One associate was going on and on the customer about how and where she could use her new credit card and the other disappeared into the back. Neither could smile, say hello and perhaps apologize for the wait and that they'd be with me shortly. That's all; I wasn't expecting much but they set a new LOW bar. I finally had to leave to teach a class and just dropped my merchandise on the counter and left. No reaction. Loft: people have choices. Brick and mortar retail is suffering. Customers don't need to.
