Opulence! Decadence! Somewhat limited space! This hotel straight up rules, it rules harder than Mussolini. (Too soon?) For starters, it's a short stagger from the bus, train and ferry station at the main entry point into Venice. Much convenient! As with everywhere in this city, space is at a premium, but Arlecchino handles the problem beautifully. There are chandeliers, mirrored cupboards, marble, gold furnishings. It's total class, a top bit of totty. There's free wi-fi, the concierges are mega helpful, and the small bald fellow that organises the (included) breakfasts every morning takes more pride in his work than any human being I've ever seen, he's a total hellman. And the brekky is all time, too - pastries and cereals and juices and coffees and cold cuts and cheese and fruit and look just go see for yourself. Oh and big bathrooms! They went hard on the bathrooms. Wonderful stuff.

Never being to Europe before, I was faced with choosing a hotel in Venice for our one night stay on November 1. Since we were only there for a night we decided to splurge a bit and get a room with a canal view. Most of these rooms are pretty pricey but since Hotel Arlecchino isn't in the center of everything it was a bit cheaper ($175 USD), breakfast included but we decided to sleep in and skip breakfast. We got there by train, the train station is in town which was very convenient. If you have luggage take a water taxi or ferry to the hotel, if you have no bags its a short walk to the hotel. Good, quiet, safe location on the canal. With plenty of restaurants just steps away. All the shopping, restaurants, and attractions are with in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and spoke English very well. The room keys weigh a lot and are huge and clunky, so the staff will hold it for you whenever you come and go. The hotel had a quaint Venice feel without looking old. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big too, the only strange thing was the tub/shower had no shower curtain or door, so water splashed all over the place. We had two large windows that open up to beautiful view of the canal. Bonus... Italian beer in the mini bar, yum! I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone planning to visit Venice.

I was in Italy for 2 weeks and this was the absolute best hotel we stayed at throughout our trip. Check-in was extremely easy and our luggage was taken to our room. The best part was we were allowed to leave our luggage after our check-out since our train didn't leave until a few hours later. The front desk staff was extremely helpful in helping us book a trolley to take our luggage to the train station even though we had technically checked out hours prior.

Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

I stayed here a number of years ago for a weekend in February, right at the beginning of Carnival…read more I coordinated a weekend with a lovely woman I was seeing - see had meetings in Milan and I was going to Munich after this. At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.
