As someone with significant dental anxiety, finding Horsham Dental Care has truly been a game changer for me. I have always been a very nervous patient when it comes to dental visits. Sitting in the dentist chair gives me a lot of anxiety, but since becoming a patient at Horsham Dental Care, my experience has been completely different. Over the past year I've worked with several hygienists and technicians, and I recently needed to have three dental crowns, which was more dental work than I've ever had in my life. My anxiety was definitely elevated going into it, but the team made the entire experience much easier than I expected. From the moment you walk in, the entire staff -- reception, hygienists, technicians, and dentists -- are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Just as importantly, they are absolute experts at what they do. They take the time to make sure you are comfortable and are very skilled at minimizing discomfort, which makes a huge difference for someone like me who has dental anxiety. After the initial crown work I did have a temporary crown come off and my tooth was exposed. The office got me in quickly and replaced it right away, which was extremely important. The dentist made sure the new temporary was secure so I could eat normally and comfortably until the permanent crown was ready. That level of responsiveness meant a lot to me. I'm also very impressed with the advanced technology and imaging they use. The scans allow you to instantly see what's going on with your teeth, which removes the guesswork and helps you make informed decisions about your care. One other thing that has really stood out to me is their focus on patient education. I was never very good at flossing -- honestly, I think it's because I was never properly shown how important it was or how to do it effectively. Because of the education and encouragement I received at Horsham Dental Care, I now floss consistently twice a day. The results have been amazing. When I went for my second cleaning, it was obvious to the hygienist that I had been flossing, and my cleaning was noticeably easier and much less uncomfortable. Go figure... it only took 57 years to finally get it right! I am reviewing mainly for military personnel who have TRICARE (Concordia) coverage. Horsham Dental Care is on the Active Duty Dental Program and they are very familiar with the coverage and DD2813 forms. I have gone to them many times for routine check ups, cleanings, and some moderate to major work, and I have not had to pay a dime. I usually get Dr Lala and she is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. For more serious work, they will tell you different options, and help you decide what is best for you with no pressure. If you're military, HDC is one of the best options in the area. read more

There are great for the 3 X's Cleaning, Cavities, and Crowns. Implants, not so good. I just finally got my implant in a front facing tooth. After months, numerous visits, and around $2k out of my own pocket and it's about 2mm too short. I know it had to be made out of two materials, as the front material is to brittle for the over bite. But what about the other 3 top front teeth? At first I was just happy to get it done. But the first thing out of my wife's mouth was it's too short. Now it haunts me, even though I mostly can't see it. Shame. For basic and maintenance service they're great but implants, not so much. One other thing. They used to have a supplied keurig machine in the lobby. Dropped for Covid I guess. Real reason too many spills for staff to clean up. Miss it. Must be getting spoiled I guess. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time, too long really, but some tooth trouble over the holidays sent me to Horsham Dental care and I'm so glad it did. No one loves going to the dentist, but this is about as pleasant of an experience as possible. The staff is super friendly and they let you know the cost of any work needed in advance so you know what you're getting into before committing. Once you're in the chair, there are TVs in front of and above you to help distract from the fact that you're about to have a bunch of tools in your mouth-- and trust me, it works! The doctors and hygienists are all very kind and thorough and they check in often to ensure you're holding up ok during any procedures. Even better, throughout all of the work I've had done, I've had almost no pain, which is amazing at dental visit. I was in a lot of pain back in Jan 2023. I found Dr. Lala. She told me I only needed 1 root canal, turned out I needed 3. I have been on a 9 month journey with Dr. Lala and I had so many issues. I thought it was going to be 1 root canal and a few cavities. 3 root canals and a cavity mishap later, I spent over $5,000. the other day, I got a call telling me I need to pay another $1,000 for a crown to be fixed. I was outrageous. I should not have to be paying $1,000 at each visit including my crown to be fixed. Dr. Lala doesn't have the bedside manner. She doesn't care about her patients. Dr. Lala just wants the money. I would recommend choosing another dentist. I will not be going to back Dr. Lala anytime in the future. read more

I usually love going to the dentist, and I'll say this is the first bad dental experience I've ever had. First, they took triple the number of x-rays that any other dentist's office has ever taken, which I can only assume was necessary to maximize what they can bill insurance. Second, Dr Lala looks at my mouth for about 30 seconds before telling me I grind my teeth and my bite is messed up and if I want to keep my teeth I need to be wearing a retainer as much as possible. I had braces 15 years ago and no dentist since then (5 in total) nor the two orthodontists that did my braces expressed concerns about my bite. This has frankly led to quite a bit of anxiety since my visit nearly 4 months ago. Lastly, the hygienist was demeaning and raked the heck out of my gums while telling me I should really start flossing. I've flossed religiously everyday for the last 15 years, she was just being careless. I also never got rinsed after my teeth were cleaned? Not sure if that's protocol, but I was spitting up toothpaste in the parking lot. Looking forward to finding any other dental provider. read more

I went there for a crown after my root canal done elsewhere. The first dental assistant was lazy and didn't put the temporary crown on securely so I had to come back and have it done right by another dental hygienist. The dentist that put the crown on Dr Matthews apparently didn't put enough cement in because I felt it shift after a few weeks. After several months I am now having problems with it beside all of that the last dental hygienist was so harsh with the cleaning digging into my gums they were bleeding and I am on warfarin. They were telling me I needed a more deep cleaning because of the bleeding. On top of this I had Keystone insurance and was told I had to pay 400 dollars so I told them I had second insurance. The second insurance paid 700 dollars so I figured they got 300 hundred more than they were expecting. The second insurance has a 100 dollar deductible which they billed me for. I felt I didn't owe it since they got 300 more than they would have. I will not go back. read more

I appreciate this practice so much! I've only been with them for a year, but it's clear that they care and are good at what they do. A year ago I came in for my first checkup and cleaning. It had been two years since I had a dental visit, in part because I didn't like my former dental practice and always left with sensitive and painful teeth after a visit. After my first visit at Horsham Dental Care, I did not experience sensitivity to my teeth, nor did I have discomfort during the cleaning. During that visit, they recommended sealants to prevent cavities. I doubted there was any rush and said to myself I'd do it on my next visit. Well, my next visit came last week and low and behold, I had a cavity. For the first time in 22 years. Given that it had been a while, I was nervous about it. But when I went in today, everyone was so nice and reassuring. My filling and sealants were done in about 30 minutes without any rush, plus they kept asking me if I was okay which I appreciated. Bonus points: 3 visits in and my appointments have always been on time. No one has time to wait. Everyone needs to get back to work. More bonus points: okay, maybe. I think this is an all-women practice. Haven't seen a male on my visits. If so, more kudos! read more

Dr. Lala is amazing! I am very nervous and anxious when it comes to going to the dentist. But she makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed and now I keep all my appointments regularly with her. She educates you about different treatment options and carefully explains at every visit what she is going to be doing and walks you through each step, which is a huge relief. She is very gentle and the best part- everything is pain free! I never feel pain with Dr. Lala and she makes the whole experience feel like a breeze. As a long term client of this practice, I have to say the front end staff, technicians, and dental work have always been very satisfactory. The practices new dentist Dr. Lala communicates well through procedures, is mindful to discomfort, and was methodical enough today to eliminate a deep cavity near the root, that was originally to be a root canal. I had to go in to get crowns put on my teeth and it wasn't just one crown, it was 6. I have a debilitating fear of the dentist so it's hard for me to be fully awake and aware of what is going on because everything scares me. I usually would only to go a sedation dentist but they are hard to find and very expensive. My first appointment to get the temporary crowns on was very traumatic for me. I have never been fully awake for a dental procedure before and I have a very sensitive gag reflex along with emetephobia which is a fear of vomiting. I can't explain just how debilitating and terrifying my fear of the dentist is. I took my anxiety medicine beforehand thinking it wouldn't be that bad but I was wrong. I was crying hysterically the whole time and couldn't do much things especially the impressions because they made me gag. There were a lot of times I needed to take breaks and just cry and Dr. Lala was just so not understanding. I understand she had other patients to get to and I was there over my allotted time and she was frustrated but she should not have taken that out on me. Any kind of mean tone set me off and that is not how you should be speaking to someone who is clearly having a traumatic experience. I did not like the tone she used with me. So after that appointment I thought I was done but (and this is no fault of the office) my impressions got lost on the way to the lab so I had to go back in and get my impressions redone and new temporaries put on. At that appointment getting all those temporaries again was very uncomfortable for me as it triggered my gag reflex even more and because at one point I was scared I was going to vomit, I took out the impression plate and got yelled at for it. I didn't do it to be defiant but I was very uncomfortable and didn't want to get sick. Today I had my last appointment to get my permanents on. First thing is, they texted my mom telling her to make sure I take my anxiety medicine before I go. I thought that was uncalled for. I am an adult and just because I bring my mom with me for moral support and I have no other way cause I don't drive, doesn't mean I don't know that I have to take my medicine. I just felt like there was no empathy for my situation and they just didn't want to deal with me anymore. At todays appointment when the permanents we're getting put on, the dentist tried to pick off the extra cement and I was laying back so it felt like the cement pieces would go down my throat and I would choke so I sat up to spit them out. I got yelled at immediately and I pushed the nurses hand away cause I felt suffocated. Then I was yelled at for grabbing her hands and for sitting up while the cement was setting and I wasn't supposed to do that. Don't yell at your patients no matter how frustrated you are, have a little more sympathy and talk in a more calm voice. Grabbing the nurses hand was not an act of defiance , it was a reflex because I felt suffocated like I was gonna choke. Also, before my very first appointment nobody really told me want to expect so I was traumatized each time I came in. The front staff also talked to my mother and made it seem like they wanted her to keep certain information from me because of my anxiety. That's the worst thing you can do to someone with anxiety is keep them in the dark about medical procedures. I just wish there was more empathy towards me and maybe the doctors and nurses should take a course in how to deal with people with extreme anxiety because they clearly did not know how to handle me. There are a lot of people with my level of fear of the dentist and they need to know how to handle that. read more

It took me two months to get an appointment with this place. Each time I called the women on the phone were extremely rude. I finally go in for my appointment and they are rude and condescending to me about the fact that they can't request my records from my old dentist. Which every other dentist I've spoken to has a request form that you sign and send in. But whatever. I work as a substitute teacher, their hours are around 7-4 but they stop answering phones after 3pm apparently. I lost a whole day of work and wasn't even able to be seen by anyone for more than a lecture on radiation and HIPPA. I went to Dr. Lala and she filled it in one visit and charged me little more than what I paid the other doctor just for the exam. It's been over 6 months and I do not have any problem after that. I am unsure of the other reviewers. I think the owners have changed and the new dentist- Dr. Lalla- was great. My appointment was at 2 PM and I was taken in accordingly. I didn't have to wait at all like I usually do at any doctor or dentist's offices. Once I was in, she explained everything to me so I understood and proceeded. After we were done she explained next steps to me in layman's terms which I very much appreciated. I went to the front desk and scheduled my next appointment and got a price estimate for the upcoming work. The lady wasn't rude at all as the other reviewed stated which makes me think the staff has definitely changed. I went back and had my follow up and when I received the bill it was pretty spot on. When I went there the dentist that owned that office was very nice .Then he tells me this was his last day he was retired today and told me this other women was to take over . I was getting root canal done . Well the women at the desk was rude when I asked her how much it would be I'm told $125 . I said that sounds really cheap. I questioned the price again and again . So when I got the money I set it aside. When I go to my appointment . She had a sales rep in the room while I was waiting .Very rude , Gave me the shot and proceeded to drill right away. I said I could feel that. That was problem too, Then she asked about a crown but she said I didn't have enough money. And put a filling in . Until I paid the $80 for the filling then I could get the crown. Every other dentist I was told full price before I left the office. And to top it off I A really bad infection, couldn't eat or drink on my right side with a straw. When I called to tell the dentist she was going to call some medication in for me . And also they closed at 3 it was 1o'clock . I never got the prescription until 6:30 . I know this because I called around 2:30 . And nobody had gotten no fax or call from Horsham dental. I called again they said he was filling it when I called ,He told me they just called or fax . I was in so much pain. They could not believe How swollen my face was , They know me at Walgreens I have been going there for years. Every body Just looked at me. The only person was there that was nice and sweet was was the Dentist assistant and nurse was this woman Debbie . She doesn't belong there .I wish her good luck . The long and the short of it is, they charged me for 3 crowns when I only received 2. Dr. Lala went on maternity leave in the middle of my procedures, then came Covid. Last visit, I reminded the secretary that I was already paid up for the 2 crowns. Dr. Lala made the mistake by purchasing a 3rd because she thought she could save a tooth. When it didn't work out the way she planned, she informed me I wouldn't have to pay. Clearly, why would I? She is the professional and made the call before really understanding the situation. Given my experience so far, I choose to pay. I had good faith in them at the time and was under the impression the money would end up back in my wallet soon after; as the secretary informed me would happen once she confirmed with Dr. Lala. A note was added on my chart, then came radio silence. That being said, I understand things can get brushed under a rug but since then I have called the office with no return message (as of yet) and I've been receiving messages from them (automated by my chart) stating I'm over due for a check-up but nothing regarding my "apparent" note stating I'm over due to be paid back. It would be in everyone's best interest to rectify this situation as soon as possible. I'm sure my chart can vouch for it. If not, my bank records can. read more

My wife had a dental appoinment for a free consultation, during the consultation the Doctor said they will need x-ray to further evaluate the situation and that there will be a fee for the x-rays which was o.k. for us. After paying for her x-rays I noticed that there was a fee for the consultation and when I asked about this fee which should have been free, the Doctor stated that as soon as the x-ray were taken it was considerd as an Exam and not a consultation anymore.
