Was at the Port of Rome for one night and booked a night with Hotel De La Ville. Booking the room was easily done online. A conformation code was given. But I lost the email with that information, which is not like me at all. I emailed the hotel to just reconfirm my reservation for 3 for one night and they replied quickly that yes, I was booked and gave me a conformation code, but that did not work on their website, so I left it to the fate of the gods that I did have a room.
The day arrival had come, we just flew into Rome and had a car waiting on us to take us to the Hotel, it was an easy ride.
Hotel De La Villa is right on the main street and has beautiful views of the sea. Check in was very simple, they do take copies of your passport, it's a normal thing when traveling overseas. We were given a room on the 4th floor with window views of the sea.
The room was for 3, so it was 2 twin beds and a sofa pull out, which they had already set up. The room was rather on the big side too, not tiny. The bathroom was nice and spacious as well. There was plenty of outlets and we didn't check out the A/C because we just opened up the windows to let the breeze in, almost had a bird a fly in but hey that's part of the adventure.
One of the things that I liked was this is an older hotel, you can tell, but they don't pretend to be new, even the room key is an actual key. The staff were friendly and helpful, even with a bunch of travelers showing up at the same time.
From front lobby we were able to book a private car to take us to our boat for our cruise, very easy to set up and not very costly.
My night stay at Hotel De La Villa was perfect and I wouldn't mind coming back! read more
