I was trying to let him do a dream of his and Missy pointed me in the right direction. It took us a couple days to make it happen and Missy even let us come back after we left to rent our campsite another night, so he could do this bucket list activity. The campground is clean, beautiful, great bathrooms and showers. Road lights lite up enough at night to feel safe, but not a bother to you when at your campsite. Great nearby towns. Everyone was so nice it was amazing! Highly recommend this wonderful place. And unfortunately after we returned home found out Cancer has spread to his brain, so this trip meant even more. Blessings to the great people at Yonah Campgrounds

Cons: Internet worked well when it was up and running, which was only one day of our stay. The roads are in desperate need of maintenance. They are mostly dirt with patches of gravel and a little pavement on the hills. IF YOU HAVE OVER A 35 FT CAMPER, THIS IS NOT THE CAMPGROUND FOR YOU. The turns are sharp. Our 43 ft drug really bad coming out. I wish they had told us this before we booked that their spots are really too small for this large of a camper. There were lots of people sleeping in their cars or in vans. One lady told us that the van they were sleeping in slid down the hill bc their spot wasn't level. This campground has really good potential. Just needs some TLC.

We felt like we were driving forever and just needed a spot for the night to start a drag drive. Yes, it was dark too. No fun for us flat land Floridians. The phone service was poor so we weren't able to get gps. We pulled off the side of the road with our RV to take a breather and gather our thoughts when we looked over to the right we saw this campground. We pulled in not sure if anyone would be around, and the office was closed. We saw a phone number and made the call. A kind lady answered and said she would be right over to help find us a spot. We couldn't have been happier to hear those words. In the morning we looked around. It's a quiet campground. Looks like some may keep their RV's here since they have cute little porches around. They do have a laundry facility, restrooms and showers for guests. A river runs down the side of it and is peaceful. There is a small playground. They have full hook up available as well. So glad they were here for us.

Definitely NOT southern hospitality. It seemed like she was sucking lemons!! Oh yeah, they also are not dog friendly AT ALL!! I travel in the area frequently and would never ever go back!! Im only giving 2 stars because the property is nice otherwise I would give it zero.

The hike was nearly 10 miles round trip and quite challenging. The weather was perfect, though a bit humid from recent rains, and we were soaked with sweat. We felt like we finally found a team with determination and patience. One of our new team members, nicknamed AlphaGo, had previously hiked ABC and EBC in Nepal. He was an amazing hiker, full of knowledge, humility, and a righteous manner. We truly enjoyed his company, along with his wife's.

Water is available via a hand water pump across from site #8 and the toilets are vault toilets but were well kept and did not smell horrible. The stream is gorgeous stream and loud enough to drown out most road noise. There are some hazardous trees and one 6inch tree did fall while we were there this weekend during a thunderstorm. At the back of the campground is a ~2 mile trail that connects to the AT. Most sites have a tent pad that will accommodate a 10'x10' tent. Sites 2, 4, and 8 driveways can really only accommodate 1 car and there are no extra parking spots. Driveways for sites 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 can accommodate 2 cars. Sites 1 and 3 are adjacent to the road and is going to be impacted by road noise. There is no campground host so be prepared to either scavenge wood or buy it in town, same goes for ice.
