Just a short 15-17 minute stroll from the bustling central square, this boutique gem feels like a little slice of heaven. Each floor has its own unique charm, with the enchanting scent of Ortiga Nico D'India wafting through the air and a fresh, cool art motif that delights at every turn. The front desk team--Michele, Antoni, Ulga, and the whole crew--goes above and beyond, making sure every moment of your stay is seamless and wonderful. The hotel's restaurant, led by the amazing Anna Lisa and the charming Francesco, is pure magic. Their service shines bright, filled with great conversation, spot-on recommendations, and even treasured traditional family recipes! I'm already dreaming of that Caprese cake and the unforgettable orange and lemon zest jams. Our double superior suite...just stunning! With a balcony and a view so beautiful I wish I could bottle it and take it home! The shower was pure bliss, and those gorgeous tile floors? Absolutely perfect. Our recent stay at the Hotel Belair in Sorrento was, without a doubt, the pinnacle of our 20th-anniversary celebration trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of genuine warmth and unparalleled service that truly set this 5-star establishment in a league of its own. And the views? Absolutely breathtaking - every glance out of our window or from the stunning common areas was a postcard moment. The heart and soul of our exceptional experience was the incredible Hotel Manager, Graziana. Though we only met her once upon arrival, her presence was felt throughout our stay as she masterfully orchestrated an unforgettable experience for us. She was the epitome of helpful and accommodating, anticipating our every need with an uncanny intuition. Graziana provided invaluable recommendations, guiding us on how to best utilize our limited time and navigate the area like locals, considering logistics and our lack of local knowledge. She even got us the room upgrade I requested for the last minute! My special request for a bouquet of flowers and fresh Sorrento lemons for my wife to celebrate our anniversary was executed flawlessly, creating a truly magical moment. And on our final morning, knowing we had an early departure, Graziana had arranged for a delicious breakfast to-go - a thoughtful gesture that was so appreciated. Working diligently behind the scenes with Graziana was the ever-charming Antonino. He was a constant friendly face, always incredibly helpful, welcoming, and looking remarkably dapper, especially with his stylish blue suede loafers! Antonino played a key role in coordinating all the wonderful touches that made our stay so special. Beyond the exceptional individuals, the Hotel Belair itself is a jewel. It's undeniably beautiful and fancy, yet it exudes a comforting, home-like ambiance that allowed us to relax completely. The entire property was exceptionally clean, a testament to their high standards. The service across the board was simply phenomenal. While no hotel is perfect, the dedicated staff at Hotel Belair made it feel perfect. Need something? A quick call and it was promptly delivered (Thank you Olga for the fan). It was the thoughtful little things that truly resonated: the custom card delivered each evening with the next day's weather forecast, or the almost magical moment when staff noticed us taking a brief cover from a light rain by the entrance and appeared with umbrellas, without us even uttering a word (we still don't know how they saw us!). The hotel restaurant manager Francesco was wonderfully nice and hospitable, contributing to an incredible overall dining experience. Even the bartender by the pool Luca elevated our relaxation, proactively bringing us delightful beverages as we were just settling in to chill by the poolside. You might think, "Well, this is what 5-star hotel staff are supposed to do; it's their job." But I can assure you, having stayed in other luxury hotels, the service at Hotel Belair is on an entirely different plane of existence. This is a masterclass in hospitality, and other brands should take notes. Frankly, it's almost embarrassing how other hotels operate when you compare them to the Belair standard. Luxury. Beautiful rooms. Unmatched view. Delicious breakfast and great staff. Be prepared to walk! This is not in town, but up on the hill. It is certainly walkable several times per day, but it's not as close as you'd think. The resort feel outside of town is a small price to pay for the resort feel. read more

This hotel is beyond what my fiancée and I had imagined when we were booking a room. It offers the best view of the Sorrento Coast; except for maybe Capri. The atmosphere and scenery is breathtaking, so much that I even proposed on the balcony. We only spent 2 nights here and we left wanting more. The hotel itself is old and could use remodeling. That being said, they have a quality maintenance team that care for the hotel like a curator would for an art gallery. The cleaning staff are great too. We would come back to a clean room every time we left. The free breakfast is much better than most, with meats, cheeses, breads, sweets and much more. To top this all off the courtesy and demeanor of the entire staff was impeccable and they wanted to please us every moment of our stay. The city's main section is a short walk down a narrow road. It's much of what a resort town feels like without the nearby resort that brings in rude guests. This is also a great base to set off for tours of the Amalfi Coast and Capri. We're still touring Italy, but this will probably be the highlight of our vacation. read more

We notified the hotel of a family emergency (with proof) DAYS after submitting our final payment: no flexibility whatsoever. They even requested we remove our initial review (see photo) and said we shouldn't have time to write reviews during a family emergency- they must not know about hospital waiting rooms. We just returned from a week in Italy including 3 nights at this great hotel built right into the cliffs in Sorrento. As such, the the views were out of this world from wherever you were in the hotel. All of the staff were great and so was the breakfast. We never went for dinner here and it didn't look like many other people did either - understandable when there were so many great restaurants nearby. Its definitely an older, retirement age crowd which also meant the bar scene wasn't great, especially after 10pm but its only 10 minutes into the town which was much more lively. Aside from the unbeatable views the rooms were also quite nice, a little basic and it was annoying that there were no toiletries provided, not even shampoo or shower gel which in my experience is unheard of these days! The Wi_Fi was also terrible but we soon learned this is a fault of Italy rather than any hotel in particular as it was the case everywhere. I do recommend this hotel and Sorrento in general as a base for an Amalfi Coast holiday, however we wished we had spent at least one night in Positano, Praiano, Amalfi or Ravello in order to enjoy the sunset which is blocked out by the cliffs in Sorrento. My other big tip: get a driver, don't rent a car - that way you can drink, enjoy the views, not worry about the (nightmare) parking in every town and be safe (the roads are insanely tight with lots of corners!). read more

Great views, but probably wouldn't stay again due to uncomfortable bed, dated nature of rooms/property, and distance from city center. The lengthy complimentary happy hour with heavy appetizers each day is a wonderful way to meet and chat with other guests and the views from the hotel can't be beat. The property is high on a cliff just outside the city. Our room, and it looks like probably all the rooms, had small patios overlooking the ocean and city of Sorrento. However, the property is very dated, as are the rooms. The lobby is a mix of pale greens and pinks, and looks something like a 1950s stuffy grandmother's living room. Might be just what some people are looking for, but we prefer something a little more updated, even if it's an updated yet traditional/classic style of decor. The beds were not the most comfortable, but livable. Thin doors/walls and you can very distinctly hear guests in the halls. The view makes the place. It's walkable to town (15-20min) downhill along a busy road with a very narrow sidewalk. One issue: we asked this hotel to book us with a specific professional driver and provided the name/company/number. They said they did, charged us the same price, then stuck us with their probably uninsured possibly friend in a old car when it was too late to cancel. This caused complications paying our prior driver for the first leg of the trip (we were supposed to pay in person at the end of the return trip), which we were stuck resolving on our own once we realized what happened. Great hotel with a great location & great staff! As you've read in some of the other reviews, there are a few pitfalls, the main one being the thin walls. There are a few reviews mentioning 'no toiletries being provided' but this was not the case for us. The only thing missing from the room was the tea kettle which was remedied with a quick phone call to the reception desk. Within minutes someone was at our door with 2 bottles of water and a kettle. He even offered to come in and set it up for us and warm up the water, but we told him we could manage. Lol. AMAZING view from the balcony in the room & from all the common balconies available to all guests (dining terrace, pool, etc..) The staff is very polite and attentive. They gave us a tour of the entire hotel and amenities & offered us some refreshments (Prosecco) while we waited for the room to be available. There is a private staircase leading down to the marina which houses our favorite restaurant in Sorrento (Bagni Delfino) This is great shortcut & very convenient since a taxi ride down the hill can cost anywhere between 15-25euros depending on the time of day. Take the staircase at the pool level all the way down to the shore. First restaurant on the left ;) My wife and I were very pleased with our stay & will be returning to this hotel every time we visit Sorrento. read more

We were very picky in choosing our hotel in Sorrento. We wanted something nice, with a great view and easy accessible to the town. We found it! We had booked thru booking.com and received a great deal on a waterfront room with a balcony. The view did not disappoint and most of the trip we found ourselves wanting to have drinks on the balcony over a bar/restaurant. Speaking of which, the breakfast at the hotel was very good ! again, sitting on the main balcony enjoying some espresso - how could you not have a good time? We did go to the bar one nite for a drink, and there was no one there... i guess it's understandable for everyone wanting to be more in town than at their hotel. Only downside is how thin the walls are. i could hear our neighbor talk, cough etc. and the slamming of the doors! oof. We never had a chance at the pool but it was apparent it is well used thru the day. No toiletries are given (shampoo etc) We had an easy 10min walk to Marina Grande or to the town and did i mention again the views?? read more

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!. They clearly hired a good photographer/ web designer to make it look appealing. It is the clear essence of a bait and switch. The pictures of the rooms and balconies are not what you get in person. The rude, disrespectful Olga told my wife to our face that its the same room despite no blue stone balcony and on a different floor. Just awful customer service. For a 1000 dollars a night, you get a view and nothing else! The rooms are dirty, they stack you so closely together you can hear people sleeping together/ snoring/ talking and the smoke from the balconies from cigarettes permeates into the room. The biggest problem is that the nicer the room the lower into the cliff you go.... which means at 5:30AM you hear the foot steps, talking, scraping of moving tables for the breakfast which is laughable because the Buffett breakfast doubles as the "fancy Calypso" restaurant lol. Stay here at your own risk as this was the low point in our Italian adventure. So many nice hotels in Sorrento.... please choose a better one. P.s. we asked Olga to call a taxi for us to Positano and she quoted us 290 Euros.... we then called ourselves and got one for 100 lol. Just the absolute worst people at the worst hotel. read more

My fiance and I had lunch here. The view is great with ocean below and mountains across. We both had pasta dish for lunch and they were amazing. My fiance had his first gnocchi and he absolutely loved it! He ordered it again at a different restaurant. The only downside is that there was only one server but at the same time there were only few couples there so it wasn't bad at all. Overall, great experience. read more
