I have been to the gazing ball, cactus, and now the pumpkin glass blowing classes. Let me just say how much fun these classes are! The pumpkin is by far my favorite of my pieces. Thanks to the team at Hot Shop Glass for everything!!

This is the finished unity vase that Amanda from Hot Shop Glass created for us. We picked out the colors and gave ideas for a design!

I have to update yet again! Today we did the glass fusing studio and again, it did not disappoint. We had an instructor explain the process and how to use the tools and then she let us to our own devices. They have many samples that you can follow for your own project and they help you along the way! We made a variety of seasonal projects and found it to be so fun and relaxing! Now we wait about a week and go pick up our projects! It was pretty reasonable for what you do and I can't wait to come back again soon! Also, the fusing classes are only 6 people due to COVID and masks are required.

    Awesome setup!

Excited to write this review! Hot Shop Glass is a perfect way to spend a Saturday! This particular jaunt to Racine to experience Hot Shop was for our anniversary. This is something my wife, in particular has always wanted to do. Well we finally figured out a place to do exactly so, Hot Shop Glass in the hustling and bustling downtown area of Racine. Upon finding Hot Shop (It can be a bit tough if you don't know your way, as it's nestled off this funky one way, two way multilevel street). Street parking is the game here and just within a stone's throw there are parking meters. They hold up to 10 hours, so super cheap for a 2 hour class. Hot Shop is a tall magnificent brick building down near the river. Upon entering the workshop greets you and immediately eyes are focused on all the glass pieces, the kiln, annealer and other equipment scattered about. The space is one cool workshop and you get the immediate sense of the task that lay ahead, blowing glass! To be honest blowing glass is a loose term for what you do. It all depends on what piece you decide to make. You have the choice of one of two objects. A beautiful ornament (this is blown) or a paperweight (no blowing required). Class is $45 and totally worth every penny. Not only do you get to pick your colors and assist your instructor with 90% of the entire process, you also get to take home whatever piece it is that you created. Note: this process of receiving your piece is a two-step process that will require a return trip. The annealer takes time to cool the piece down locking it into what it is, your prize! I think you can also choose to have them mail it to you... decisions... This is a hands on class. Our instructor and all the staff were great getting our feet wet with this entire process. The Artisan we had crafting with us has been doing her work since she was 14. Amazing indeed! Since we crafted paperweights this visit we are thinking of maybe coming back and blowing the ornament next. Who knows we may even take one of the advanced classes. Either way, what a treat and what a great date day Hot Shop Glass made for us!

I attended a glass fusing and glass blowing class (two separate days). Both were absolutely amazing! Learning how to create things with glass was so interesting. This place would be great for day outing with friends, or date night.
