This place is a beautiful hotel with a restaurant that has been recognized with a Michelin star in 2024. Most of the staff is extremely helpful. Especially, Aria the House Manager, Julian the Concierge and Marina our waitress. They were outstanding! This was a fancy and quaint stay. The food was exceptional. Especially the breakfast. They stock your room with extra cold water to keep you hydrated. The minibar is included and restocked daily. The rooftop pool has exceptional views. The air conditioning in the room is phenomenal. The bedding was lush and cozy. The pillows were like air. The room has been sound proofed and the shutters black the room out. The only downside I could find... very little luggage/clothing storage. Absolutely recommend this gem. We met a couple that checked out and went to airport for travel to Mallorca. Got to airport and their flight was canceled. Not knowing what to do, they returned to the Wittmore. Unfortunately, they were fully booked. The concierge, started making calls to help them with lodging. Even when it was raining and a late hour in the evening, they found accommodations on a private boat that would transport them to Mallorca. Outstanding customer service.

The Wittmore could of written the book on running a successful Boutique Hotel. The soft, warm, romantic low lit lighting from the front entrance to the guest rooms, a lounge area and bar that is part library like you are sitting in your own living room with a beautiful fireplace with a drink, bottle of wine, or cup of coffee in the morning. This Hotel has so much CHARM. We had a recommendation to book this hotel right in the center of the Gothic Quarter, walking distance to Las Ramblas, El Born and even uptown to the upper end stores. It took only a half hour to even get to the harbor area and waking further, 40 minutes to the beach area. All the staff here, was TOP NOTCH, friendly and helpful, with knowledge of great eating places, museums and all the sites. They were not afraid to override a place that had been recommended to us and tell us of something better, like they knew what we always wanted. So much credit to Luigi, Gabriel and Guillem and all the others that treated us like family. We absolutely would not have had a better trip than if we had not gotten the recommendations and constant directions to eventually get to know Barcelona like we did. In fact, funny thing, we always looked forward to coming back to see them and greet each other. This is not a big lobby, but boutique and small, and when you walk in they are there waiting. Incredible. The rooms are warm, cozy and laid out perfectly. There were windows built into doors with drapes that opened up to overlook the courtyard next to the lounge as we looked down, with a wall of vines on the left from top to bottom that gave us that garden feeling. There were about 4 double doors that we could completely or partially open to the garden and lounge area downstairs. At night the doors were open to let the fresh are of Barcelona cool the room. A separate couch area, roomy bathroom and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Stocked refrigerator, even with fresh lemon and lime and a cutting board. The service and cleaning of the rooms were consistently kept up with a whole lot of extras. My wife and I got a nice piece of chocolate every night, a couple nights fresh fruit and always fresh bottles of water at each of our bedside tables. Getting to the front the entrance of the hotel was a little tricky because this IS a boutique hotel hidden in the narrow streets of The Old City. A cab had limited room to drive right to the entrance, but leave it to the hotel staff, they would walk us to the corner or get the cab driver to come in the lobby and get us. The restaurant, amazing, beautiful and so cozy. We ate breakfast there the first morning. Everything was fresh, eggs, bacon, salmon and avocado. Delicious. And such friendly professional service. One night we enjoyed the rest of our wine we brought back in the lounge area in front of the fire, then went up to the room. I can not mention enough how crucial The Wittmore was to the success of our trip. We learned the city faster, ate at great recommended places or ones they confirmed to us we picked the right place. The Wittmore had so much to do with us falling in love with Barcelona. Thanks again to Luigi for setting us up. See you all again for sure.

    Every room faces the garden!

Opened in 2016, only 22 rooms, no smoking tucked away "inside the wall". After you get dropped off by your cab, you need to walk about one block down the narrow street to the hotel. Everything about this place is first class. Fantastic rooms, both quaint and stylish. Let's just say you get what you pay for. We used our Chase points for the room (so you have another option if you don't want to pay cash). In fact, we used our points for the room/breakfast package. As a side note, the meals were excellent. We had drinks in the library and also on the roof (beautiful views!). In addition to awesome accommodations, the entire staff was friendly, informative and helpful. For all the cities we visited in Spain, this by far was our favorite hotel.

We stayed at the Wittmore on the 1st part of our time in Barcelona. We wanted to stay in Old City as it's more centrally located and convenient for the places we want to see. It's a small boutique 5 Star hotel that is only 2 years old. There are pros and cons. Pros: - centrally located and convenient location in Old City - new, boutique hotel with excellent service and attentive staff Cons: - the hotel is very dark. I know this is the look they're going for, but it's so dark in our room that it's hard to do or see anything even with all the lights on - small room - location is a bit hard to find. Have to tell the taxi to drop us off in front of the main post office, then we walk to the hotel which is located at the end of an alleyway. For me, the biggest factor that is kinda a dealbreaker for us and prevents us for staying here again is how dark the hotel is. It's almost too gloomy and morose. For that reason, I can't really recommend this place.

Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

It's a great central spot for sightseeing where you're primarily relying on public transit, but also quiet and safe if traveling solo. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

I had thought having our hotel in this area would have been a mistake, knowing about the pickpocketing and protests from locals regarding tourists. Yet I found it so convenient to many attractions within walking distance, just a block away from the metro station, souvenirs in the shops, with late night spots if you're hungry, and being close to a few markets. The room was spacious and modern. We slept well in their comfortable king bed. We were given slippers and a bathrobe along with the typical amenities like hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was even a bathroom scale! Something I rarely see in hotel rooms these days. Our package deal included breakfast at their daily buffet. And it's one of the better buffets that actually has a made-to-order-eggs table. I love that there's a personal chef for those who like their eggs a certain way. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.
