Men Wielding Fire's BBQ wings came as no surprise since they have been perfecting this flavor for at least 15 years. We actually wanted to try Moonshine BBQ but the lines were long and barely seemed to be moving (usually a good sign of good flavors) but we wanted to get out of the heat. Starting at 4 pm you won't get every artist in at every stop. The area has expanded from almost Mt Rose Street to Living Stones on Virginia and around the corner onto California Street. Artists that cover the entire spectrum- painters that use all the different mediums, fashion art, musicians and even food art. You can wander in and out of many shops and check out all the displays and talk to each artist. Hang out in sections roped off to enjoy live music and DJ's and grab a bite from one of the many food trucks or a local restaurant. Our 4 mile hike was quite the adventure on this beautiful sunny afternoon that continues into the cool Reno evening. We saw as much as possible, and found time for a bite of dinner. A wonderful way to spend some time with great friends and check out the local art scene.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was basically a fun outdoor fair with tons of vendors serving barbecue and selling BBQ-related items. We drove three hours, arrived early, got great parking, and were excited to start eating some ribs. There were four of us, so our plan was to cover more ground. Each person bought a half slab from a different vendor so we could try several places. Unfortunately, the ribs were a HUGE disappointment. Right away, I could tell that a lot of these ribs were made with very little care. Several still had the membrane on, and most were bland and tasteless. It honestly felt like no thought, effort, or love went into them. When you drive three hours specifically for a rib cook off, the RIBS should be the best part! I remember this event being something worth looking forward to, but this year it felt more about making money and getting food out than quality and customer satisfaction. I was so disappointed that I'll probably skip this event for the next 2-3 years. The funny part is, the sides were actually the highlight. We enjoyed the cornbread, fried pickles, onion rings, popcorn, and beer. But the ribs? They sucked. For an event called the Rib Cook Off, that's a pretty big problem. After a three-hour drive and eating at a few different vendors, I expected a whole lot better.

We had no plans to come to the Wing Festival, but we were in the area and decided to check it out…read more We came many years ago and wow has it grown. Plenty of Vendors and even better, it was very well attended. We saw two stages, with each playing different styles of live music. There were also plenty of places to sit down and eat. The last time, I remember seating being very limited. Unfortunately, we had just had lunch, so we only had drinks, but will make it a point to come to this festival next year.

While most of the cars are in the 1900-1940 year range there's enough other variety to keep it from feeling monotonous (like a Porsche race car, NASCAR cars, jet car, a handful of interesting motorcycles, etc.) Imagining the man hours that went into building some of these intricate older cars is mind boggling. What I found most interesting was reading the couple of paragraphs on most of the plaques next to the cars. Just looking at the cars without reading the story behind them is a big mistake here. To go slowly through the entire place and read everything is probably a half day (4-hour) endeavor. So plan to devote at the absolute minimum 2 hours to your visit. The only downside is there isn't a cafe to have something to eat or drink. Hosting private events seems to be the focus here when it comes to food and beverage service. Still a must visit for anyone interested in cars or not.

This was my first time at the Reno River Festival and I had a good time. The vendors were nice,…read morefriendly, and genuinely passionate about their craft which was very refreshing. The live performances were fun, and I can definitely see this becoming a staple for Reno Events. I didn't expect to pay $20 for entrance which was a bummer as we were going to bring more family and friends but the entry cost was a little too high for bringing kids. There were a nice set of carnival rides, but I was discouraged on buying tickets as we had already $40 to get into the event and wanted to save some of our budget to buy things from vendors. We went on the last day of the event, in the early afternoon and it was nice to see more locals enjoying themselves and it wasn't too crowded which was a plus in our book! My fiancé and I loved that dogs are welcome to join us as some other outdoor events do not allow us to bring our puppy. Overall, the variety of food, atmosphere, and performances were awesome! I only wish the entry price was reduced as I would've brought more people and would've had more money to spend on the vendors. Final verdict... I would definitely come back, but only if the entry prices come down or are removed. If this is your first time attending the event, the $20 is not so bad to see the art installations and see the live performances. I would recommend this for first timers.

First visit to Greater Nevada Field and wow, what an amazing experience! Came early and left after…read morefireworks, and the parking and traffic in and out were trouble-free. Great traffic control and good stadium layout. The stadium was large, but not too large, with great views, lots of different concessions, and fun shopping (Archie was in the team shop!)--all without massive crowds. And even though it had rained earlier, the seats were completely dry. As an added bonus, the bathroom was also nicer than I expected, with an attendant keeping everything super clean. Maybe because there were so many specialty options, the basic hotdogs here weren't quite as good as other places I've tried. And the Beloved's pretzel was good but the cheese dip was bland and too thin for it, although service was quick and efficient. Next time I'll try a brat or chorizo. Lines were very manageable. Best of all, strong hitters and great pitching led to an Aces victory in a very satisfying, fun-filled game against the River Cats (9 hits means a free Blaze pizza...don't forget to take a pic of the promo code)! Capped off by some really amazing fireworks, this was definitely a fun evening out that needs to be put on repeat!

What a Blast at the Reno Aces!…read more We were invited by some friends to go to a Reno Aces game, and what a blast we had! They had extra tickets, and we ended up with Floor 1 seats right behind home plate--talk about the best seats in the house! It was Family Day, so the hot dogs were only $1.50, and they were hot, fresh, and so good! The Aces were playing the El Paso Chihuahuas, and even though the Aces didn't get the win, it was still such a fun and exciting game. Where we were sitting, we were blessed to have Richard & Kathie, our wonderful hosts in our seating section. Richard was also working the area, keeping an eye on where the foul balls were landing and making sure everyone was having a great time. Throughout the game, there were always team members getting up on different stages during the little breaks, encouraging the crowd to cheer, sing, and dance. At one point, they played the Electric Slide, and of course, I had to get up and join in! Richard came over and danced the Electric Slide with me, and then he surprised me by giving me a game ball! What a special and unexpected moment! The crowd was cheering, and it made the whole experience even more memorable. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect--the energy, the crowd, the music, and all the fun between innings made for such a wonderful evening. We can't wait to go back to another Reno Aces game! It's definitely an experience we'll remember!
