Hostaria storica di quartiere situata proprio di fronte a Piazza Menenio Agrippa sede del mercato di Montesacro sulla via Nomentana in perfetta zona di passaggio. La conduzione della famiglia Pagnozzi rende questo locale estremamente accogliente e piacevole. La qualità del cibo in tavola davvero ottima e il rispetto della tradizione è sempre al primo posto. Il motto principe del locale è "Ar Menenio se mangia bene e ...in pace!" ,ed è così che potrai gustare piatti davvero gustosi come la stracciatella in brodo,la pasta e ceci, i tonnarelli cacio e pepe, i rigatoni con la pajata o alla carbonara, i bucatini all'amatriciana, la coda alla vaccinara, la trippa alla romana, il pollo con i peperoni, i saltimbocca, l'abbacchio scottadito o cotto a legna con le patate, le puntarelle, i carciofi e la cicoria tutto nel rispetto della più antica e buona tradizione romana.

If blind folded and given this pizza you would never guess it was , well, pizza. But there it is , in all its glory and simplicity. And oh so lip smackingly good! Pro tip- try the potato ball fritters , they are really good, spicy and with a melted cheese center, oh my!

Also worth noting that the size of sandwich indicates the number of meats you want... small=1 meat, medium=2, and large=3... All the sandwiches are made on the same type of ciabatta roll. Even if it's a bit out of your way, it was a pleasant diversion from the touristy/busy/crowded environment closer to the center of Rome.

Andare a mangiare da Menenio Agrippa è sempre una conferma! Ci son stato la prima volta il 3 febbraio dell'anno scorso per festeggiare il compleanno della mia compagna. In realtà era il giorno in cui a Roma cominciò a nevicare, e quello era l'unico postor aggiungibile a piedi da casa. Che dire... era come stare in montagna!! Mangiammo un'ottima polenta con le spuntature di maiale, anche se gli altri ospiti gustavano e mangiavano specialità tipiche romane per cui questo ristorante è anche famoso. Locale storico di Montesacro, gestito da due fratelli molto inseriti nel conteso sociale del quartiere e ad esso legati. Memori della cucina di una volta, Menenio Agrippa offre la tradizione Romana, leggermente rivisitata ma di alto livello. Ci mangio in maniera continuativa tre o quattro volte al mese, puntando sulla Cacio e pepe, o sulla Carne ottima. Il personale è sempre attento, anche nelle serate piene, consiglio di prenotare prima, e di attenersi all'orario. Il prezzo non è certo di fascia bassa, ma è assolutamente adatto alla qualità del cibo e al servizio. read more
