Rodents! The squirrels have chewed through every single propane gas line we have and then they started on the hydraulics of our levelers and the main electrical hook-up. There are hundreds of these furry tailed rats. It is going to cost us so much to replace every single line we have. It is a beautiful location but it is tired. The damage done to our 1 year old motorhome has left us not wanting to camp there anymore. Hilda is fabulous and the crew at the park try to maintain but Towns County needs to put quite a bit more effort into maintaining a campground that could be the shining star of the lake. read more

Stopped by on Friday about 2PM in order to beat the rush. Enjoyed our time walking around and talking to the vendors to learn so many wonderful things that the pioneers and people did to build up our country. Really enjoyed the Farm Equipment displays just looking at all of the equipment they had to use to clear the fields. The carnival side was not open and that was okay did not want to have to deal with all of those extra people. Many food places to sample many different types of food , we had BBQ Brisket and Chicken. Also sampled a funnel cake towards the end, have to have one of those if you are at a carnival/fair. read more

Went to the car show this week. Enjoyed it a lot. The people that owned the cars mostly was above 50. I lot of them hung out with their family. Cars were a joy to look at. Most were early 70's back. I thought this event was very Good. Need to be a car lover to enjoy. My wife tolerated me and the under 10 grandsons could care less. read more

We arrived to camp on 8/6. This place is pricey - $55/ night if you want to stay on the water ; $50 if not . An added bonus is full hookup. We stayed in site C3. The cost should be reflected in the upkeep, but it isn't . I have to say I'm disappointed. There are dead trees everywhere - our area (C) is especially bad. The campground and fairground manager will tell you that is "isn't their problem" if a dead tree/limb falls on your camper. They do nothing to ensure these are monitored and removed if needed. Additionally , while we don't use the bathhouses, we had a friend who stayed nearby who does. Well, it's filthy. Also, there is no place to sit or hang/place your towels/toiletries at all. The roads are poorly maintained with major crumbling in places. I only give it "fair - 2 stars " because the view is beautiful - for now. They are preparing to lower the lake considerably for repairs (major) to the dam and then the view and lake will go. It is easy to find good food (great restaurants in nearby Blairsville ) and lots of antique shopping. Other than that , I can't say a lot of great things about this campground. It seems they are taking quite a bit of money , and pocketing it rather than using it to make it worth the increased nightly fee. Sadly disappointed. read more

The Georgia Mountain annual Fair was OK. The price is good but we're expecting more for what was promised. A lot of the demonstrations weren't on display. A lot of the "arts and crafts" were more like flea market items or seemed Made In China. Some of the food was over priced as well. read more

Note: we are camped in the sites on the south side of the highway. Sites are not user-friendly. Many are vary steep and experiencing erosion which is creating hazardous conditions when walking around the campsite at night. Fire ring is placed so close to the pad as to make it unusable due to the fire hazard. We may come here again some day, but we certainly will not accepting a reservation on a site south of the highway. read more

I am speaking only about the music hall. If I could I would give 0 stars. We were sold 75.00 front row tickets only to get there and find our we were crammed into a corner with an obstructed view. We ended up moving after a few songs to the back to the 30.00 seats and had a great time. Will not recommend or return. read more

We attended a Marshal Tucker/Charlie Daniels/Travis Tritt concert on Sep 24 2018 Good: Parking easy and close Staff great A nice selection of stadium food and drinks not overpriced Music was great Bad: Most of the people attending were great; polite, considerate, and enjoying the music.However, there was several small groups that show why trash is spelled with a capitol T. Rude, half(or more) drunk, inconsiderate they walked in front of people continuously, stood and talked during the music, by the mid point some were falling down drunk. All in all enough people behaving like rude idiots to almost ruin the experience. The staff made very little effort to control things. From what should have been a great night, they made it a marginal experience. We will think long and hard before spending that much for tickets there. read more

We were not here for any events so my review is for the campground only, RV area. BEAUTIFUL, peaceful property. Right on the lake with incredible views. Super nice, clean bathhouse. All sites have fire pits and picnic tables. Big trees with shade. Looking forward to getting the rest of my family up here from Woodstock. read more

The campground gets the 3 stars and the staff at the office because they are great. We came just for the Georgia Mountain Fair this weekend and I think it's ridiculous to charge $12 to come in and not even half of the booths are open. Even the vendors were complaining that the crowds were down and they have to pay to be there too. It's sad that it's not the way it used to be in years past but something needs to change. We won't be coming back to spend that much to look at a handful of vendors. Either cut the price for vendors to get more of them back or let people come in for a lot less. The food was good but that's about it this visit. read more

Came to the campground for the first time in years! It was easy to hookup and room for your car too! Bathrooms were cleaned daily and shower water was hot regardless of what time you went. Beautiful views. Just enough space between other campers. read more

Having attended the Fall Festival for many years, I have seen the really good years, and the not so good. While the craft section seems to be in some trouble, the music and contest was as good as I have ever seen!There was without a doubt the highest concentration of super talent in all the catagories. I watched every minute on Fri & Sat. We always stay in the Campground, and get as close to the entrance as possible. The personnel are very helpful, and show their concern for making the stay enjoyable. It's a nice size. Lots of parking. Within walking distance from where I was staying at and in the same location as the garden area. We went to the Christmas light show it was beautiful.and was only 5 dollars a person and the food inside is cheap and is good. I had a few hotdogs a few comes and a hot chocolate between my hubby and I and we both enjoyed it. read more

Do not go here for music shows. We went last night after purchasing tickets months ago online. At the time all that were available were listed as general admission. When we arrived there were no seats for general admission except a few metal folding chairs or to stand outside in an icy cold spring downpour. We had purchased tickets for ourselves and my 71 year old dad and his friend to see the show at a cost of $50 per person. None of us had seats or anywhere to even see the performance. We stayed less than ten minutes. My dad opted to stay the entire time and said he was miserable because he had to stand for the entire concert. The crowd early on was already embarrassingly intoxicated and my dad said that it deteriorated over the evening with several fights between females breaking out, people screaming profanities, and police manhandling the fans. Bottom line if I could give this venue a negative star review I would. Save your money and go to a real venue in Atlanta where it is properly marketed, worth the money, and staffed by knowledgeable employees not geriatric Lions Club volunteers. read more

I love everything about this place. Beautiful scenery, etal! We come as often as we can and especially in October. No complaints. Just rave, rave, rave. Aside from being a great campground, it is near a super nice town and relatively near to all kinds of attractions i.e. Waterfalls, apple orchards, and so much more. read more
