Todos Santos is a gem and a great, up and coming alternative to the touristy nature of Cabo. Hotel San Cristobal is a perfect boutique getaway for a more authentic experience in Mexico. I highly would recommend going to this part of the peninsula on your next trip to Baja and checking on Cristobal for an elevated experience.

I explained to the bartender and the manager how I hadn't been given the pricing when ordering the drink and how it's insane to charge what an entire bottle costs for 2 ounces. It didn't seem like they had any authority or desire to remedy the situation. Admittedly, the location and place is gorgeous! I expect to pay a bit more for upscale locations but there is a big difference from making someone feel welcome and making them feel stupid!!! Look at the menu carefully! It was a very small serving and half the shrimp were cold and served with cold fried avocado. ?? I didn't find an entree I wanted. I ordered seasonal vegetables and shrimp bites from the appetizers. The seasonal vegetables came in a red bell pepper and all were sauted till they all looked the same. I ate the carrots because its what I recognized. It was too heavy and too oily. The shrimp bites weren't hot and were also oily and lacked flavor. The table next to us was just as confused by the food. Our waiter was ok but he almost walked off without taking my husbands order. I really wanted this place to be great because its such a gorgeous place and the bar upstairs is insane amazing but the restaurant is not great. Our server Faviola went above and beyond, she made my daughter the most delicious smoothie we both have ever had. She was so sweet and genuine & the service alone convinced us that we will be back! Dirt roads bounce you along to this well-loved oceanfront inn. Everything was perfect. The staff warm and welcoming. Raul, Enzo, Manuel and others. We enjoyed coffee on our balcony every morning and fell asleep to the sound of tides coming and going. Great breakfasts - everything was fresh and so delicious. The breakfast burrito was a perfect size and stuffed with eggs, potatoes, and bacon. Our king room was outstanding. Upstairs on the corner. Everything was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The 10-room inn is a local favorite for food and libations.

The hotel itself is lovely, with nice sized rooms, especially if you book the upstairs apartment. The grounds are tidy but not overly manicured. The real star here is the staff. They make you feel like family as soon as you arrive, we were so sad to leave at the end of our stay. The dail y breakfast included in your room rate is fantastic and generously portioned, they even brought a simpler breakfast for our baby the first couple of days until we realized she is a big fan of salsa Verde and was happy to share ours. There's a well stocked honest bar for after the bar tender leaves, but I would encourage you try the house cocktails. I'm still dreaming about Axel's palomas! We miss our new friends and can't wait to go back!

Not too frequently. Amy, the property manager is the true gem here. She solved every issue promptly (not that there were many, just a couple) and was incredibly pleasant and helpful. She had some good suggestions for dining and activities too. Elvia the housekeeper was also fantastic! The A/C was cold and very nice on hot days. Great hot water, plus a super kitchen and complimentary drinking water and local coffee were a nice touch. We look forward to our return visit!!

Eleven courses of small bites and every dish was a new experience. Mostly seafood but prepared like no other. Chef Sandro Falbo came out a few times to check on us and explain some of the preparation methods. It was a lengthy and extended experience, rather than a single meal to satisfy your appetite. Some of our favorites were the truffle Angel hair pasta with the tiniest crunchy prawns. It was so wonderful, we took an order to go. It was worth every penny and we will definitely be going back.
