I have been too many different kind of Hotel, sometime bad look but still alright to stay, sometime really modern and cosy. But Hotel Erzherzog Rainer is my first time stay in hotel like this. The hotel has a really unique style, like some old hotel you could see in the movie, like in the movie Budapest Hotel, well not so grand and luxury, but the concept is similar. They don't really have a keycard for the staying guests, instead of a keycard, they have this really cool looking key. I felt like I was in the movie, when I first got the key, and then I walk around make me feel even more like this. The hotel has been in this place for a long while, there some photo exhibition of the hotel itself hang around the lobby, quite interested. The staff also gave my partner and me couple visit guide book and map of the city after hang over the key, also the free WIFI code. I was a bit surprise with the WIFI thing by some reason. The WIFI was quite stable at first, but then kind of went off and on time to time, it probably cause of the storm. They don't have a gym in the hotel though.
The hotel room we got was alright, it wasn't really big, but we were alright with this since we wouldn't be in the hotel room for long time. I remember at the first two days when we were there, the weather was really hot, there was no AC in the hotel room, only a small fan, that was a bit difficult to for us, didn't really sleep very well. And the bathroom also didn't have exhaust fan installed. At the beginning, we thought that was a mistake, but they told us that was how it like here. I was just a bit confused. it was very humid and hot after shower. Later, the weather cool down a bit, so it wasn't as difficult as before, but I still found this weird.
The breakfast was my favourite, the staff were really friendly to us, I also like the food they showcased on the table, many options. We didn't get bored with the food after couple days staying, I do think they could offer one or two thing new, and then I would be scarified. The breakfast was quite Viennese, a bit similar to the German style as well.
Overall, I think the Hotel Erzherzog Rainer was alright, I like the style of the hotel, but some of the little things inside the hotel room should be improve. Then the guests could have better time to stay here. read more
