I just love coming to this gem in Downtown Davidson. Being a Davidson resident, I think it is…read moreimportant to support our small local businesses. This place is so unique and special. I shop here regularly and truly enjoy the experience. The Village Store is part of our quaint Main Street area not to be overlooked. You can shop for housewares, local foods, boutique clothing and jewelry, toys, Lake Life and Lake Norman local gifty items, like tshirts, pillows, tea towels, etc. There is so much to look at here, and trust me, you will find something you love! The staff there is very friendly and the store is so well stocked. The prices are very fair compared to other boutique style stores, but I'd say the Village Store has the biggest selection of home and gift items in the Lake area. They have begun putting out their fall decor, and they really have some beautiful displays during the Christmas season. I really enjoy shopping here.

They have a lot of unique items here, too, encouraging lengthy browsing. I was able to find a perfect gift for Christmas, and continue to visit this store every time I'm in Davidson. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, too. I only wish they were open later on Saturday night (like 7 or 8pm) so we could visit after dinner, rather than having to go before. Here I found a cute garden sign I will be adding to a vintage gate I am working on. Inside there were both Fall and Halloween items to decorate with. Inside the home each room is decorated to draw you in. There were candles and body lotions. Pictures and mirrors. Lots of treasures to be found. Vintage and vintage inspired. The store is largely furniture and decor with all kinds of design ideas throughout and they also have a section with local candles, sauces, apparel, salsa, coffee, etc. We purchased some cherries for old-fashioned drinks and a peach salsa made right in Davidson. Unfortunately I couldn't get them out in the mail in time due to being extraordinarily busy at work and having some health issues. To come back to your store with returns AND my receipt to only be offered a store credit with the amount that I spent is shameful and greedy. I don't have all the money in the world and I select your store for gifts because of what you offer. I will no longer be shopping there. When do you tell your customers about your return policy? You don't. Faintly at the bottom of a receipt AFTER purchase? Who looks at that? You are tricking people and it's poor business practice. You get to take my money and do whatever you want with it instead of refunding it to me so I can do e-cards to my friends instead. But that won't happen because you have my money. I hope you sleep well at night knowing you are taking advantage of people. Boycotting this store for good.
