Though the people were friendly ish and kept my mom clean I felt as if they shrugged us off a lot…read more A month before my mom was found unresponsive in her room I noticed a few changes one most importantly was her voice and her chest sounding really congested when she would breath I told the nurse about the concerns and she said she will have the doctor come take a look never heard an update went and visited her again and sounded worse at this point she couldn't even swallow her Starbucks drink it hurt her too bad . That Sunday after our visit we get a call Sunday night she was rushed to Mountain View due to being found unresponsive and my god the change in the way she looked I don't wish on no one she was intubated when doing so starting bleeding profusely her throat TURNS Out. The paramedics punctured a giant tumor and passed away a week later after her being tired of alway fighting for her life . I feel like my mom would maybe be alive if they actually listened to the patients family about health concerns instead of doing the bare minimum just to shut the family up

I will be doing a review on El Jen Healthcare and Rehab, now rebranded as Willow Haven…read more While I was at Centennial Hills Hospital, I was approved to be transferred there for rehab care. Everything was supposedly arranged, and transport was scheduled to pick me up at 7 PM. Before my transfer, I asked my boyfriend to visit the facility to make sure everything would be okay. He arrived around 3:15 PM and met with the administrator. The administrator confirmed my arrival and even showed him the room I would be staying in. We were told they would prepare my bed and get everything ready. Although the facility was older, we were fine with that as long as I received proper care. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill when I arrived. The first thing I noticed was the strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the facility. It smelled fresh, like someone had just been smoking nearby. Then I found out the staff on duty did not even know I was arriving. I asked for my medication because I had a severe headache, and they told me they did not have my prescriptions because they "didn't know I was coming." To make matters worse, I was placed in a bed without safety rails, even though I was considered a fall risk after everything I had just gone through medically. When I asked about it, I was told I would have to wait until Monday. This was Thursday night. At that point, I felt unsafe and completely unsupported. Because of my worsening headache and the lack of medication and proper care, I ended up calling 911 myself to be transported back to Centennial Hills Hospital. After being hospitalized for such a long time and going through such a serious health journey, this experience was extremely upsetting and disappointing. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend El Jen Healthcare/Rehab, now Willow Haven. The lack of communication, preparation, and patient care was unacceptable.

Melissa runs a fantastic facility, the whole team is welcoming and kind, definitely my kind of people! At the end of the day, the part that stands out the most is how happy all the residents are; they don't just live in a building, they have truly built a community.

Where to begin. I guess with management change. Markie was not approachable, tried to introduce her as a 3 year residents daughter one time, she couldn't be bothered and was quite rude. this past year we experienced my mom falling and waiting for 20 minutes for a caregiver to help her, housekeepers serving food due to the shortage of servers, staff members complaining about management to residents, I could go on and on My sister reached out after a 500.00 rent increase per month with no explanation other than cost of living (??!!!) to Kris Waluszko asking questions and expressing concerns. Weeks after original email we got no resolve, no reason for rent increase but now she was in a "premium room" Again no explanation Markie is recruiting new residents with multiple issues so higher rent can be charged, targeting wealthy communities in Summerlin. Hospice residents, causing caregivers to be overworked. My mom's caregiver of almost 4 years yelled at her one day because she was in a hurry. Totally unacceptable. We've moved our mother to a more nurturing, caring facility . Our next step is to contact the state ombudsman. Please shop wisely when placing your loved ones in assisted living. Atria Seville is cold and uncaring. Just ask their staff

Since my mom moved in last summer, I have been nothing short of amazed by the level of dedication and compassion the staff demonstrates every day. From the moment we arrived, it felt like family. The team members genuinely care about the well-being of each resident, and it shows in their interactions with my mom. They go above and beyond to ensure she feels comfortable, safe, and engaged, which has made a world of difference for her quality of life. The facility itself is welcoming and designed with the needs of residents in mind. My mom has been encouraged to participate in various activities tailored to her interests, which has helped her maintain a sense of joy and purpose. Communication has also been excellent. The staff keeps me informed about her progress and any concerns they may have, ensuring I feel involved in her care. They take the time to listen to my questions and always provide thoughtful responses, which eases my worries. Overall, the warmth and professionalism at Avamere at Cheyenne have reassured me that my mom is in the best possible hands. I couldn't be more grateful for the care she receives and the genuine connections we've built with the staff. If you're looking for a place that treats residents like family, this is it. Thank you for all that you do!

Believe me, I am there all the time, see everything, and am always in their face about something (especially the first 8 months). I have never felt like my concerns have been dismissed! While assisted living is never perfect, you do have to watch over your family, they do an excellent job of making sure everyone is cared for. I have noticed now that the facility has filled up, they have hired more staff which is great (that is why the prices increased this Feb 2025) because you want more staff. My parents say their don't like the food but they are picky. I have personally tasted the food and it is good. I do believe they could have more healthier versions vs fried foods, plus change the standard menu more often, but I am not sure if the majority of the residents want that? It is restaurant style (special dishes everyday are offered during lunch/dinner) but residents can go down and eat anytime between 7-7p. The bus, which is free, for booking medical appointments is M/W/F between 9-2p and they do outings to stores on Tuesdays plus casino trips on Thursdays. Do I think they should have more outings for the residents?....yes! One time they took them to Bellagio to see the atrium but there hasn't been anything really since. My parents loved this trip. My parents are fortunate to have my husband and i live close by so I signed them up and book them on the RTC Para-transit bus to nails, hair, doctor apptointments, restaurants, casino trips so they get out a lot. They are 91 and 93 years old! I like they keep the facility very clean. There was a bit of a problem with the alert necklaces but I have been assured they are testing 3x daily and making sure the system is up to date and working. I cannot say enough about how wonderful all the staff at Avamere at Cheyenne are to my parents. Its a very hard job and I give kudos to them all.
