We stayed at this hotel and loved it. Until we decided to eat dinner at the restaurant during our stay. The veranda restaurant seemed like the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However... the experience was very disappointing. The waitstaff was very inattentive overall (awful service), the waitress was rude and our food arrived more than one hour after we were seated, which was 15 minutes later than our reservation. Late in the evening.. not even during peak dining hours. The food lacked flavor and was overall inferior. The prawns smelled and tasted as if they were not fresh. The pasta was thick and flavorless and not consistent with other wonderful food we had experienced thus far. Overall not happy. If it weren't for the beautiful atmosphere and view, there would be ZERO reason to eat here. Do as someone else suggested which was to enjoy the sunset with drinks here and eat somewhere else! read more

The most incredibly stunning hotel in Sorrento, maybe anywhere! Yes, I know there are a lot of fabulous hotels in Sorrento, but the ambiance, class, beauty, and peacefulness ptouches my soul. And that view! I could live on the restaurant veranda by the sea! Or the patio. Just exquisite with the canaopy of lemon leaves, the marble inlaid floors, the statues, white tables - all designed to not compete or distract from the view! As the name implies, it's so very serene. Definitely on the high end so if your budget can't afford a week, spend two nights here. That's what I did before meeting friends for the remainder of my time in Sorrento. Since the next four days were full of touring different towns on the Amalfi coast, a boat ride to Capri and the Blue Grotto, and Pompei, I joined them at a different hotel that was more affordable since we basically were just sleeping and showering there. Easily our best experience over a long lifetime of staying in hotels. The setting is spectacular & the building elegant. It is also unbelievably clean. The views from the lush outdoor patios were stunning with views of Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples. The staff was extremely helpful & considerate--Francesco and the others went out of their way to treat us like royalty. The food was excellent too, with the largest buffet of breakfast goodies I've seen. And the wine list is 54 pages long. I would give Bellevue Syrene 10 stars if I could. read more

Only ate dinner here. The hotel itself is beautiful but was not impressed by the food or staff. Felt rushed and they were not very friendly. Came here for a romantic dinner for my last night on my honeymoon with my husband and was very impressed! While staying in sorrento we kept noticing this beautiful restaurant from walking around town. Luckily we didn't just show up at night for dinner and went during the day to make a reservation in order to have a dinner experience there because they only had one table remaining for the night. I definitely recommend trying to book a time during sunset because you get to see the sun set over the water while looking at mount Vesuvius and enjoying a 5 star meal. The food was absolutely incredible and the wait staff does such a nice job at making you feel like a million bucks. The wine list is extensive! Take a look if that fancies you. I chose the sea bass for my dinner and my husband the lamb. Both came with complimentary pre and post courses. All of the ingredients were locally farmed from sorrento and it's surrounding areas which was special. The views can't be beat. Make reservations. I would say it's a bit fancy. With that said the food was great. The lobster over potato purée was delightful. The pumpkin soup with local cheese mouse was decedent. I had the mixed pasta with potatoes and seafood. It was amazing. The portion looks small but remember there are all different kind of pasta and potatoes. My wife had the beef with mushroom sauce and truffle potato croquets. Beautiful, quiet, quaint hotel right on the cliffs overlooking the water with stunning views of Mt. Vesuvius. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was relaxing sitting on the balcony watching the fisherman on the water below. I also enjoyed the walk down to the water through ancient Roman caves. Sea by the side! It's on the cliff ( most places here are). Getting here from the port down below is hard if you walk up! So much walking up! And climbing the tower/ Many stairs! Take the elevator: it's $1 and will save you 20 minutes or so. It's also right next to the central square and shops. But it's super quiet. The views!!! It's over the top expensive but it was also the best sleep I've had!! For $1200, the rooms are understated. And beautiful!! The service: well, it's Italy!!!! This is an unbelievably beautiful hotel. Every corridor, lobby and stairs are decorated with thought. The place is also run very well. The service is something I have never experienced before. Also they serve drinks, alcoholic and expresso with some snacks free at their lounge all day long. Even at dinner they serve some sort of bubbly wine for free. The manager spoke to us warmly throughout our stay. I think all rooms have amazing views. You can see the Vesuvious from most rooms. They have their own private beach and the path to get their is adorable. If your Italy budget allows it, don't miss staying here. They also have a really good restaurant on site. Tried to have a nice enjoyable lunch! View is spectacular. However thy decided to have a pre wedding couple conduct their business meeting in the dining room with the hotel wedding planner! Ruined my lunch. I had to sit the whole time listening to a business meeting about foods and trying to sell the couple food ideas. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE for a supposed 5 star hotel! The view is absolutely amazing. The service was exceptional. We especially would like to call out Stefano for his assistance and warmth. They offer snacks and drinks all day in the lobby which is so inviting coming back from touring the area. They do have a few housekeeping issues. The area by the "lift" - elevator smells like mildew. The walkway to the beach dock needs improvemnet. There was nothing pleasing about getting out to the deck. It was no better than a public beach. The outside sitting area by the lobby has all kinds of flies because of the dumpsters behind the wall. The womans restrooms near the "lobby" reception area need to have the walls by the doorknobs cleaned. read more

I ate here with my family for lunch one afternoon a few weeks ago. Hands down my best meal in a one week romp through Italy. Did not stay at the hotel but could easily have spent all day on the beautiful terrace having lunch and drinking a bottle of chilled white wine overlooking the bay. Simply an amazing setting with impeccable service. All our meals were fantastic and the staff paid particular attention to our kids with chocolate milk and a delicious pizza. We decided to do the full course at this place; we usually get full with pasta so we never end up getting an entree. We shared an appetizer and pasta dish with two entrees followed by two desserts. Every single food was delicious. The service here was also wonderful. They kept the bottle of white wine on ice and poured it for us every time one of our glasses was empty. After a frustrating trip down to Sorrento from Rome, when we turned the street corner in the cab and had our first glimpse of the view from the hotel it literally took our breath away!!! Situated on the cliffside, the Bellvue Syrene is an upscale boutique hotel. We were greeted immediately and were brought into their hotel for some light snacks and drinks that are offered daily from 10-9!!!! After a few minutes wait (they had to make copies of our passports) we were ushered up to our rooms. Our rooms were decorated in all white with pops of color (blue) on the chairs and minimally decorated with fun, eclectic pieces. Our view overlooked the sea and Mt Vesuvius and again, just breathtaking. The staff couldn't be more pleasant, always willing to please! There is also a complimentary breakfast buffet daily- my husband was in heaven! Please put the Bellvue Syrene on your bucket list- you'll never regret it!!!! read more

I must say, this is one of the nicest hotels we stayed at during our trip through Italy. From the elegant ambience, to the view, to the friendly service, all were top notch. The hotel is beautifully appointed maintaining a striking balance between elegant yet casual for both business travelers and tourists. We were greeted by name at the gate entrance when our hotel-arranged taxi, dropped us off. We were given a tour of the lounge area and offered a glass of wine. There is no typical reception area and registration process, which adds an element of elegance as if you're visiting a large home rather than a hotel. The hotel offers a well appointed breakfast buffet (with the option of ordering your preferred egg dish from omelettes to poached to fried, etc), in addition, an executive club type service. This would include mini bites (including pop, drinks, coffee, wines, etc) throughout the day to evening appetizers with evening alcoholic beverage options (vodka, whisky, aperitifs, etc). The only con, is that they don't have much of a swimming pool or large enough private beach area, but they do have their own dock with sun chairs, umbrellas and towels as part of your stay. The hotel is also steps away from Marina Grande and the piazza. Overall, a beautiful hotel and would highly recommend it. read more
