First of the summer concert series and the Eagles tribute band, Life in the Fast Lane, was amazing!! Although the information suggested low back beach chairs, most people were in higher chairs, so it was a little difficult to see, but the acoustics were great!. The band was excellent, and the venue was good. They could have cleaned off the outside chairs, prior to the event, as there were cobwebs and tree sap all over them. There were three food trucks, and a full-service bar. There was an array of food (burgers/grilled cheese, donuts, and jerked chicken). Unfortunately, the burger and grilled cheese truck ran out of propane, very early, so there was an extended wait for food, while they waited for another propane bottle to arrive. Overall, a great event! If you're looking for a beautiful location on the river to chill and enjoy an outdoor concert, this is the spot! We will definitely purchase more tickets!

A neat museum, even for someone who doesn't have a big interest in cars. The exhibits were well maintained and the staff were all friendly! If you are in town looking for something to do, it is worth a stop.

My family is a big fan of vintage cars, and the National Automobile Museum in Reno has a great collection. It's a great place to walk around, and the staff is always willing to answer questions or tell you the stories behind the cars. It's located right off the river and has plenty of parking. I recommend it!

Pro's: Wow...did not have any idea how cool it would be inside this museum. TONS of cars but there for an event, so will review this as an event venue. Very fair bar prices. Con's: Seems the sound system could be upgraded...hard to hear the MCs on the mic. Go back?: Absolutely...for the cars, next time! More... I attended a show here with the Reno Blues Society featuring an opening by the Jason King Band and then Tommy Castro and The Painkillers. Talk about up-close-and-personal...easy to dance right in front of the musicians and really get into it!

This was a good curated collection of automobiles. It had carriage cars to modern sports cars. The 5 galleries are well organized with surprise vehicles along the way! They set up displays around more famous vehicles to give context to what you're looking at! The collection is extensive, with beautiful RRs to the Mystery Machine ! Good staff and clean facilities.

Free museum day was a huge hit. There were literally 100's of people here for the entire time we toured the museum. Clean, well organized and there are signs to inform us what we were seeing. There are new things to see since our last visit last winter.

We love coming here!! Had an absolute blast with Scooby Doo and the gang. The old school cars(model t, Ford, studerbaker) were so pretty and shiny. I always forgot how incredibly large the vehicles were back then. I know they loved riding in luxury. They also had the Jurassic park, the batman(from the 50s show) motorcycle with the side car. So much to look at plus the movie theatre to enjoy! We have came here before to see Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater. That was an awesome trip too.

I am so glad I became a member this year! I have attended some super fun events. One of them was buying Adam Carolla tickets and I spent $20 more for the meet and greet which 10x worth it! It was a lovely evening! They had a no host bar with a nice wine pour and three types of appetizers that were incredibly delicious. There was a very tiny cone filled with goodness. Like a chicken maple waffle. I can still taste it! Adam was a very nice man like you had known him for ever! I loved that he bought the Paul Newman car collection and loaned it to the National Automobile museum for a temporary display for all of Reno/Sparks and tourists to enjoy! One of my favorite exhibits. If your VIP you get to enter first so we had upfront seats and the opening comedian was hysterical. It was a nice opening for Adam! He was great just as I expected. I laughed and laughed. The entire evening was special, a night to remember! I can't wait for the next event.

While in Reno for a couple of days and wanting to explore, I discovered The National Automobile Museum was located there. Since I drive a car, I immediately had something in common with it so I made a visit earlier this week. It's located near downtown and has its own free parking lot. I believe an adult admission was $16. Outside, it kind of looks like a modern Porsche dealership with its silver color and rounded exterior facade. Inside it's quite an impressive car collection. The museum consists of 4 galleries housing automobiles from the past. From the late 1800's to about the 1960's. I thought all of the galleries were interesting but my favorites were the first two showing the first cars of the 1890's thru the 1920's The specimens that they had on display were immaculate. The storyboards in front of each vehicle gave thorough explanations of each auto. I wish most of them were written in larger letters for easy reading. I especially enjoyed looking at all of the hood emblems that were on cars back then from Rolls Royce to Chevrolet, In Gallery 4 there were movie cars. One was a white Cadillac used by Elvis and another was a first generation Corvette given to John Wayne that he gave to friend and co star Ward Bond. Of course they have a small gift shop if you are interested. This is an excellent automobile collection and museum that you should visit. Budget about 2 hours.

I'm actually not a car enthusiast, but I had heard a lot good reviews about this museum, so I decided to drop by. Parking was not easy for me especially since the cars in the lot are huge, so I had to be extra careful. I lucked out and was able to get a good spot. Admission was $15 per person. The volunteer who took care of that was very nice and informative on what to expect in the museum. The museum is massive and has plenty of space to walk around. It was fun to see the cars from different eras. I enjoyed seeing the older forms of vehicles. Older cars are very flashy and attention seeking. Overall, I highly recommend this museum even if you don't care about cars. It's fun to see the different forms of vehicles and how they have evolved over the years.

We definitely recommend you come and enjoy a walk here it's so very worth it and fun ! We visited this Museum over the weekend, front desk was very nice, they have complimentary strollers to use while you're there, and there is 5 car galleries . While we stopped to use the restroom and breastfeed baby we got to have a great conversation with the gift shop lady, spoke about places to visit, she mentioned about she went on the road with her dad to the Grand Canyon, she recommended some places in yellow stone. We talked about gift shop items, she was so nice and my mommy brain forgot her name. We really enjoyed walking and admiring all the cars, they have some vehicles used in movies too which was so cool to see, (we are ghost rider fans ) so that was amazing, you can see the wear on them ! my favorite part was the photo opportunity they have set up with one vintage car, we really enjoyed it and took so many pictures Also favorite part was the president speech prop we played and gave speeches and it was funny and cool ! Getting to play in the kids interactive area as an adult is cool too ! We stopped by the gift shop on the way out to buy a couple of memory items , a beautiful Reno mug , key chain, a sticker and a magnet.

Very neat museum! I spent about an hour here, but it can definitely take closer to 2 hours if you take the time to read all the descriptions. Theres around 4-5 exhibit rooms, covers auto history from the very beginning to motorsports to a select few Hollywood cars.

Perhaps one of the top five car museums in the world. Focusing mainly on American market cars, the National has an enormous number of early 1900's vehicles, all in good shape and well displayed. Really shows how much the manufacturers back then emphasized style and flair. The badges alone are worth the price of admission.

Most recently we visited Toytopia. This exhibit offers the chance to explore a hands-on history of toys from the past and into the future. My kids loved the oversized robotic claw, reminiscent of an amped up arcade machine. It was a blast trying to get the individually articulating fingers to close around the ball in order to lift it into the basket for the big reward. We also enjoyed the oversized battleship game. So fun to play and we spent 20-30 min there. Mr Potato Head was old school fun too. We made a competition out of it to see who could make the wackiest example. I think I won... or maybe my kids let me win. But the favorite had to be the mini arcade they had setup with some of the best old school cabinets. Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Dig Dug and so many more are all here as part of the exhibit and you could spend a long time here without realizing it! Oh and there's even a Zoltar fortune teller too! When you're done at toytopia you can go learn the history of Wilbur D May on the other side of the museum. The real highlight of the place, though, was the museum-quality sci-fi movie and TV show displays they had throughout the building. It was like geek heaven. You could tell it was assembled with a combination of passion for the subject matter and a desire to share as much as possible with visitors. There were tons of obscure and iconic Star Wars-and Star Trek-related items in display cabinets everywhere, as well as a lot of interesting information about science-related human accomplishments through time. It's too much to describe . . . I highly recommend a visit if you're at all interested in anything sci-fi-related. It was fascinating for me; I had a really good time taking in as much as I could learning about meteorites, learning about the T.A.R.D.I.S. from Dr. Who, posing next to the R2-D2, etc. etc. It was great. Parking in the West Stadium Parking Complex was super easy; you just park on the third floor (which is the garage-entrance floor off the main street) and the Planetarium is practically connected right to the garage via a very small walkway/bridge right off the third floor.

The wife was looking at libraries to bring our kids to while on our little vacation to Reno this summer. Well, she found out that the downtown library in Reno is somewhat famous! Yup, that's right, a cool library that's even well known. Apparently this library has always been filled with wonderful indoor plants of all kinds. As I walked in I was quite impressed by how green the space and relaxing the environment was because of all the beautiful plants. Oh yeah: - so so so many plants all over, hanging, standing, growing sideways, coming down towards you, they are all around. - all kinds of from pothos, monsteras, fiddle leaf figs, and succulents to spider plants and snake plants. If you can think of it, and it's an indoor plant, it's probably here! - Multiple floors with so many book stacks and more - several of the floors are kind of half floors, interesting right? - friendly staff who helped my kids and provided a fun scavenger hunt for them (keep them young longer). They said it was fun even without prizes. - basement floor is actually like an indoor atrium of sorts, you can eat there, it's paved like a backyard with the pebbles embedded in concrete so you don't have to worry about getting the floor dirty. Lots of seating and the coolest spot too being lower level. Ehh: - no free parking. It's a bummer but understandable being this is downtown in a bigger city like Reno where everyone's office is located so if they had a lot or a structure for the public library it'd be expensive to maintain AND many people would likely illegally park there AND they would have to charge the patrons anyways.

I grew up with libraries from coast to coast including the New York public library. But I'm hard pressed to say this is a wee bit more impressive. Wow! Go get yourself a book!
