Best food in Italy. Lobster pasta was incredible. Definitely coming back when wee return to Rome.

Randomly walked here after going to the nearby museum. We were seated immediately on a Wednesday during lunch. Our waiter kept correcting how we pronounced everything we ordered. Ok bro-we get it- we're not Italian. But at least we tried. The ravioli was just ok. There was nothing special about out it. We also ordered the soup and it was also just mediocre. I wouldn't come back here again tho. Nothing really special about it and there are so many other places that are way better in the area.

We were able to get a table right away and seated downstairs in a quiet area. The house wine they suggested was delicious. The bufala mozzarella was great for starter. Then the truffle pasta came out shortly after and was fantastic.

Did a lunch walkable and sat outside. The waiters and servers were super nice and cared. Monday a lot of restaurants are closed so this was prime spot to be. Lots of walk-ups. English music with fun cover songs played. Had delicious cappuccinos with fun hearts and the food, the food! Wow wow wow Lasagna, truffle cream, porcini mushroom, mozzarella and fresh truffle. The fettuccini with porcini mushroom, truffles and truffle cream. Both were so good and so reasonably priced. We had such a fantastic meal we will be back tomorrow night. 10/10 recommend. Went back for a second night and got the aperol which was 8 euros and the spaghetti carbonara that's a must try! The Buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto lived up to the hype.

As this was my first actual restaurant I ate in Rome I regret to say pasta will never be the same. The pasta here authentic and tasty and the flavors lite. I found the cacio y Pepe simple and good. The pasta noodles was in a parmasean bowl that was pretty cool.4.5/5 The lobster was frozen dry and not sweet although the potatoes and cucumber was good the lobster I could do without. 2/5 Truffle fettuccine was 4/5 very light on the flavor Table next to us asked for salt The beef filet was probably the only dish that I was used to. I found the beef was ok 3/5 Come here for the appetizers and pasta tho And the truffles of course. I declined on wine but got lightheaded from truffle

Went to this cozy restaurant for dinner. Ordered a mixed cuts platter as an appetizer and the lasagna porcini and cacio e pepe for our entrees.

This was probably one of the most anticipated places for me on my trip. The service was spectacular. They have a menu that you can read in English and servers that communicate well as well. Probably an unpopular opinion but I went to Italy already expecting pasta & risottos to be Al dente in several places but I think many of them surpassed Al dente. Seemed undercooked with the powdery grainy taste. - beef tartare (dry and not flavored well) 2/5 - tagliolni (love the truffle and cheesy flavor, wished the noodles were cooked through) 4/5 - risotto carnaroli (same as noodles) 4/5 It was overall OK. I got reeled in by the truffles

We popped in without a reservation and they made room for us. Our waiter was nice and informed us of some Roman versions of things we knew. The local specialties were on the menu, so we jumped in with Negroni cocktails, followed by carbonara and amatriciana which were both amazing and reasonably priced. The quantity was perfect and the seasoning and textures spot on. We finished with tiramisu which was also yummy (even tho there is no booze in it like American tiramisu). They offer a lot of truffle dishes too, but that is not my thing and they had plenty for me! There is patio and indoor dining. We ate downstairs, and enjoyed seeing the wall of wine.

If you like the original flavor of the food ingredients, this is your spot. Personally, I don't. 1/5: Had the steak with black truffle, I thought it was stewed because of the dark color online but it was just plain beef without much seasoning. You can taste the truffle but it's not as strong flavor as I like my beef. Just personal preference. 3/5 ravioli: only 4 pieces. Nothings special. Truffle doesn't add much flavor 3.5/5 Artichoke: super smooth and creamy, but not much flavor 5/5 tiramisu: super creamy and soft. Much have. More expensive than other places than I had but not as good. Opens at 7pm, not 6:30pm.

If you are in Rome, please make a reservation for this restaurant. Don't try to walk in because most of the time, you wouldn't get a seat at all. We went there on Saturday before they open and expecting to eat there, but it turn out it was fully booked. We were so disappointed it. Luckily, we stay longer in Rome and we made a reservation for Monday since they weren't open on Sunday. The pasta dishes were really different from other places. There were lots of black truffle on top of pasta and the texture of the fresh pasta was cooked in perfection. The flavor was also on point, lots of truffle with each bite of pasta. It really made my trip to Rome worth it.

Get the truffles! Ravioli is incredible with truffles here! Had it twice ... yummy!

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

You see mostly locals here, and they're regulars. The restaurant is spacious but also intimate and the men serving were efficient & welcoming. Not super friendly but can tell they're very hard workers. It was located near our air bnb & worth the walk everyday. We actually looked forward to it after doing our daily activities. The workers eventually recognized us and treated us like friends. Hence the name of the restaurant- Buoni Amici = Good Friends. Plenty of wine choices and great food to go with it. The penne was missing something but good thing we ordered it with the steak as an extra dish. Everything else we had was amazing, we had it everyday & tried with one other new dish each day. No complaints! We would even get there nearly closing time, & never felt like we weren't welcomed. Almost asked them if they needed help wiping each glass & cleaning up lol There was a dessert that we seen others eating during lunch with strawberries that we were going to come back for at dinner but sadly was all gone, so I imagine it's a hit. We enjoyed the sorbetto al limone every time though! I could go on & on about this place but I'll leave the rest to your imagination. Highly recommend We'll be back on our next trip to Rome! It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
