Don't get me wrong, I love Doba, Chipotle, Moes, and other burrito places...BUT Hot Head takes the podium when it comes to burritos. Serving sizes are superior to the others while paying less. My $15-16 burrito at those places is $12 here and they have such unique sauces to add to the burrito to take it to the next level. This is the worst chipotle knock off ever, the owner has a dirty shirt and doesn't wear gloves, they will Nicole and dime every last penny ingredient. Added hot Cheetos and they put 5 crumbs in it from the end of a gun size Cheeto bag and charged a dollar. Their signs say 2 for 15 everywhere and they charged me 16. When confronted she said it should be 16. ... see the pictures. Guacamole was half a table spoon and meats came with about 2 tablespoons per meat. Loaded with rice and beans. Super Chiinsy dirty Indians who have no customers so they rip off anyone who walks in. The chicken quesodilla is rang up as a cheese and adds extra meat. I was excited to check this place out because I heard it was better than Qdoba and I love Qdoba. Sad to say I was underwhelmed by Hot Head Burritos. While I was watching my burrito being assembled, the area where the food is didn't seem very clean. My food also wasn't very hot. The taste of my burrito just seemed very bland except for the taste of cilantro which is sadly unavoidable if you want rice (I'm not a fan of cilantro). I will probably not be returning in the future and highly prefer/recommend Qdoba. I will say this, the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating! read more

Chipotle ripoffs are usually decent, but this place is absolutely awful. My rice was crunchy. Who serves crunchy rice?! Stopped at Hot Heads on our way back from St. Louis. My daughter went to USI and we loved Hot Heads. Had the burrito bowl and grabbed a chicken burrito to go. Also bought some of the delicious sweet habanero sauce. Loved stopping here when we are close. read more

My only knock with this place is that the menu has changed. Well I don't know if the menu has changed, but it's certainly impenetrable. I stared at that damn board for three minutes before I figured out that I was just going to order what I always got before things got so complicated. Isn't life like that? One day you're figuring out which hole to put the block in, and how to pull the string on your yo-yo, and the next you're trying to decipher the Rosetta Stone of menus at a burrito shop. We used to love this place but, with repeated visits with disappointing results i think we are done with this place. I really enjoy their Barbacoa. It is pretty good. When they have it. And the Quesadilla machine is mysteriously turned off or they are completely out of taco meat the last 3 times we have been there. And when my wife showed up at 9:35 to get food and read the lips of the employees. She already knew this was going to be the same disappointing visit. As she walked in most of the lights were off and they were ready to leave by 30 minutes to close. We are just sick of lackluster employees and inconsistent menu items. Done! read more

My first impression: 1.) when it was my turn I was skipped. The man glanced at me and then looked directly at my boyfriend and ask him what he wanted. 2.) in the making of my burrito there was no regular tomatoes, the only option was pico. 3.) the person who made my burrito did not know how to fold a burrito at hot head BURRITOS. 3.) my boyfriend asked for the spiciest meat, and hot sauce (which is just basic salsa) and I ordered "hot sauce" as well and I kid you not it was the least spicy sauce that I could drink it and have no problems, it was so weak. 4) my burrito was the so bland the tortilla had more flavor than the contents inside. 5) in total both the burritos combined cost roughly $20 and was the biggest waste of money for the burritos were so subpar we did not finish them. I generally eat the Sweet Habanero Chicken Bowl when I come here, but I tried the Mango Habanero Barbacoa as a Taco Meal, and it was out of this world. I really don't care for spicy food too much, but I'm glad I tried this because the flavors are well-balanced and it's really not too spicy. Had several coworkers recommend this place for a quick hit (can't all be wrong right?) but there was a HUGE air of "we don't give a damn" amongst the staff. The place was absolutely filthy...behind the counter, floors, drink station, seating area, etc. Really mediocre burrito as well, steak at been on the warmer since probably noon, out of brown rice, fajita veggies, etc. Qdoba would be a comparable experience (and would have been a better option). I have to agree with Matt W on this one....it felt like a knock off Chipotle. For 9 something $ I guess I was just expecting a little more. I would absolutly go back there was nothing bad about the experiance. Quick suggestion to the staff: discussing how you think it's stupid to be given a written warning for not smiling while helping customers and also not smiling; probably not the best look. I cannot speak for their meat options, but the beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo lacked flavor that I am used to at other Mexican restaurants. This place is literal heaven! I went there and there was this couple growing tantrum and the staff handled it amazing. Their food is outstanding and the burritos are so big. Unlike chipotle they have lots of sauces and they're all very good! My first time there they helped me figure out what I liked and were very patient and sweet. 10/10 will be going back!!! read more

A little on the expensive side for lunch. But way too much for me at one sitting. I always get a big bowl with Barbacoa meat. ( if you have had real barbacoa it does it justice.) Always my favorite. The days at this joint are numbered. I have been going to hotheads for almost two years, and ive always enjoyed it. But there is new management, and the food quality has dropped. Also, they have gotten new bowls that are about 2/3 the size of the old ones, while keeping the price the same. On top of that, the workers have likely been lectured to only give half a scoop of rice, half a scoop of beans, and a small amount of meat. So when you get a burrito, you cannot expect to be filled by it anymore. On several accounts, the cashier has messed up, which is no problem, but the manager on duty tells me they cannot do anything, and i have to pay more than intended(when taking into account deals, rewards, etc.). They do not honor the rewards earned by customers, and considering you have to buy 14 burritos in order to earn one, you would think they would be a littler more appreciative of your business in the form of honoring these rewards. To the new management, you will not get business if you force the community to pay too much for too little food. Especially when they are seeing the amount they are getting consistently decrease. You will be forced out of business and replaced with another fast food joint. read more

Okay, so while I enjoyed my meal from this restaraunt, as soon as I walked in I had this feeling of like "am I aloud to be in here?? Did I do something wrong??". One of the employees called back for some help which is pretty normal to me... well right as the employee came out I noticed her lips moving, and I thought "oops shes talking to me?" and walked in closer... nope she was mumbling under her breath "......why would you call me up here if its not even busy?". I may have some of the words wrong, but that was the context. And THEN after that we say "we are just here for our take out" as we ordered online... an employee said "we are working on your order now, you can sit down and ill bring it to you..." I then said "okay thankyou". All the mean while im just sitting there in this awkward silence as if everyone in there was inconveniencing the employees... we then receieved our for and I said "thankyou" like a polite adult, and then recieved no "youre welcome, have a nice evening." Maybe I am just asking for too much. But this was our first time going and boy was it an awkward situation, and the only reason I wont be returning. read more

Been coming here pretty much ever since they opened. Fair prices, good employees, and the food is good was well. The employees are usually easy to speak with which is preferred since there is interactions regarding your meal. Their cookies are great too, sounds crazy but I love their cookies!! read more

Should have posted this earlier, but I ate here at least a couple years ago for the last time (I used to stop by once a month, on average, as I used to live nearby). Two reasons why I won't ever eat at or recommend this place: they switched the customer frequency cards (from stickers to some digital format); I was only one sticker away from getting a free item (each sticker cost me $7-8, per visit), and I was told that my previous visits could not be transferred to the new system. Secondly, I was not supposed to be charged an extra $1 for guacamole when I ordered a vegetarian item (unfortunately, I did not notice this until I got home and looked at the receipt). I complained about these on the company's website (left my contact info), but have not heard from them in over two years, which confirms what this company thinks about paying customers. read more
