I knew that day I would become a mother. After my surgery, I became pregnant within a couple of months, and his care throughout my journey was exceptional. He monitored me closely with weekly labs and constant communication--every drive and every visit was absolutely worth it. His experience and attention to detail stood out immediately; he anticipated complications early on and guided me every step of the way. Thanks to his guidance and referral to a specialist, critical conditions like my baby's growth restriction and my developing preeclampsia were caught--things that were unfortunately missed in the U.S. When my condition progressed to HELLP syndrome, Dr. Gamiño continued to show incredible care, personally checking on me and even taking my calls early in the morning while I was hospitalized. Because of him, my baby boy was born healthy, without complications, and never needed the NICU. I will never forget the role he played in this miracle. Thank you, Dr. Gamiño, for helping fulfill God's promise in my life and for being not only an incredible doctor, but a truly compassionate human being.

For years, my wife struggled with heavy, dark menstrual cycles, unbearable chronic pelvic pain, and…read moreother debilitating symptoms. Numerous visits to emergency rooms and medical providers resulted in misdiagnoses, often attributing her ailments to existing conditions. We had come to believe this was simply her reality. On an unrelated note, we were referred to Dr. Gamiño, and after thorough research, we decided to seek his expertise. His initial assessment and ultrasound examination quickly indicated endometriosis. When my wife began describing her symptoms, Dr. Gamiño confidently interrupted and accurately listed her symptoms based on his findings. We then went to Imagen Radiologica Integral for an MRI, where Dr. Gamiño personally ensured all details were reviewed. The results confirmed endometriosis, adenomyosis, and other undisclosed conditions. After carefully considering our options, we chose to move forward with the laparoscopic surgery. After a nerve-wrecking 4-6 hours of surgery, the procedure was successful. A month later, my wife is experiencing a significant recovery, feeling better than she has in 20 years. While we have read about difficult recoveries for this type of surgery involving heavy bleeding, intense pain, and significant scarring, our experience has been the opposite: minimal bleeding, well-healing incisions, and manageable pain with over-the-counter medication. As an American, I understand that the Mexican medical protocols may differ from what we're used to, which can initially be challenging and off-putting. However, once understood, the system proves effective. Dr. Gamiño is an ethical and scientifically-minded physician. He is direct and won't sugarcoat the truth. He is detail-oriented and committed to factual information and achievable goals, foregoing theoretical discussions. He requires active patient participation and will not shy away from delivering difficult truths when it comes to your health. This straightforwardness, though sometimes perceived as insensitive, is driven by a deep commitment to objectivity and ensuring the most positive medical results, akin to a stern but caring parent." Beyond the initial impression, Dr. Gamiño's sincerity shines through in his stories, demonstrating a remarkable pride in his profession and the genuine pleasure he derives from helping patients transform their lives. A glimpse into his personal life revealed a man deeply committed to his loved ones, his hobbies (cooking, the countryside, and dumplings!), and his work. His strong faith in God is evident, and he conveys a powerful message about its importance. Immense thankfulness is felt for Dr. Gamiño's role in this journey, a true source of hope during a difficult time. Profound gratitude is felt for Dr. Gamiño's presence, a true silver lining during a challenging period. I pray that GOD blesses his hands so that he may continue to improve his patients' lives.

Borrego Women's Health with Dr. Robert Segnit was a bad experience! He was "polite" enough but the appt was a total waste of time! He was snarky with me at the end & did NOT want to consider a pelvic congestion or venous issue as a source of chromic pelvic pain with the fibroids. 2 years later I am now at UCSD about to get UAE for fibroids & will probably need a STENT in the Left common Iliac vein. It took an MRA to diagnose. Over the last 2 yrs pelvic pain increased & pain/pressure in left leg veins increased~Generally an unwell feeling in the entire body. Thankfully UCSD gyno & UCSD IR listened to me & UCSD IR doc was an angel! No ego & a genuinely compassionate doc willing to explore further (b/c gyno also threw out a possible Endometriosis dx on the table) Dr. Robert Segnit (gyno) who was the colleague of Dr. Tracie Davis, is apparently retired now. Initially I wanted to see her, but she was booked, so I went with him. Maybe if I had seen the female doc she would've listened to me? But I doubt it b/c none of my other docs listened. I think male gynos & male IR for UAE are bad & non-empathetic. Male docs don't have the anatomy & cannot comprehend the severe & deep pain in the pelvis or the annoyance of bladder incontinence from bulky fibroid uterus. ***I had 2 older male docs who basically misdiagnosed me & had ZERO clue where the pain & pressure were coming from & did NOTHING for me to try to figure out WHY I was suffering. The male IR doc was not at this clinic. He was at {American Access Care~Dr. Zachary Rattner} Dr. Rattner was trying to tell me I didn't know the difference between uterine or ovarian pain & he didn't even know what PCOS was. He kept interrupting me every time I said "pain in the uterus". He refused to do UAE on my multiple fibroids b/c I wasn't "bleeding enough" & he thought the pain was probably in my ovaries. (umm well at UCSD I did show venous reflux bilaterally in the ovaries on the MRA but the pain in 2021 was dead center near, where my IUD was inserted) I think these older arrogant, male docs in their 60's or 70's are not up to speed or up to date with the current literature, research & diagnoses. May-Thurner & pelvic venous congestion DO exist & everything should be done for women to test for Iliac Vein compressions to rule that out. Some women may not be symptomatic, but for those of us who are symptomatic, we need the proper dx & tx!

Literally from the moment I arrived - I was treated so kindly - everyone was SO NICE. I met with the doctor and we discussed everything I wanted to do. Dr. Quiroz did my surgery and he was very cool and down to earth. He listened carefully to all my requests and opinions and DELIVERED. I could not be happier with my results. Stress and very large weight gains and losses did a number on my face so I wanted to get a deep plane face and neck lift. I could not have imagined I would look this good. I look so much younger and refreshed - and it looks natural - no weird plastic surgery look. Dr. Quiroz is an artist - but also just a super nice person. He immediately put me at ease and I was able to just relax and enjoy the process. I am a mother to young kids and coming to Vida was literally the best vacation I've had in years. I stayed in the recovery suite. The room was so comfortable - nice TV with streaming services to watch my favorite shows while I recovered. Fast WiFi so no important business interruptions while on my trip. AMAZING food brought to my room - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Incredibly nice staff that came to check on my medical needs several times a day. It was just an amazing experience that someone like me could never in a million years afford in the US. I'm so happy with how I look - thank you so very much to Dr. Quiroz and all the staff at VIDA.

I traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to VIDA for a deep plane facelift with Dr. Quiroz after…read morespending months researching surgeons and reading everything I could find about the procedure. At 55 years old, I wanted a surgeon who had performed deep plane facelifts for many years and a facility that could support me through recovery. I flew into San Diego where the shuttle driver texted me after I landed and told me exactly where to meet him. The drive to Tijuana was easy. There were two other women in the shuttle, both returning to VIDA for additional procedures after having surgery there before. During the ride they talked about their results, their previous experiences, and why they were coming back. As someone traveling for surgery for the first time, hearing that from actual patients was reassuring. Everyone I encountered spoke excellent English, including the drivers, coordinators, nurses, and doctors. Most of the patients I met were Americans who had traveled from different parts of the United States. If someone had dropped me off there without telling me where I was, I could easily have believed I was in a medical facility somewhere in the U.S. When I arrived, my luggage was stored while I completed my pre-operative appointments. I had blood work, a urine test, an EKG, photographs, and consultations. After that I checked into the recovery center for the night before surgery. One thing I appreciated was that everything was located in the same building. The hospital, recovery center, pharmacy, medical offices, and café were all there. I never had to travel from one location to another or worry about transportation between appointments. The morning of surgery I changed into the gown they provided and was given medication to help me relax. I remember being taken into the operating room, lying down on the table, and then waking up later in a hospital bed with a nurse telling me my surgery was finished. I was nervous to look in the mirror because I expected to be extremely swollen and bruised. When I finally looked, I was surprised. There was swelling, of course, but much less than I had imagined. I was not heavily bruised and looked far more normal than I expected after a major surgery. After leaving the hospital, I returned to the recovery center for several nights. Nurses checked on me regularly, brought my medications, monitored my recovery, and were available whenever I needed something. Meals were delivered directly to my room. The food included fresh fruit, vegetables, chicken, soups, salads, potatoes, and smoothies. Coffee, tea, water, and snacks were always available. Violeta answered every question I had before surgery and responded quickly to emails and messages. She helped coordinate all of the details and made the process easy. Rocio was equally helpful during my stay and always made sure I knew what was happening next. Dr. Quiroz answered my questions, explained the procedure, and never made me feel rushed. One of the reasons I chose him was his experience with deep plane facelifts, and throughout my stay I met patients who had previously had surgery with him and were returning again for additional procedures. I am writing this review only one week after surgery. I still have some swelling, especially in my neck, and some bruising, but I already look dramatically different than I did before surgery. My neck was one of the main reasons I decided to have this procedure. It had bothered me for years. Even with swelling still present, it already looks smooth. Over the past few days I have been putting my before photos next to photos taken this week, and I am honestly amazed by the difference. I look younger. Friends and family who have seen photos have noticed it too. The most exciting part is knowing that I am still very early in the healing process and that my final result is still months away. Anyone considering a deep plane facelift should understand that swelling, bruising, temporary asymmetry, tightness, numbness, and visible stitches are normal parts of recovery. No one looks like their final result during the first week. Swelling goes down, bruising fades, stitches are removed, and everything continues to settle over time. That is simply part of the process. I live in Northern California, and when I compare the cost of surgery, transportation, recovery accommodations, nursing care, and follow-up support to what I would have paid locally, the difference is substantial. More importantly, I do not know of any facility near me that provides this level of coordinated care, where surgery, recovery, transportation, nursing support, pharmacy services, and follow-up care are all connected in one place. One week after surgery, I am extremely happy with my decision to come to VIDA. I trusted Dr. Quiroz, Violeta, Rocio, and their team with a major procedure, and based on my experience so far, I would absolutely make the same decision again.

He has a way of listening and speaking that makes me feel like I matter, and my desires are worth listening to. He is an incredibly talented Dr and I am so grateful that I was able to have my second delivered by him. I don't know how this is possible but he doesn't seem to have been jaded by the medical field nor is he a slave to the system - he is one of a kind and an excellent advocate for women. I come from a family of Doctors so I say this with respect -- but most have an ego about them and I have felt patronized and dismissed by some. Dr Cobb is not that way at all. He is both confident and humble in his care. He made me feel safe and cared for. He has a way about him that is integrous and highly capable. If you are a mom carrying a piece of you into the world you probably feel both the heavy responsibility and fear of getting it right. Other OBs did not think it was necessary since I was young and it was "only" my first miscarriage. I was too scared to try again until someone recommended Dr. Cobb. Dr. Cobb respects and truly understands my concerns, and he was willing to take extra steps to ensure my pregnancy was closely monitored. He made me feel that I had a certain level of control over my pregnancy, rather than simply being instructed. During delivery, my baby's heart rate was unstable for five hours, and I was unable to make further progress after reaching eight centimeters dilation. I asked whether it was time for an emergency C section. Dr. Cobb eased my mind and placed additional monitors to carefully track my baby's heart rate. My baby boy was ultimately delivered safely through a vaginal birth. I feel incredibly blessed to have had him as my OB throughout this pregnancy. Every visit made me feel respected, well cared for, and reassured. I would recommend him to everyone in San Diego!
