Brought my 4-year old puppy in for nail trimming. Admittedly he was very anxious and not happy about having his nails trimmed. All in all, it took 3 of them to handle him, they muzzled him, but got the job done. I've never had this experience at any other place. He doesn't normally have this reaction at other salons. He's very a very sensitive puppy. There were a few small dogs yapping and I think that bothered him. Also, I left a voicemail the day before to make sure they were open on Good Friday and I never received a call back. Their website indicates trims start at $7. They charged me $9 and I gave $15. Giving a 3 rating because they were just "OK". They weren't very friendly at all. How can you be grumpy when working with dogs all day?? I love having a place so close to home but will have to give it some thought before bringing my baby back. read more

Our former groomer retired, so after receiving only praise from my pet loving friends about Hot Dog Grooming, I made an appointment for my West Highland Terrier. Since this was "Presley's" first time at this shop, the groomer asked and listened intently as to any specifics I had as to how I wanted our Westy to look, and when I picked him up, I wasn't disappointed. If you care about your animal in the slightest, please do not go here and risk their health. When we came here we expected to have just our services done. We didn't have any crazy expectations for those services. We have three dogs we wanted a bath for all and two were to get haircuts, all with expressed anal glands. Typical grooming service. When we arrived, i explained that one of our dogs is undergoing training because of a bad experience she had growing up on the street caused her sever anxiety with any dog she was not integrated with. That anxiety caused her to aggressively attack them. At that moment another dog came in, they said they would put up that dog and then I could bring her in. They put it in the same room. Which was already a red flag on how they handle safety concerns but I let it go. After the service, They all looked great with haircuts and I thought I had finally found a decent groomer by our house. I was severely wrong. Unfortunately, due to their negligence, our dog had to be sent to the emergency vet a week later because she was bleeding from her butt. It started with her not eating on Saturday, she wouldn't go to the bathroom, and next thing we know we wake up to her crying Sunday morning and pooping out a decent amount of blood. So like any normal pet parent we're concerned and we immediately take her to an emergency vet because that's the only thing open. The emergency vet had to do a surgery to fix what was done by the groomer and to properly express her anal glands. Because apparently according to the vet, the amount of liquid that was expressed makes it extremely unlikely that it was done or done properly. I immediately contact these people to confirm that they did the anal glands and to see if there was any issues while doing them, the response I got was "Yes we did - Did you want to bring her in to do the annals again at no charge?" To be quite honest, this sounds like they knew that there was an issue and they didn't want to state anything. So I explained the issue and immediately they turned defensive and didn't really give two shits anymore. They wanted absolutely nothing to do with helping the situation. I asked them specifically how the service went and they said it had no noticeable issues and our dog wasn't acting in pain so it basically wasn't their fault. I've worked in the animal industry for over 22 years now and know that an anal gland doesn't just rupture for no reason. It happens due to not being expressed or not being expressed properly. This is also something that could easily be fine at the time we left and happen later on, like it did in this case. They made it very clear though that they were not mature enough to take responsibility for the very obvious issue they caused. I asked for just the amount that we paid for grooming to be refunded which was less than $200 and I was completely ignored. Considering her emergency vet bill alone was $700, this was below the least they could do. It was an insanely gracious offer after they put our dogs health through hell.It will be thousands of dollars to make sure that she goes back to 100% health and live the life that she should've been living before these people neglected their duty and disrespected the trust that we give them when we give them our animals. The fact that they couldn't even refund the service fee, that was obviously not performed to standards says a lot about the people and their characters. After digging I see that they have numerous good, short reviews which led me to try them, but if you dig deeper you see that this is a reoccurring issue with them putting other dogs's health at risk. They had one with a gashed leg, and another that suffered brain injuries from their negligence. This was my worst fear with switching groomers and under no circumstances will I be back. I would encourage anybody reading this to not go back to these people because they do not care about your dogs and they do not care about the safety. They only care about their pride and their wallets. read more

This is a great place to take your furry friend. They have appointments as early as 8am. They have always worked with our schedule and our Pup is always happy to see us. I got the oatmeal and chamomile tx for her ichy skin.. it help a bunch.. Thank you!I think she has realized that she get more attention when she gets home. Had an awesome experience at this grooming salon. They were able to take our dog Charlie the same day. They did exactly what we requested and she came out a happy girl. For $22 we were able to get her washed and dried get her paw hairs trimmed and her nails cut. They also helped by shaving off a little bit off of her belly. I think this will be her new groomer from now on. read more

They did an amazing job on my dog. He is a squirmy one when it come to grooming and this the first place not to give him bald spots. They were very detailed asking how I wanted his cut. I will definitely be a regular. My only issue was when I walked in to drop off for my appointment I was just 5 seconds behind someone that was a walk in for a nail trim. Since I had an appointment scheduled and was just dropping off I should have been helped first. Otherwise an excellent experience. read more

Took my dog here yesterday. They shaved him way too close on his belly by his private parts and on his butt. As soon as I got home he started dragging his butt and scratching. Where he got neutered and his butt look raw. I took him back into the groomer for them to look at him. They said it looks like he got bit and there's nothing they can do. Sleeping was awful. He won't walk more than 3 feet without scooting his butt and bitting. I now have to take him to the vet and pay for that. Very disappointed. read more

After trying several local groomer for my Cooper and each one was an epic FAIL we decided to try Hot Dog Grooming, best decision ever!!! After a visit to the doggie park and my boy being filthy I stopped in on the way home to set an appointment (hoping for an appointment in the next few days) they said leave him then and they'd take good care of him. They did a FANTASTIC job! My Cooper is what I call a "difficult" boy, he is not a fan of having his feet messed with. They were so patient and careful with him, made him feel more comfortable! I will NOT be searching any longer and my Cooper won't be going anywhere else! I can not recommend anywhere better! Thanks guys!!! read more
