The JVM is in good condition, with it looking fully renovated and modernized, but the lack of stores here is a bummer. It's been a long while since I've returned, with research and observing, Sears closing was a big blow along with other big brand stores such as Hollister, FYE, GameStop (surprising), etc. A recent addition to the mall was the opening of Dick's Sporting Goods (2016), Orange theory Fitness (2018), 24 hour Fitness (2020), and a restaurant called Flame Asian Bistro (2020). In the food court, there are only TWO spaces open - hard to believe. I didn't see any opening for other food spaces. Despite it being a weekday, this mall could soon become a deadmall. If anyone is a mall walker or enjoys the history (like me), it's a great way of killing time and remembering old stores. One thing I really enjoyed was seeing old pictures of the JVM hung on the wall along with quotes from resistant's to visited, mainly Yorktown. What a great idea JVM did. If South Hills stepped in the same boat, I'd be very impressed and other malls should step in with this idea.

We've been to the Jefferson Valley Mall a couple of times, and apparently according to my boyfriend, the mall has improved significantly from when he was growing up. Simon Malls now owns it, and they are bringing in a higher end flair to the building, making sure that the mall, while humbler than some of the others I've been to, is clean and as modern as they can make it. The store selection is quite limited, but some of the stores such as Hot Topic and Hollister (I know, I love two stores that are literally the polar opposite of each other), have fantastic folks working here who really care about the customers and provided the best shopping experiences I've ever had at any of the stores in these chains. And I have been to many! Simon is bringing in more stores like Forever 21 and Victoria's Secret PINK to draw in a younger and vibrant crowd, and hopefully that will continue as they improve on the mall. Now if we can only convince them to get a Primark...

I love this mall, it's almost never crowded, people are nice, it's clean, and super close to home. I can think of a few stores that I would like to see there but hey, nothing's perfect. By the way, beware: the 'dollar store', which is on the first floor, is not really a dollar store. So I rarely go there and stick with real dollar stores. This weekend, 3/14/20, I went in to get hand sanitizer, could not find it. I ask the guy, who's at the register, and he turns around, reaches into a box, and pulls out a 2 oz bottle and says 1.99. Clearly, they're price gouging and I will be reporting them today.

Raquette, Liar and ladies who got mad and kick me because I got her name for a complaint. And somehow I was harassing her, which by the way. She Came up too me first. With a store policy. Muba, the security guard or manager who told me to "get the fuck out of my store". Because I took pictures of him. By the way, he removed his name tagged and lied to my wife. On video everything was O.K. Matt, who tried to make me sign a form saying I was trespass. And the trooper, who while respectful. We're not there to help because Walmart called them. So Walmart employees basically lied to me. Changed policy on me, lied to my wife. And basically told me that I bring 13 kids to buy "Needuh". By the way, I only have 4 kids. And one of them is fully grown. A 17 year old with autism, that like the squishy toy. buys them with his own money, and funny enough, has already broken them. Two twins, where one was scared trying to tell the officer while we were kick out that, the man said we can stay. As I sadly told my son, the trooper are not here to help us. So lets give it up to Walmart, changes there policies. Not wanting kids to buy things at there store. And think they understand kids with autism because they have a niece or nephew like that. Yet are not the parent of a child like that most of the time. Let thank them for lying to use. And get mad because I told them I was going to make a corporate compliant. I had already went to customer service and made them aware I wanted to speak to the manager. And somehow there was no manager to talk to ever. Funny part, while talking to Walmart Corporate line. The said there wasn't a policy like that. So someone is lying but who. Thats know a one per family policy. That's fine, not mad at the rules if it was one per family. I put the other butter back. Angry that you included my kids, came up to me instead first. Items, that people bought a few already, are just one per family. Because you basically termed them as Pokémon scalpers. Something I don't buy there at all. I'm angry that you Lie, change polices, just because I asked a questions. They didn't like my kids I guess. And get mad because I complaint about them. And there manager, Carmen. Which I was told before hand she would not help me. Buy the staff, then Hide. After I was kick out, my wife literally spoke to Muba again, while I was on the phone with Walmart Ethic, who I know will never help. and he said he didn't know what was going on, and we were ok. So after I spoke to Walmarts Customer service line. Since they said we were ok, I ask again to speak with carmen for clarity. She came to me and said give me a minute. To wait here. Only to stall for the cops to come. Btw, like I said, thank for making my son freak out. And Matt, who wanted me to sign a form saying I was trespassing. I believe now, that all in my heart. Walmart is not a friendly company! Never has been. But, I don't think they're autistic friendly. But, it's ok! You can keep your needuhs, and your beyblades. You don't need there money, or people like us. Since you want to say, I bring 13 kids to the Walmart, just to buyout all your needuhs. I will post more. I have nothing to lose. But you included my kids. So I don't care.

Unfortunately for me, the new place is 25 miles further north at the Jefferson Valley Mall. This is as far as you can go in Westchester county because Putnam county is just across the street. Like most malls across the country, JVM is not doing great, with not a lot of tenants or customers and it just seems to be barely hanging on. At least their anchor store, Macy's hasn't bailed yet. I'm hardly ever up this way, but when I am, I'll stop in at WTH to see any new stuff (and to see the old stuff). The new store has almost as big a footprint as the Galleria store, but way bigger than the previous White Plains mall one, which got the wrecking ball also (I'm not sure if that's a good omen). Everything was moved here, every plane, train & automobile (literally) and even Barbie (but no Oppenheimer). John told me he has big plans for the new store and to check back for new inventory soon. Each aisle has a hobby specialty. The biggest proportion is in the back where all the model trains reside. Glass cabinets are filled with vintage Lionel trains and other well known brands. The Hot Wheels collection made it over, as well as the Barbie and Hess truck collections. But my main hobby focus are model airplanes and ships and their collection of old kits is pretty impressive. They get new old kits all the time by buying up old collections and reselling. This trip, I got (3) 70's-80's nostalgic plastic airplane kits that I've had or wanted since I was a kid. I could wander the aisles here all day and they would have to kick me out. Maybe I'll go back after I grab some lunch at the food court...
