This was our seventh trip to Colorado but our first time visiting Ouray, and we decided to make it a kid‑free getaway--just my spouse and me. We were incredibly lucky to find this property just a few days before our trip. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the location is perfect: close enough to walk into town, yet far enough to enjoy peaceful seclusion and mountain quiet. The front desk staff were genuinely kind, helpful, and made us feel immediately welcome. We can't wait to come back and will absolutely be choosing to stay here again. While exploring downtown, we checked out a few other hotels, and it only made us even happier with our choice. This place truly stood out in every way. Such a cute, clean, and comfortable stay! You can tell the owners take pride in their Inn. High maintenance wifey here- I usually get pampered by staying at some hotels like Hyatt or Marriotts and was a little worried when my husband booked this hotel for a spontaneous trip. I even told our kids, "dad did this to be nice and spontaneous, so even if it's bad, just be grateful and act happy". I wasn't sure what to think at first, it definitely had character at first impression, but it could go either way once you get into the rooms (I mean, we've had some spontaneous hotel experiences that did not turn out so great). I was so pleasantly surprised when we got to the room- the beds were huge and SO COMFORTABLE (even the soft pillows which are hard to find in hotels)! The beds were so comfortable that I chose to turn in early because I just wanted a good night sleep in a soft, comfy bed that I could mold into. The rooms were spacious and immaculate, housekeeping and maintenance deserve a shout out because I'm PICKY and opted to shower without my shower shoes! Rooms were decorated adorably and the balcony overlooking the river was a treat! Breakfast was basic with hardboiled eggs and toast being my only personal option, but they also had sweets, Bagels, frozen burritos, cereal, etc. We would Definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend it to you High maintenance diva's is out there. read more

Looks are deceiving! Young families will enjoy the roominess in rooms. Designer shower head in shower is worthless! Low pressure. Fireplace in room for show only. Good too high beds nice decore. No comfortable side chairs just waiting room types in room. Nice deck or balcony on river. Three outdoor Hot tubs but only fit 4 adults, need cleaning, a bit cool if not used, very difficult for older folks or mobility issues to use. It would be nice to upgrade all rooms to ADA toilets! Good parking. Worthless breckfast. Friendly staff. A bit more effort this place could be top notch. Not that close to downtown shopping! read more

I won't stay anywhere else in Ouray. This is one of the few , if not only hotel on the river . While it's about a 10min walk ( vs directly in town ) I enjoyed our evening walks along the neon yellow river after our daily adventures. It has a jacuzzi you can reserve with 1hour time slots to avoid having to share it , and it has 2 onsite gas barbecues. Next time we are getting some venison or beef steaks from the meat & cheese store in town & having a bbq instead of eating out! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to pick up our free to go breakfast at 8pm the night before so we could be off to our hikes early before sunrise. This was our first trip as a married couple due to COVID, and it couldn't have been better. When we casually mention we were newly weds , they even gave us a gift bag , stating they normally reserve them for people having their anniversary there. Hot Springs Inn is a hotel sits right off Hwy 550 that gives great accommodations to those looking to stay in Ouray for a fair price. It has rooms that can sleep up to 4 people and your gear! The rooms have the kind of utility to fill up your water bottle, charge your devices, or to stretch out and relax in a cozy environment! Just about every room (that I know of) has a back patio to view the Uncompahgre River and two king size beds with plenty of extra room to spare. The hotel also comes with a complimentary breakfast and access to two outdoor hot tubs in between the buildings. Overall I love this place, it is exactly what I look for when staying at a town like Ouray, especially to ice climb! You'll like the quaintness of the place and the surprising comfort-to-value ratio. Old fashioned motel with gramma's basement vibe. Clean, if not particularly nice. 'Hike' to town along the river is also right along the road. Breakfast was cereal and milk and a mini donut. Close to hot springs with two king beds in every room - so probably good for families. read more

Staff was incredibly friendly and basically welcomed us with open arms. We were also given plenty of ideas for family activities and places to eat. Rooms were very clean and each room has a patio with views of the creek. The hot springs are a quick 3 minute walk away as well. Breakfast is included and many items are available to choose from especially since we're in pandemic times. Took us three days of searching to finally find an open reservation for any rooms in Ouray, but we would return to this place with no hesitation. read more

I cannot believe the good reviews, this place is a dump. Carpets were filthy, and the room smelled badly. pretty view of the river but the sounds of water were masked by the loud air conditioning units on either side of you while sitting on the deck. Amenties in the room were old and cheap. Breakfast was sub-par. seems to attract bikers as there were many revving their motors at 7am while getting ready to leave. only nice thing was walking distance to pool and town. read more

What an absolute gem!! Location was so cool, right off the river and room with river front views. The room itself was big and clean with such a comfy bed! Funky decor made it unique. Wendy at the front desk was very friendly and warm. She gave us tips on places to eat and check out, and calmed my fears about bears a bit. We were able to do our laundry which was such a bonus after camping for a few nights. it was also within walking distance of the main downtown area. This will definitely be my go to stay while in Ouray. read more

Let me set up the situation ... I love Ouray with all my heart. My family camped here once a year when I was growing up, and I was so happy to be taking my boyfriend here on a long weekend. I opted not to camp as we had a lot of adventures and booked another hotel more in town based on good reviews. It was an awful hotel filled with the HARDEST beds and ticks crawling in the bed. After two nights (and the discovery of the ticks), we discussed changing hotels. During that discussion (and while I was getting ready for the day), I ended up chemically burning my right eye. My boyfriend had to deal with me being high maintenance while also trying to enjoy his first time jeepin' on the passes, which did not go over well. We accepted defeat and used the rented jeep to drive between all the towns looking for eye drops and eye washes. During this process, while still debating changing hotels, our rented jeep got a flat. While he was dealing with all of this, I finally go 'I refuse to go back to our hotel, pick a new one.' He picked this place and I couldn't be happier. He had a small talk with the front desk to explain our situation and couldn't stop talking about how helpful the lady was. They let us try out the bed before booking, which was HUGE to two individuals that had had no sleep in two days and one of those individuals nursing an injured eye ball. The downside of being a little out of town is made up by the amazing views from the rooms (all with their own balcony), the two king-size beds with what seems like pillow tops, and king-size pillows with amazing support. If I am not camping, I am staying here from now on. P.S. I wish their wifi was a little bit better, but I ended up spending most of my time in the room sleeping. In future stays, I could see that being annoying. read more

After driving most of the day we opted to stop in and check for availability since the reviews looked good. Our stay was great. Several reviews mention that the Front Desk folks are friendly and helpful. They were. There was a nice breakfast included....lots of carbs and processed foods, but I was happy to see yogurt and fresh fruit. All the rooms overlook the river, which was rushing when we were there in early June. We had a 2nd floor room and slept with all the windows open so we could hear the river. This place have just about everything a visitor could need for a one night stay or a longer stay...clean and cozy hot tubs, some grills, tables outside, a swing, trails down the river, etc. There was also a door to a laundry area near the front desk. Spent 6 nights here recently. Found the 6th night free promotion on their website - great bonus! COMFORTABLE king size beds, nice shower head, quiet area, hot tubs, discounted hot springs tickets, clean, river views --- all great! The only downsides I noted were the mediocre wifi which is really bad when guests are in their rooms for the night. No problems using it during the day when there weren't many guests. The decor is a little cheesy and the breakfast is basically prepackaged muffins. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone looking for Ouray lodging. read more

Love this Hotel!! You won't get a better or closer view of the amazing river than Hot Springs Inn!! The hotel boasts 2 king size beds in the room with loads of pillows and blankets. The beds are comfy and clean! The scenery is pleasant and just what one wants in a mountain town. The breakfast is continental but there is always an ample amount available. Coffee is hot in the morning. There are 2 spa's available to relax in. Laundry machines available too. So if you are in the market to hiking, trail riding, or sight seeing, you HAVE to make the Hot Springs Inn your place to stay! There really isn't one bad thing I would say about this place! It may look quaint, but it will deliver a perfect nights sleep, an amazing stay, and bountiful amount of rest!! We won't stay at another hotel in Ouray!! Fantastic location and rooms. Extremely clean and updated rooms. The two large king beds are very comfortable. A large counter area and fireplace in the room. The room opens onto a deck overlooking the Oak Creek walking trail and Uncompahgre River. The trail leads straight to the hot springs and downtown. This place is AMAZING! Would've stayed here all four days of my vacation if I could have. The rooms are huge, the beds are very comfortable, the views are amazing, and the staff are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have met in the business. My favorite parts were the hummingbirds that you heard and saw almost constantly, and the balconies over looking the Uncompahgre River in every room. The jacuzzi's were also very nice, and great after a long day of hiking. The weekday rate for this Inn is more than worth it! If I could give Hot Springs Inn more stars I would! We decided to go somewhere for Christmas. We called Hot Springs Inn. We spoke with Rob who was super nice and helped us book our room. When we arrived on our trip we had a great check in, the lobby was nicely decorated and there were treats and the tv was on with a football game on and a fire going. We were treated so well and shown our room. The room was clean and had a great view! The fire was going in the room and it was cozy and exactly what we were hoping for. Our stay was for five days and we decided to stay longer. We love the hotel and we will back for sure! In fact we decided to stay a couple days longer! This is a hidden gem! I hope I am not giving too much away about how great this place is, for us in the futures! Go check this place out! There is not a bad view on the property. I can't say enough about how nice the folks were at the Hot Springs Inn. They made sure we enjoyed our stay, which was easy considering the Texas-sized room and the almost-Texas flag and Yellow Roses on the wall. You don't have to be a Texan to stay here, but if you are, you won't be treated like a "Texas Turkey." The clean, spacious rooms have 2 king sized beds with wonderful mattresses, a large flat-screen TV, a ceiling fan that really blows air, and a romantic faux fireplace that my wife really liked. The river view from our private back porch (top left and right) was breath-taking. They suggest leaving your window open to hear the river, but we never did. This is one of the few motels where the designer had the sense to put the sink outside the commode/shower area, preventing the mirror from being steamed over and cutting our dressing time in half. Noteworthy: The streets in Ouray are a rock & dirt combination which the locals call "paved;" we called it "dirty." Hot Springs Inn is on the only paved street in town -- US 550 -- and they have an asphalt parking lot. Tell them the Awesome Webmaster sent you. Since this is the only place I've stayed in Ouray, take this with a grain of salt, but I loved it. Very comfortable, clean rooms. Two king beds in each. Some interesting decorating (think a cowboy boot with fake flowers stuck inside, all surrounded by a lasso), but it's fun. We got in at 1am from Colorado Springs, so had no idea what kind of scenery was surrounding us on all sides. So when we woke up to the sound of a river literally right below our window, and to some of the most beautiful mountains I've seen in Colorado, life was pretty good. I really feel that Ouray is as close to Shangri-La as you can get, or as close as I've ever been, in the continental United States, and this was a great, cozy place to stay. read more

Do not stay here! I selected a dog friendly room through hotels.com. We pulled up to see that the other clientele had us questioning our choice. We hiked all day, grabbed pizza for dinner and then arrived to check in behind a man named Dale that took forever between going to his car to search for cash, asking many questions about where to get steak etc. I waited patiently while really having to the bathroom and hoping my pizza would still be semi-warm. The front desk man felt bad for my long wait and tried to check me in as quickly as possible. There was a bunch of dusty decor in the room and the free breakfast was some packaged pastries, but still fair enough. However, a few hours later the front desk man called screaming at me so loud, my husband could hear it although it wasn't on speaker and we were sitting outside across from each other at a windy table. Rob was yelling that we weren't in an animal friendly room and that there were signs all over saying that (not true, there weren't any), and that he was charging my card $200. I calmly stated that my husband is a disabled Afghanistan veteran, we have a service animal, but we still always select dog friendly hotels and rooms in addition. Rob then screamed that we were trying to "ruin his business and we're blacklisted." Our dog had left no trace, it was just that a cleaning lady had seen us leaving. Although we shouldn't be charged one, I would have gladly paid a pet fee, instead Rob charged my card an additional $200, screamed that we were "blacklisted," that I was "talking in circles" and hung up on me. I am a flight attendant that travels often, staying in dozens of hotels per month and I have never had anything close to this poor of customer service from a hotel. I am sure if he lost his cool this quickly with me (speaking calmly to him), it happens often. Don't waste your money and/or risk the hassle of fraudulent charges! read more

Second year in a row I've stayed here. I doubt I will ever stay at a different hotel when I come to Ouray. The staff is simply the best. The rooms are clean and large. Every room has two King size beds and still room next to them for sitting, changing, or whatever. Each room has a small patio out back which overlooks the river running about 20-30 feet from the back patio. There are hot tubs and a nice little riverwalk, as well. And the views from here are absolutely spectacular! Just a short distance from the hot springs which I recommend if you have kids. I can't speak highly enough of this place. read more

We LOVED this hotel. We are on a road trip for 2 weeks and this was our favorite place we stayed. The room is adorable, clean, and you can't beat the river being right outside the balcony. The bed was so comfy and the shower was even awesome with its huge waterfall shower head! Ppl are very friendly. Only complaint was that the wifi was virtually non existent. But you don't need it anyway! STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! Oh, and by the way, go visit the Box Canyon Falls. It is breathtaking. read more

My experiences with small hotels in tiny towns in Colorado have been very positive, and the Hot Springs Inn continued this trend. The Front Desk people are SUPER friendly and helpful. They greeted us sincerely when we arrived in the mid-afternoon, and the same people were there in the mornings overseeing breakfast and checking guests out. They had great suggestions about stuff in town and I always appreciate that. Our room had 2 Kings and was MUCH nicer and larger than I expected, a pleasant surprise! Air conditioning unit, windows that actually opened, spacious patio with a riverfront view. The bathroom lacked a tub, but it was very clean with newer tiles on the floor, an overhead heating lamp, and nice shower with great water pressure. No measly, ratty towel to dry your feet - a REAL white rug lay outside the shower. Roomy granite countertop in the sink area. A cool-looking, non-standard ceiling fan. Large, old school TV that took up lots of depth, and there is no desk or sofa, but two leather office-type chairs. However, the spotless, stainless steel mini-fridge and neat little microwave more than made up for that, especially considering the abundant drawer space and the large electric fireplace! Lots of character throughout the room with its Texas-themed décor. I loved the sheets, but the beds themselves were a bit lumpy. Overall, we felt very comfortable and safe. The paved parking lot is a bit cramped when there's no vacancy, and they allot only one spot per room in the high season. They have 3 hot tubs, and the riverwalk is just outside the buildings. Hot Springs Inn is about a half-mile walk to the main part of Town, but it is VERY close to the actual hot springs and ball park. This place is NOT smoker nor pet-friendly. Continental breakfast of cereals, oatmeals, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, Eggos, yogurt, apples, juice, coffees, and teas are offered in the dining area that is outfitted with plenty of seating and 2 flat-screen TVs. It was a good value and we'd totally stay here again! read more

The employees will take care of you and are kind. The property is clean and the rooms are large. Will stay here again when we visit for sure. We had to leave last minute because our daughter became ill and they refunded our last night there without question. It was prepaid and short notice so we didn't expect it but were very appreciative.
