The name of the hotel really describes the hotel - mirrors and ornate decorations everywhere!!! The staff was really nice, and the location was pretty good. The continental breakfast was just okay. I wish the hot tub was open, too. read more

However, they have a two tremendous advantages: 1- the view of the ocean (the out of this world Copacabana beach from is something you can only find in magazines. Simply amazing. This view is available to a large number of their rooms and suites, as well as from their outdoor pool and outdoor restaurants and bars. 2- the hotel is located right next to a military (beach front) station. Which adds a lot of security comfort. The restaurant food is excellent. Service is also excellent. The only drawback was their rooms. They are nice and spacious- however I felt they needed to be upgraded to match the rest of the amenities.

When you walk in you get that wow factor and the views from the pool are breathtaking. However, their customer service on ALL levels severely lacks the standards presented at five star establishment. Upon arrival our room was not ready, no biggie, we were early. We then went to the restaurant near the pool to get something to eat while we waited. Needless to say, we sat there for over 30mins before even being acknowledged. Once we received attention from a server, there was an extreme disconnect in service delivery (i.e. getting water and refills, checking in to see how things were going). I would love to say that this was just a one time experience during our stay, but it was definitely a trend. Once we were notified that our room was ready, we were taken to a room that overwhelmingly wreaked the smell of mildew and mold, to the point my allergies and my friend's allergies began to flare up. Upon calling the front desk, we were sent to three different rooms with the same layout we paid for (a family suite), one of the rooms had someone in it, and the other two wreaked of mildew & mold. It was quickly identified that the rooms ending in 25 clearly have a mold/mildew problem. The resolution from management was to move us to a much smaller room, with a partial view for no charge. There was no service recovery or concessions provided to us for having to stay in a much smaller room, being sent to multiple rooms and our accommodations not being met. Instead we were told that the room we were in had a view and was essentially the same price as the family room. Although, we paid for and preferred the space over the view. The customer service is not in alignment with a five star hotel. If you want an awesome view with a disconnect in customer service this is your place.

The resort has something for families, singles, events, conferences, couples and more. Located directly on the beach there is no where better to stay. We booked with Chase Sapphire Reserve and had quite a good amount of specials. A resort credit, an upgrade, late checkout, and free breakfast. The suite had beautiful high ceilings, spacious bathroom and living room, and we were met with a bottle of champagne upon our arrival. Concierge and hotel staff took care of everything for us from restaurant bookings to attractions to attraction and spa bookings. I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful nature of everyone we encountered. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with a beautiful buffet of fruits, pastries, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit juices, eggs, sausage, and more. We also could order off the menu for specific items. Coffee, sparkling wine, and juices included. The pool was the perfect temperature(its temperature controlled), and well attended with bathrooms right there. Outside on the beach the hotel has its own tent, chairs, and towels. Complimentary beach bag and flip flops upon your arrival. Turndown included fresh water and treats, and I loved the scents of all their products. Great restaurants on site as well as nearby.

My favorite part was the shower/tub. I loved unwinding with an aromatic bubble bath in the evenings. My only complaint however, is that their faucets and shower head filters clearly haven't been changed in a long time. The shower water spews in every direction with poor water pressure, as does the sink. The sink also kept clogging. My boyfriend was personally a fan of the toilet (ha!) which had a heated seat and dryer. The bed was dreamy, and thanks the pillow menu, I even found a pillow for my debilitating neck pain. The welcome treats were appreciated, as were the nightly desserts. Finally, the pool deck has the best views of the Rio and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city below.

Arriving early in the week I was upgraded to a 4th floor oceanfront room at no extra charge (YMMV as it depends upon occupancy/availability). Prior to my visit I had inquired about a Business Center with access to a desktop computer, as they have at Fasano São Paulo. This hotel does not have a Business Center but they provided me with use of a Dell laptop for my entire stay which was already set up and ready for me to use as soon as I walked into my room. Unlike a few others that have posted on Yelp, I have found the front desk staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. They offered numerous dining and other useful tips during my stay. I am no rock star but everyone at the hotel treated me as though I was one !! I was extremely pleased to see Fasano still stocks Costa Brazil soap and shampoo toiletries--love this brand, which unfortunately is no longer sold in the United States. Breakfast was fabulous as always. Best tasting pancakes I have ever had along with exotic fruits, fresh juices, smoked salmon, eggs, Italian meats, fantastic baked goods, and Prosecco. I took advantage of the Spa services on this visit and got a wonderful facial. Fantastic supplies used during the treatment and cost nearly 1/2 of what it would in the US. The rooftop pool deck and restaurant/bar speaks for itself. Fantastic views and photo ops of Ipanema and Leblon beaches, a great infinity pool, comfortable lounge chairs and attentive staff. Couple of suggestions/comments--please reopen Londres Bar. It would be great to have live music at the hotel as they offer in SP. Please consider offering and selling Fasano branded Tshirts, ball caps, and polo shirts....finally, and regrettably, Fasano no longer participates in The Leading Hotels of the World group. Love everything about this hotel and will definitely return,

Right from the moment I stepped into the hotel, the warmth and professionalism of the staff were evident, setting a positive tone for the entire stay. Despite arriving earlier than our check-in time, the staff seamlessly arranged for an early room, showcasing their commitment to guest satisfaction. The efforts of the entire hotel team made my birthday weekend truly unforgettable. Our room provided the perfect panoramic view of Ipanema Beach and Dois Irmãos, creating an ideal backdrop for people-watching and immersing myself in the celebratory atmosphere. The proximity to the carnival block parties added an extra layer of festivity and joy, making me feel fully immersed in the vibrant celebrations of Rio de Janeiro. The pool and rooftop area, with its impeccable views, coupled with incredible food and modern organic decor, was a highlight of our stay. The silver mirrors added a touch of modern fun, enhancing this overall aesthetically pleasing hotel. Fasano in Ipanema Beach proved to be the perfect setting for a celebratory weekend, combining exceptional service, stunning views, and a lively atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to the Fasano team for making my birthday celebration truly special. One star off for the absurd wait times and extremely small elevators. Making it almost always an uncomfortable ride up. Additionally, I suggest adding a merchandise/gift shop for those who would like to take home hats & shirts with the Fasano Ipanema Beach name. Otherwise excellent stay - I will be back!

Customer service is practically non-existent. The front desk often had 5-6 people standing there while a single clerk managed a long line of guests. It took four calls and a near-overflowing toilet demonstration just to get a broken toilet fixed because the maintenance worker didn't understand the issue. Furthermore, housekeeping ignored dirty room service plates (leading to trays piling up in the hallways), and a simple poolside food order took over an hour. Nobody here seemed to want to help.
