintance suggested acupuncture. I looked in the yellow pages and found Cynthia Hornback listed as an acupuncturist. I chose her because she was closest to my home. When I arrived for what I thought would be an acupuncture treatment, I was given the "chiropractic check-up", and told that the tendonitis was caused by the lack of correct curvature of my neck. Hornback began "treating" me 3x per week (I had no insurance). My neck started to hurt, and then my shoulder. I was told to expect things to get worse before they got better. Soon, along with all the additional pain, I was feeling "fragile". I felt good when I began "treatment". My elbow was not getting better (it eventually did with a brace and rest) and she told me I needed to see a neurosurgeon! I didn't, as I had no insurance. I was still in pain (neck and shoulder) caused by Hornback's treatments, and her office manager begged me to come back in and they would fix it. It only got worse. I finally told her I was stopping treatment. She insisted on giving me one more adjustment for my neck and shoulder pain. She slammed down twice on the right side of my pelvis, and I have been in chronic pain ever since! It hurts to sit, stand, walk, lie down - it "cracks" when I move- and I get leg cramps. She told me she would fix it. See the pattern? Create problems, and charge more money to fix them! In 8 years, no one has been able to "fix" the problem Hornback caused. I have spent so much money trying to relieve the pain. An MRI revealed that every disc in the right side of my neck is bulging after she kept "cracking" my neck to "cure" the tendonitis in my right elbow. X-rays show that the right side of my pelvis is pushed forward in relation to the left side. It is hurting as I sit here. I have not had a good night's sleep in 8 years, thanks to Cynthia Hornback. She'll convince you that you have a problem, and keep creating more problems, so she can keep taking your money. No conscience, compassion, or empathy. Her office manager told me Cynthia would call me after I complained about the injuries. She never called. 24/7 I am wishing I had never found her as an "acupuncturist" in the yellow pages. I wish I would have retained an attorney so at least I could get the money back that I paid for her to injure me and use it to seek further pain management treatment for the injuries she caused. I fear I will have to have surgery. All for tendonitis in the elbow. read more
