We spent over $13,000 on repairs and have now have a damaged roof. We live very far from Punta Gorda, but we had the repairs done there when we moved from Lee County a year plus after the hurricane. We took our new-to-us RV in for some standard maintenance, a check engine light along with a few other items. One item was a crimped black water tank flush hose. The tech said he didn't find it and fixed some other hose. When we picked up the rig, I checked and it was still crimped and exactly how I had brought it in. The tech did come out and fix it after pointing it out. However, it was not tested and we later found another leak, most likely from the incorrect 'fix' he performed first which wasn't even requested. Another item was a cracked vent cover on the roof. Chuck, the owner, said they never found it. We decided we would just fix it ourselves. But when we had it back the second time for the check engine light, we provided a picture and asked for an estimate since we had it back in. Instead, they removed the broken cover and placed the new one on a totally separate vent which didn't even have a cover originally. He didn't even ask if we wanted it repaired. It wasn't until I got on the roof back home, that I realized they took off the broken cover and put the new one in the wrong spot. Not even sure how you do that. Of course, Chuck just said "bring it back, {for the third time} and we'll fix it", blaming his techs and accepting no responsibility as the owner. The main issue was the check engine light. They said they diagnosed it, that it could be one of several things, reset the light and after only a few miles driving away from the shop, the check engine light returned. We called and said the light was back on and were told to bring it back. We did and were told more diagnostics said it was the oxygen sensors. Two O2 sensors were replaced and the light was reset. We got less than 10 miles down the road and the light was back on. Upon returning home, we realized that the dinner plates in the upper cabinet were gone. Turns out they must have fallen out of the cupboard and broke all over the rig. We found a couple of shards and realized the problem. The tech obviously tried to clean it up and either never told Chuck or he did and Chuck never told us. Either way, this lack of transparency is shameful. On our third (and last) visit to the shop to ex plain that the check engine was still not fixed, Chuck, in his surly take-no-responsibility manner, practically threw my husband out of the store for explaining the myriad of mistakes he and his staff made. We will never use this company again and wish we had read the reviews before we went there in the first place. read more

My rv was left there for 3 weeks. I wanted an oil change...cost $180 We had our passenger seat fixed. $350. Picked up and the seat was not affixed to the floor. They charged 89 for an estimate. After all this the vehicle was broken into. All our stuff was rifled thru. Everything was thrown all over the rv. Stole alcohol and money. I was told you shouldn't have the stuff in the rv. I will file a police report. I was told it was in fenced area. I will get the camera footage. Not happy. read more

HONEST and very accommodating. Woke up and found what I thought was engine oil or brake fluid underneath my 2005 Toyota Sequoia and of course assumed the worst. Called Horner's and told them I was from out of town and asked if they could get me in to diagnose and repair. They said drop it off and they would fit it into the schedule. Less than 2 hours later I got a call that the car was inspected from top to bottom and that all the fluids fine. The technician thought I must have run over something in the road that splashed up on the undercarriage and then dripped on to the driveway overnight. So why did I say honest. I took my motor home to horners for a slide out motor repair. I was told after the parts came in that my generator would not start to operate the slide. we normally starter generator biweekly to make sure it always has fresh fuel.This was not done while the motor home was setting up there waiting for parts to come in. I was told it needed to be serviced. I was quoted a price of around 100.00 for a gasoline engine generator service. this price went up to over 200.00 and the generator still don't start. I was told that the battery's were dead from setting not plugged in. I was told the generator was working when they had it plugged in. when I brought it home and plugged it I found out that I was lied to The generator still would turn on. (200.00 oil change) none of the prices I was quoted and texted for all the work were honored. I have tried to call them numerous times to ask why the generator still is not operating. I always get a answering machine to leave a message which I have and still received no return calls now I,m setting in a motor home post hurricane Ian with no generator and no power to operate essential items such as air conditioning ,refrigerator , hot water heater etc.Very dishonest i would Highly not recommend this location. I brought my RV to Horner's after a blowout that did major damage. The total bill that insurance paid was $13000. They didn't fix it correctly and I bought it back several times. The last time I bought it back was (again) an electrical issue . They changed me $600 to diagnose a repair that they were supposed to fix. They said it was fixed but the refrigerator didn't work because they unplugged it. When I plugged it in the issue was back. They wouldn't give me my money back and Nasty Kathy said that they were done working on my RV and more or less said don't come back because it's an old RV and they have issues. Well everything worked fine before the accident ! I had a friend (an electrician) check it out and fix it. Also the shower got damaged and they replaced it and knocked out the wall in the bottom of the cabinet and when you look in you can see the wiring and the shower pan. The sealer they used is turning black no matter what I clean it with. I wouldn't send my worsted enemy there. They don't stand behind their work. I wish you good luck if you decide to use them ! Brought my 04 Sebring convertible in for a tune-up ,tire balancing since the vehicle had a vibration @ 50mph. Because the vehicle was the only transportation we had, we opted to rent a vehicle while the work was being done. The estimate of time was one day to do the work. I brought the vehicle in a day early so Service Manager (Dave) could order the necessary parts. Two days later I had to contact the shop to inquire about the vehicle and I was told one of the cylinders had less than optimum compression in it. Mind you the vehicle ran fine when dropped off for tune-up, that there was an issue with lower ball joint, brakes,tires etc . To make a long story short I made arrangements to pay for work done and to pick up my vehicle. Eleven hundred dollars and five days later I attempted to drive my vehicle from the shop, it was misfiring and the check engine light was lit. I turned around and brought the vehicle back and inquired as to why this was running so rough etc. I was told by Service Manager Dave that it was the compression issue he spoke about. He was great in the art of razzle dazzle and could not explain to me why the vehicle suddenly turned to junk once they put a wrench to it. Ultimately because we couldn't or wouldn't feel safe driving the vehicle we decided to donate the vehicle to charity. Bottom Line is that this shop is a rip-off for customers . To add insult to injury communications is non-existent. read more

WORST, WORST, WORST service EVER. Went here in 2019. Sent us down the road with loose lugs. The wheel simulator flew off 200 yards after leaving Horner's. We noticed it missing when we returned home. Contacted Horner's. They "knew nothing". We found it in the ditch 3 days later, full of snails, mud, and seaweed. Handed it to the service manager. We asked for 50% discount on "lack of service" . The owner laughed in our face and said, "F*** Off". Here is it mid 2022. Our neighbors chose Horner's for front end work. Yet again, Horner's FAILED. Luckily, the neighbors found Mr. Front End Inc & RV Services Unlimited on Pascal Dr. Punta Gorda. They made it right. read more

It's not a surprise for another one star review! You'll definitely not be treated as though your business is important. We couldn't make our appointment so I was courteous to call and let them know on the morning of sadly but rescheduled for the next day. Second call of the day I inquired if they serviced Aqua systems. I didn't want any surprises for them the day of our appointment so thought I'd plan ahead. Chuck was his usual grumpy self asking why I was confused about our appointment. I explained that I wasn't confused that I was simply asking if they service the system even though we were coming in for an oil change not expecting it to be done that same appointment. You would think adding another service is an opportunity to create further revenue. Chuck's response was simply that they don't have time and their place wasn't a drive in and go. Why would I think that? Why not simply say they would be happy to work on it if we made another appointment specifically for that component? Now they did do a nice job on an alignment last year, but, of course, still having to deal with his abrasive personality. He said twice I was confused about our appointment the following day; however, when I again mentioned I simply called to ask if they service the Aqua hot system, he asked why I was confused. Confused? No confusion must not be misunderstood for this same subject. During this conversation his rudeness, surliness attitude radiated. I then simply thanked him for his charming personality after I told him that I wasn't confused. Within three minutes my husband received a text canceling our appointment, which he ended up doing us a favor. Why pay for bad customer service. I couldn't imagine if they made a mistake! You deserve better so go somewhere else it's just not worth it! read more

Do not bring your RV here. Very dishonest. Poor workmanship that they will not admit to. Sent pictures of the workmanship and was told our rv is old. Well when you see things that were not done like not changing spark plug in the generator on a tune up?? Like not putting the seal correctly back when doing a brake job which caused a fire and a weeks of vacation lost... in a hotel which cost money. Have photos of all the damage they caused by poor workmanship and all they can say is your rv is old. We keep our rv in tip top shape. They have been the only one working on it for 3 years. Many problems but always gave them a second try. We're over $10,000 in the whole because these guys can't do the right thing. read more

I have had two encounters with Horners in the last two years. Both for my RV. The first was for a transmission line replacement that was covered by my Ford warranty. Horners processed through Ford, in a timely manner without any charge to me. The second, and most recent, was for a problem with the levelor control and for an estimate to reseal the roof. The levelor problem was resolved for the price of the estimate and the unit will be scheduled for the reseal soon as the quote was fair and I am confident in the technicians ability. read more

Took rv in for normal service to Gen set and engine and a/c not working. They had my coach in in January for an a/c charge and did not find leak. Three months later leak was found. Had to order parts twice cause first order was lost. Went to pick up and coach not done. Front desk people have no customer service skills. After picking up coach and driving 500 miles found out Gen set had fuel leak. Didn't leak when we took it in. After traveling two days a/c does not work again. Used to be a good shop but not any more. read more

I too had dealings with the disagreeable woman at the service counter. When she left I thought dealing with Horner's new owner, a local real estate salesman, who is now manning the service counter on a full time basis, would be easier since I had known of him, but never met him, for over 10 years. Was I ever wrong. I decided to give them a try when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning condensate drains on my 2011 Tiffin motor home. The owner has not a scintilla of the personality necessary to run a retail business or the technical knowledge to effectively fake it. He was surly, dismissive, arrogant and aggressively ignorant when asked to explain what repairs his techs did to my motor home. If you ask a tech directly he, the tech, acts like he might be fired if he answers. The owner gets really mad when asked how he arrived at the bill you owe and the techs cannot help. He charged me for work not done and over charged for what little work they did. When my wife tried to get a partial adjustment for the work not done he refused saying that was why they did not like working on older motor homes. read more

Dishonest company, lied about the condition of the RV, unwilling to help mitigate the multiple issues popping up as soon as leaving the lot. They're also pretentious, posing as an "honest, family owned company" wishing people with their mouths "safe travels" while having no problem sending a young couple off with kids in an RV that couldn't make it up hills, with no fridge working, no bathroom working, slide out busted, multiple engines issues, stating it was in "great condition." This is definitely a place I will shake the dust off from my feet, and I wanted to add my voice here with the others before I forget--steer clear of these phonies! They are now in the process of learning the truth of God's word, the One who sees through the pretense--says, as an unmovable anchor, "What you get by dishonesty you may enjoy like the finest food, but sooner or later it will be like a mouthful of sand." My genetator wasn't working. I took my rv to Horner's Auto Repair. I got charged a half an hour ($65 + tax) to be told that they don't work on Generac generators because they can't get parts. I told Rick the make and model of the generator when I spoke to him upon arrival. In my opinion, at that point an honest business person would have told me he couldn't work on it. He gave me the number of someone that he said could work on it. I did not call since I didn't feel like getting the rip off run around from his buddy too. read more

WOULD AVOID THIS BUSINESS. POOR WORKMANSHIP, BAD ATTITUDE FYI...... I have 25 years background in the automotive business so I know what I'm talking about. 2007 Escalade, oil leak. Took SUV in to have oil leak diagnosed and fixed. They said it needs gasket replaced approx. $150.00. We said fix it. Got it back, still has oil leak. Took it back in, they say needs rear main seal (and a motor mount) approx. $1500, we say fix it. (Didn't ask for the $150 misdiagnosis to be credited) BTW, they changed oil, even though you don't have to with rear main seal replacement on this vehicle. Note: I had just changed oil, looking for leak, Mobil 1 top dollar, Full Synthetic; they put in synthetic blend. (Cheaper) Got it back, seems OK, no oil on driveway. Drive vehicle about a month. OK I usually drive but my SO takes SUV to Fort Myers, speed limit is 65 or 70 in some places. No problem. I drive SUV to Publix next day, come out to leave, start to back up & big crunching noise. Based on past experience, sounds like CV driveshaft is broken. Look under SUV, it isn't broken, it fell most of the way out. Bolts are gone! Find parts of bolts, try to identify size and call Horners to explain. Rest of bolt pieces are in our driveway. Found later. They send mechanic out with some bolts to fix, he can't understand why I'm a little upset; tells me I should be nicer to him because he's helping me by fixing my vehicle. (Really!) Bolts won't fit so he goes back to shop to get some that may work and comes back. Bolts aren't correct but will work to get vehicle back to their shop. One broken off piece still in housing. He puts SUV on lift, part of one broken off bolt is stuck in mating part preventing installation of new bolts; I help him get it out. Note: No contact by Supervisor saying "we're sorry," nothing.) Couple of month's later we're driving through Fort Myers on the way back to Punta Gorda, oil light comes on.....Two quarts low! Bought two quarts and added them. Puts oil at full mark. (Note:SUV does not use oil, never have to add between changes, WAS LEFT TWO QUARTS LOW! SUV gets to oil change mileage, plus SO has a Corvette that needs an oil change. I call Horners, explain to Mark the history of what happened and that I think both oil changes should be free. He says he can't make that determination, says will talk to Kathy, she'll call me. She doesn't call, I call back, talk to Kathy (She was original contact when work was done) she says maybe could cover one oil change. (This would make it even on one that was not needed, so that would be giving us one). I said, no I think it should be two and that their cost is prob only $40. (Big Deal!). She says: "If you think we do such horrible work, why do you want to bring it back here!" (Good point but I was giving them one more try to make up for our inconvenience). She says can't do, Chuck has to authorize and will call me back. NO RETURN CALL! DON'T GO THERE! read more

We needed new tires on our RV. We also had a few undercarriage items we wanted checked, and had to have a tow package installed on our new Beetle. It was also time for the semi annual diesel service, so we had that done. I had read a little about the Sumitoma tires, and went with Brandon's strong recommendation. So happy we listened to him, these tires are amazing and the ride of the RV is dramatically improved. I was concerned the work could be done in the 36 hour window they had the rig, but all was done when I arrived to collect the RV. Quite impressed! We just dropped the Beetle with them we were so impressed with the RV work. I guess I'll have another review soon. Happy consumers here! read more

I took my motor home to Horner's for a repair. The work was done satisfactorily and was done when promised. They are well equipped to do work on motor homes including a lift. By the number of motor homes parked around this business, it is apparent they are trusted by many to do work on their RVs. I was very happy with their service and will use them again. read more

I took my car in after having AAA come jump start it it for me and was diagnosed as needing a new battery and an alternator. So I drove it to Horners Oct 22 and told them I need a alternator and a battery, also a couple other minor things to be done. Today is November1. I called them 3 times last week to see when it would be ready, told me that something was still draining the battery and they've been looking all week to figure it out. I assumed this was after the new alternator and battery were replaced as requested. They finally called my husband on Oct 30th to tell him that the alternator was bad (OMG REALLY), I told them taht on the 22nd!!!!, and now they had to order it from Jacksonville. They also said the bill was going to be around $1400 now because they spent so much time looking for the battery drain.Today is Nov 1 and not another word yet. They are idiots, do not take your car there!!! Thank goodness I have a second car or I would have had to rent one. I think Rick left the business with a bunch of morons! read more
