If you're someone who believes New York Italian, Latin, pizza, and Chinese food set the gold standard, then you know how hard it can be to find that same level of flavor outside the city. Living in Florida often means adjusting expectations--until you discover Hot Wok. Hot Wok is the rare exception. From the moment you walk in, the food tastes, smells, and feels like Mott Street in Manhattan. The vegetables are fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning is unmistakably New York-style: bold, perfectly balanced, never overpowering, and never overly salty--just right. The hot and sour soup is outstanding, rich and comforting, and the Singapore Mei Fun rivals the quality you'd expect from legendary spots like Woo Hop. Every dish shows care, skill, and authenticity. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting, and the owners are warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They're from NYC--and it shows. They know exactly what they're doing. Prices are excellent, portions are generous, and the value is unbeatable. While the location isn't right on a main road, it's absolutely worth using GPS--two minutes later, you're stepping into New York City-level Chinese food heaven If you appreciate great food, expert preparation, and incredible value, Hot Wok isn't just recommended--it's necessary.

The food was delicious! The food portion size was huge and it was pretty good! When we walked in, half of the store was dark, which made it feel like it was closed. The service was not the friendliest, but the taste of the food made up for it. :)

It's hard to find great Chinese food in this area but Hot Wok nailed it!! Their food treated just like NY Chinese take out food. Great job!

Food is good and hot. Wonderful staff. If I am in the mood for Chinese this is the only place I will go to in the area.

For those of you who follow my reviews, as a chef, you know that eating at a buffet, especially a…read moreChinese food buffet is not something I look forward to. However, Chinese buffets is my wife's sweet spot and so here we are at Mikata. Atmosphere: if you have ever been to a Chinese buffet, you know the look... functionally efficient cafeteria. Definitely not a mood environment. As with all buffets, it had tons of people moving through the lines to gather as much food as they could. Service: As with the atmosphere, it was functionally efficient. Although I must admit, our server did talk with us and had a great smile. Food: Ah the food. I never like buffets because the food is usually underdone when it first comes out and becomes overdone as it sits and waits to be picked on. However, even though I don't like Chinese buffets, because I visit them often (for my lovely bride) I've become quite experienced of the genre. And if you compare the Mikata buffet with other buffet' s, I must say, this one is as good as it gets. The crab Rangoon was small but amply filled with cheese. The ribs were juicy, and the peel and eat shrimp were top notch. As a bonus, they even offered asparagus instead of the usual broccoli or green beans. My favorite offering was the roasted duck. It was juicy without being fatty, absolutely the best I've had in a Chinese buffet. Even the ice cream tasted better than most. Price: Here is the best thing about Mikata. Where else can you get an all you can eat dinner for $17.00 per person! Even McDonalds will cost you more than that! The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" is would I come back? Knowing my wife's proclivity towards Chinese buffets, you can bet on it. However, because of the price and quality, she won't hear my usual complaints.

The food is mediocre, the sushi lacks variety, and to be honest, it's not even that fresh. The staff isn't remarkable either. I went there with my family for my birthday, hoping to enjoy a nice sushi dinner, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The place is messy and not very clean, and the staff isn't friendly at all. Do yourself a favor--don't go!

The service was wonderful and attentive from start to finish. You can tell they care about their customers. The pho was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of heat--super comforting and satisfying. The fried rice was cooked to perfection, not greasy, and full of flavor. Didn't get a chance to take pictures, but everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

Customer service was great! The workers were so nice and friendly. The restaurant inside was also clean (but also completely empty). Tom Yum Chicken Soup: lackluster in flavor with raw vegetables. Tom yum soup is one of my favorite asian soups because of the rich bold tangy flavors mixed with plenty vegetables. This soup however was very far from that. Fried Rice with Chicken: very bland and nothing too exceptional. With additional salt and pepper sauce the rice wasn't too bad. The tomatoes also did not seem fresh. Chicken Lo Mein: in my husband's words, "lacking". Again with some additional seasoning it wasn't terrible.
